  1. Nice moc, love what you did on the wall, really.
  2. really nice, trying to do the interior too but so far couldn't find the way to make it rigid enough to not fall apart:)
  3. looking good so far, really. You will have to look closely how the inner structure strength is, it's always a bit hard to handle:)
  4. one support in front of the engine section sound about right, even in my 1.80m SSD, I've placed it here, seems the balance point is there indeed:)
  5. I don't have the space to build such a mamouth, but... maybe half of it, crashed in the death star would be fun to build....I'm only half jocking:)
  6. thanks for those rendering Blakbird... must take back my jaw that are still on the ground.
  7. Really interisting project, the color sheme is really nice! Need a big room to place such a massive thing though:)
  8. great looking, not used to all those red stuff (i'm way too focused on ep IV-VI movies), but that's one model I'd love to build (although, again, not having any white or red parts hurts):)
  9. Really nice perspective, bravo!
  10. What is sad, though, such amounts of details can't be done in half the scale of that monster, I don't have the room nore the money for something that big, that's why I stopped at 1.80m long max, but it's hard to get the details or shape correctly.
  11. I'll try this, thanks Zblj I won't be able to have such height due to the very thin nature of the SSD starship, but worth trying at any rate.
  12. Well, iner space wise, it's that way: Let's say the structre lenght is two meters long On the front 50cm, no more than 2 studs large, and 2 stud deep in the middle 70cm, 4 stud larges to 3/4 stud deep max, and for the rear section, 4 stud large, 4 stud deep. The first standing feet beeing in the front section, the second standing feet beeing just before the rear section. Not so familiar, since when I was young, I was building mostly castle and large structure with bricks, and not really into technic. But 25 years have passed, i'm near 40, and I want to learn.
  13. Greetings everyone. I'm jumping here because, my main project for this year, a project I'm trying to build for some months now, a quite big super star destroyer. The technic parts do come handy in this build because all the inner structure need to be really strong, and rigid, to limit the bending. I've been away for so long from the lego world, that I fail to see so far how to do it. My goal is around 1.50/1.80m long, with two feet... So, like when building a bridge, I'm sure there are some technic that allow to have a quite thin inner structure, but yet really strong, so I'm asking for help, without shame:) Deanorth
  14. Stunning, especially since the shape of the under hull structure are really like how they are supposed to look... Since I'm building (trying to) build a 1.70m long SSD myself, my first comment was "that will bend to death", but then, as I was reading the various reply, both Anio and Bob de Quatre comment made me just stunned. The details are more impressive that the size, especially the area around the motor, it's so perfect...
  15. Very nice, it's a tough thing to build because of the bending risks of the entire structure, but it's worth testing. Waiting to get my UCS falcon box (got it cheap) to re built the falcon again (I did it on Bl first), your work is and will inspire me, no offense:)
  16. I'm starting ordering the part to finish my SSD, so I understand your pain, trying to get the price as low as possible is...like the Force, hard to reach:)
  17. like we say here in creole : totoche (means wahou) ^^ The scale of the SSD is indeed a challenge (mine sits on top of a shelve, unfinished but the size is already massive), but this ship is just...maybe because of the red parts, but it stands apart. Hope you'll be able to build it Bob.
  18. thanks for sharing that with us, the model is really nice, and having it minifig size is a plus:)
  19. I'm facing the exact same problem as you did Bob:) The rear of the SSD is too heavy and is moving a bit down..gotta rethink the back of the ship to make it stronger, don't know how yet how I'll do that, but time will tell.
  20. I've just begun re building my SSD, with Bob's design in mind. Really difficult for me since I'm a new in lego, but it's thrilling, because..well, the size is interisting I have to admit:)
  21. Just a thumbs up, I've just finished my SSD, and I can see how hard it is to design and create now, what you did is just...hard to create, but truly, if you can, keep it up, it'll be worth the look.
  22. that's not a surprising decision, though, it show how massive the impact of the sandcrawler was. CUUSOO is very touchy when it comes to licensed, or not yet licensed creation, no kiding.
  23. really nice work here, and as you said, the blue designed tie are...what they are. keep us posted!
  24. that's...different for sure! but impressive, since rendering the shuttle like that, at that size, with such "tricks", like the 3 whites rubber belt, it's really something... imagination got no limit, naye?:)
  25. just got sith fury, gungan sub box, I'm very impresse by the darth malgus figs, wahou. lot of good pieces for re use though in the sets
