  1. Hah! I had a similar thought as I was writing that. Plenty of excitement (both good and bad) going on right now. This scale issue seems like an easy one to leave behind so we can focus on the morality of blind packaging and predatory GWP, lol.
  2. It seems like a lot of people are getting bent out of shape for no reason. They are different scales. Simple as that.
  3. While that sounds logical to me, I doubt any IP is going to throw a fit over something like that, even if by this logic, perhaps they should. My intuition is that the IP gets their money either way in a contract that says they get $X to allow Lego to make money off of their IP in certain arenas (construction toy). Beyond that, I expect its TLG's money to lose if the boxes flop, and the IP gets their money either way. In other words, I don't think sales volume works like royalties. TLG is buying the rights, not paying out for units sold based on that IP's performance.
  4. Good info, thanks for that. Hopefully they get this worked out, updated and available to the rest of the world. In other news: success! Found the new parts in Dallas, so for any North Texas folks out there, go get ‘em! Also, they allowed any 5 parts, so I was able to load up on Falcon knight torsos, legs and shields. Lots of stock there though, so My army building didn’t really make a dent.
  5. I’d be fine with that too. Tons of great CMFs have been new takes on previously done concepts. New ninjas, vampires and cowboys with new colors, prints and occasional new parts would be great companions for the older versions. Just look at how many knights they’ve done. I have bought and enjoyed all of them. I’m ready for more colors, heraldry, armor and shields.
  6. I just ran into a video that walks through an online version of BaM. It’s in beta and apparently only available in Europe. Anyone else use this before? This would be a nice way to serve the folks that don’t live near a Lego store. (Like me)
  7. Same. Thankfully, my parents had enough closet space to store them all, still assembled, in cardboard boxes for 20 years. I came out of my dark ages about a decade ago and had an instant classic castle collection. I feel very lucky on that one.
  8. Yeah, I have to imagine that’s photoshopped in, I guess. I also thought it was smart that they interpreted the old yellow blacksmith as being shirtless, lol. Makes more sense that way.
  9. You deserve some credit for being able to have a constructive conversation and a willingness to consider another point of view. This forum software doesn’t have a “like” feature, but here’s your like anyway.
  10. Let’s see if this works… https://www.instagram.com/p/CfMOAECLwgr/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  11. Agreed. Heck, some of Kingdoms theme felt like a retread of 80's castle, and it was awesome. I recently saw a build on Instagram where someone redid the original blacksmith set with the red chimney using modern parts and techniques with more detail, and it was glorious. That's not to say that completely new sets aren't desired, but the occasional update of a classic is a for sure winner as long as it's done well.
  12. And here we have the philosophical divide. There are many (most?) of us that feel that gambling has no place in children's/collectible toys. Company makes product people want, people give money for product. That's simple math. If I want to gamble I'll go to a casino (where children aren't allowed, I wonder why that is). I don't like gambling, so I don't go to casinos. At least with the ability to feel the bags, you can side-step the nefarious gambling aspect.
  13. That's not good. The inability to feel for the right minifig in the packaging would mean that I no longer buy CMFs. Tread carefully, TLG. You may be shooting yourself in the foot under the guise of recyclable materials.
  14. The scale issue is super simple for me to get over. Put the Ideas Blacksmith on a different shelf. Problem solved.
  15. Making me feel pretty old over here, lol. Did y’all not have those when you were a kid, or is it just a Victorian and 1970’s Texas thing? That’s a fun idea. Do-able if you have the S18 red dragon.
  16. Yup, that’s the big question with that one. Could be awesome like the CMF Fright Knight, could be nothing. Fingers crossed.
  17. That looks like a white plume/quill to my eye. It’s in shadow and a similar shade as the thin piece above the windows, which we know is white.
  18. They come apart on the left of the main gate (as viewed from the front/outside), opposite the tree side. If you go a few pages back, somebody linked a good video with the designers that shows them popping it apart.
  19. You've done a really good job on these. I'm really tempted to make some large (maybe a foot tall?) shields to mount to the wall in my Lego room. Doing them in Illustrator is a real service. The ability to print at any scale is invaluable. So, about these large shields for my lego room... how do you feel about making some old dragons/forestmen/wolf pack versions? lol
  20. This is a really cool idea, and elegant in its simplicity. My only note would be that it could really use some wheels/wheel covers. Kind of looks like the tires are hovering around the brake rotors without them. :)
  21. Yeah, I think a lot of us feel that way. Imagine the possibilities for companion figs to go with the new Galaxy Explorer and castle. If they had a new color classic space man and new Lion archer we’d all be putting our wallets into a big trebuchet and launching them to Billund.
