  1. Bank had no issue at all. They called to make sure it was fine and they let it through.
  2. After screwing around with the US website for 30 or so minutes this morning, my order went through. Got my confirmation email and my card was charged. 4 hours later, I get an email saying the order is cancelled because they couldn't verify payment. The same thing happened with the Snowspeeder order in May. But I had zero issues with the same payment multiple times over the last several years, including three weeks ago when I ordered Ninjago City. Now I am 30 minutes into hold on their phone waiting to straighten this out. This is ridiculous.
  3. GAF referencing Eurobricks, not Eurobricks referencing GAF. Like one big happy family. I don't come here that often, as most of my time is on GAF, but it is nice seeing the crossover. Thanks for that!
  4. I don't mind at all. I did do one modification to it. I replaced the 1x3 and 1x2 technic plates with a single 1x3 technic crank piece. It is a bit more secure, and now there is not a pin contacting the ball joint, so it fights tighter. Thanks to willp2003 on NeoGAF for having the idea for using that piece instead.
  5. It is a very glaring issue that I am shocked they didn't notice.
  6. As I was building it, I replaced the socket joint that came with the set with a black one that had better tension than the dark grey that was in the box. But the problem with the head still remained. The big problem is gravity. All the weight of the head is towards the front, and it needs something other then a lone technic pin to be held in any kind of position. I might try and just use one of the really old black technic pins from the 80s where they had really, really strong grip.
  7. My quick and easy fix to the head and neck issue. The main neck is still a bit wobbly, but the head is now much more posable. Parts on left are to be removed. Parts on right are what is needed. Remove the top half of the neck. Remove the 2x2 hinge joint piece and replace with the female ball joint piece. Use two 2x1 SNOT plates on the side, then reattach the jumper plates and 1x4 tile on top. On the bottom of the head piece, remove the bottom 1x2 brick with two holes along with the 1x3 technic bricks. Remove the 1x3 dark grey technic brick through the middle section that normally attached to the neck hinge. Replace the 1x3 brick with a 1x3 technic plate, using the 2x red technic axle to hold the plate in place, and a technic pin/axle piece to connect to the top part of the head. Where the 1x2 brick with 2 holes was before, replace it with an angled male ball joint piece, using two 1x3 technic axles threaded through it. Push the three pieces together, then push down onto the bottom just like the head was assembled before. There is an ever so tiny gap now as the axle contacts the ball joint. Using a red 2x axle to connect it with a cap on top might help instead. Connect the male and female ball joints. Then connect the neck back at the same attach point as before. The tension in the ball joints allows the head to pose at nearly any angle now and stay stable, and even allows a slight tilt that you couldn't do before.
  8. My apologies as well. I was a little vague in my first response. And yes, I know the Benny Spaceship and Construction Mech are all but confirmed now. Was so excited when I saw the pics of the spaceship and was so happy to see my pics of it spread like wild online.
  9. Hmm. You are right. Didn't think about that since Spidey and X-Men are not under Disney/Marvel at the movies. Well, let's cross our fingers for Storm with a mohawk then!
  10. The figures and sets will most likely be based on the upcoming Days of Future Past movie.
  11. I want a brick built Groot with a sound brick that just says "I AM GROOT!"
  12. We've had pictures of Simpsons House and Sandcrawler already?
  13. The VIP early release will most likely be the Sea Cow. We already have box images and everything, and it is close enough to the movie release to tap into the hype. All other major sets are just rumors or hearsay right now.
  14. Now I just want box pics of Benny's Spaceship and the Construction Mech.
  15. I was stoopid excited when I first saw the pics of Benny's ship in the book, but the Sea Cow has me more excited. So gloriously insane.
  16. But in the theatrical cut, there is a quick shot of Jackson and company on the deck of the boat. Mouth of Sauron is nowhere to be found. Actually, was the Mouth of Sauron the only character in the films to ONLY be in the extended editions? I never really thought of that until now. Everyone else got extended time, or just appeared in more movies than the theatrical editions. (Denethor in TTT EE, but did not appear in theatrical until ROTK.)
  17. Grabbed Battle at the Black Gate today. Cool lil build, but that is the problem: it is little. It really does need a second set to get the massive scale the gate should have. The figures are great though, especially the Mouth of Sauron. Correct me if I am wrong, but is this not the first set to feature a character that appeared ONLY in the Extended Editions?
  18. I want more Galaxy Squad as well, but if this is indeed the final wave, I can go back to wishing that the next space theme is the resurrection of Blacktron.
  19. Get R2-D2. It was my second favorite set released last year (Haunted House was king), and is a helluva fun build. Of course, as others have pointed out, you might be best to wait for the May 4th Star Wars promotion. Last year they discounted the Imperial Shuttle and Super Star Destroyer for a few days (was either 20 or 25% off each), so there is a good chance that R2 will get similar treatment this year. The May 4th promotion is the only reason I am holding off on the UCS B-Wing. I want it really bad, but it is so close I will wait to save $40 or so. And of course I will also get the new UCS (Se)X-Wing that day. :)
  20. The fact that it was an intern and Astrid working on it explains the plainness inside. I thought Town Hall was nice and all (another Astrid building), but it was definitely a step back after the previous modulars. Thankfully the new ones still look glorious on the outside.
  21. I made some quick and dirty display stands for the newer X-Wing and Y-Wing sets: I was wanting to make a display to make it look like they are flying, and I am happy with these two. The stand that comes with the UCS Imperial Shuttle inspired me. But I have tried a few times to make something similar for the newer TIE Fighter model, and am having trouble. The large wings and limited space to attach a stand have proven difficult to make a good and stable display stand. I am wanting to make it look like the ship is banking, much like the X-Wing shown above. Anyone else tried that? And if so, any tips or links to cool stands to make?
  22. I LOVE that outside trash can. So simple, yet terrifyingly effective. Those are always my favorite things to so. Something seemingly difficult, but so simple in execution.
  23. Thank you very much.
  24. B-OM-28D Whether it is the start of the workday or you need to find a nice place to go study, nothing hits the spot like a good cup of coffee at the neighborhood cafe! The building exterior. Complete with outdoor seating and hanging plants. The espresso bar, complete with espresso machine and an assortment of flavored syrups to make all those tasty drinks. Or maybe you don't want espresso, and would rather have an ice cold soda from the fountain instead! Overview of the first floor, complete with split spiral staircase to reach the lounge area. Overview of the second floor, complete with comfy chairs and couches. Album with additional images There are some more pictures at the link above, including some other details such as ceiling fans and a dumpster behind the building. This was my first ever large scale MOC, and the first I have done since I got back into Lego this year. The last time I made a MOC was when I was just a kid and making spaceships in 1990. Sure, the photos are not the best, but I had a great time building it. Soon I will post pictures of other modular buildings I have made since this one to add to the street. Thank you so much! EDIT: I forgot to add the category to the subtitle. It is Category 3: Classic Modulars. I am unable to PM a moderator for this change for some reason.
