  1. Lovely story, many thanks. Merry Christmas everyone! Joe
  2. Hey, it's great! Love the colors. Definitely The Beatles; Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Yellow Train! All you need is Lego, all together now... Joe
  3. I'd have to second that. Joe
  4. Anyone know what the starting salary for Lego retail is? It's probably not too much what with Wal-Mart beating everyone down to their bottom penny (and getting filthy rich themselves in the process). Joe
  5. All the LR sets were 20% off on Brick Friday at the Lego shop in St. Louis, Missouri. Maybe they still are? Personally, I'd already scored the sets I wanted elsewhere. I think I'd paid $66 for the train on Amazon a few days previous. It's a nice set. Now, I just need the mine, but only for cheap. The cavalry and tepee sets aren't too interesting to me. Perhaps if they only had cavalry and Indians respectively, but who needs all those LR figs?
  6. The toy shop is my favorite, and it was just reassembled today after our big move back to the USA. It's a beauty with all the right elements. The kid looking longingly thru the window is me! It was nice to wash the pieces, and get all that Beijing dust off of them. I like the smallishness of the first three, but am hoping they're building up to some truly awesome models in coming years such as a new holiday train and train station. The cottage is my least favorite as it doesn't match the shops. It's a ski resort on my layout. Joe
  7. Hey, welcome to Eurobricks! There's a very small graphic of a suggested layout on the front of the box. The dimensions are: 124 x 96 cm or 48.8 x 37.8 inches The length of the train is; 90 cm or 35.4 inches Have fun! Joe
  8. Hey, really nice! Have you been to Xian to see the real thing? Thanks for sharing. Joe
  9. Hey it looks great! Maybe needs another set of wheels on both ends? Joe
  10. Problem solved, awesome! I wonder why the Internet Way Back Machine never archived that Bricksonthebrain site? Is there any way to contact the author? EDIT; I just did a little digging, apparently he's here now: http://www.communityguy.com/ Joe
  11. Question; is this book still relevant in the PF age to someone with no 9V or earlier equipment? I've heard about this book, but never laid eyes on it. Thanks, Joe
  12. That's a cool livery, and it takes me back to my brief visit of Vancouver. Your model really looks great, although I'm not so crazy about the checkerboard pattern on the front. Maybe horizontal stripes or a solid color would be better? Joe
  13. Mail cars have always been fascinating to me, and your Lego interpretation has really done them justice. The little sorting area is probably my favorite. Thanks! Joe
  14. There's been a lengthy discussion about different sizes of Duplo track here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=78402 Might that have something to do with it? When you say “get stuck“, maybe you could elaborate? - How does it get stuck (wheels spin, hits something)? - Which engine and cars are you using? Perhaps there's some silicone lube on the track? Joe
  15. Hey, nice layout! Thanks. Joe
  16. Hey, I love it! The interior and junk lying around are the highlights for me. Can the roof be easily taken off for access? Joe
  17. Hey, really cool. Thanks! Also; most certainly the first topic to have the tag of autopsy here in the train forum. Joe
  18. Hey, they all look really first rate. Thanks for sharing. Joe
  19. Hey, beautiful station and rail car. It really reminds me of rural Europe. The parrot might be a little over-the-top though. Thanks for sharing. Joe
  20. Yes, good point, and I hadn't considered that. Maybe they're not so bad after all. Joe
  21. Hey, it's really nice. I wouldn't change a thing. Joe
  22. Hey, sorry, but these sets look like something my four year old came up with after our City sets were dropped and scattered into pieces. Imaginative is one thing, chaos another, I dunno. The dumpster set might squirrel onto my buy list, but that's about it. I've also been looking for an excuse to stop buying the CMFs, this may be my out. Anyway, I'm sure it'll be a fun movie. Joe
  23. Alien Conquest rocks! A great Space theme that fits right into Town and Trains. Thanks for the cool photo. Joe
  24. Hey, thanks for the review! It sounds like a great book. Joe
  25. Hey, that's an excellent job of one of my favorite diesels and liveries. I especially like the little light on top. The decals are excellent as well, where did those come from? Thanks for sharing, Joe
