Future of SW Contest: The Negotiator
Bob De Quatre replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Thanks Nom Carver -
Thanks. It's just some picture composition, I put the screenshot of the models before a background and add the alien conquest logo. B51 "Watchbird" bomber / assist aircraft "The B51 "Watchbird" is an assist aircraft, acting as a relay between the command center and F51 squadrons, and providing them with radar informations. It is also a bomber as it carries some long range guided missiles and a heavy bomb that could be used against large objectives." LXF file

At some time you need to end that phase... I wish I could brickbuild them... But I used only bricks available, so it should be possible to. Thanks. The presentation is quite simple, and I'm sorry I couldn't do nice render in POV-Ray The squid saucer is really a rehash of the original set, with tentacles instead of the mechanical arm. Oh and I didn't mention it, but the outer ring can rotate, while the "cockpit" and the underside stay put

Episode V - Carbon Freeze Chamber Diorama
Bob De Quatre replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Congratulation markus1984 !! -
I'm currently working on some models inspired by the Alien Conquest theme. What I like about the original AC is the alien heads, the "classic" alien's representation (like the flying saucer, the abduction, etc...) and I tried to keep these elements while building with my style which is so better. The sets I've already built: 99001 Alien pod and ADU attack jetpack Alien invader F51"Lotus" fighter Flying squid saucer B51 "Watchbird" bomber / assist aircraft The harvester All terrain DCA unit 99008 ADU command center All of these, except the ADU command center, are in the "quality and improvement" phase Here is a preview of the Alien invader and the Lotus fighter, and a render of the Flying squid saucer I put on flicker a few days ago. I think you'll have to use 58546 or 95188. Some 41751 should work too.

I must say the original doesn't look that bad, I don't know how to say it, but it feels more coherent. Mod C is probably the best, but like you I'll go for the original. I looked at how I did the fins on the awing like ship I built, and adapted it to your model: Jerac A-wing - 1.2 (1) par BobDeQuatre, sur Flickr

So you basically you took this season Ferrari F1 and removed the flick-fire wheels Very nice job on keeping the shape, the colors and sponsors

I placed the engines on the inside, it looked more balanced and closer of the original Lego set. Flying squid saucer par BobDeQuatre, sur Flickr On another subject, I think I'll stop working on the Astradea. It's been almost 9 month since I started it, and my computer can't handle the amount of bricks. Today I had to remove all the internal structure to lessen the number of bricks (gained 4000 bricks). If some are interested, I could do a WIP thread about it. I also did some quick renders (click for bigger images): I did some quick renders

I'm actively working to get my best friend's son to Lego... He'll be 3 in two weeks, but I started offering him Duplo since last year. As he loves the Car franchise, it's easy to corrupt him with the duplo Cars sets... Still I fear he might fall to the Playmobil, or even worse, the Megablocks

"in space no one can hear you scream"... even with a megaphone Back on topic, I didn't even know that those sets existed! I left the Lego world just before, the last set I got was the 1999 Lightsaber duel. It's nice to see the "cultural" side of set reviews. And good job getting your hands on those -
Just discovered that post... Got the "WIP Advice Jedi " title two weeks ago, but I'm not sure who gave it to me

Untitled13-scrap par BobDeQuatre, sur Flickr I'm playing with the Alien Conquest line, and I got a flying saucer dilemn. As you can see, I've put some of the "engine thingy" on the outside of the ring, and some on the inside. Should I put them all inside? Or outside? Or don't change them?

There seems to be some errors in the instructions, but it's still buildable... And it's an amazing model
