I love how Lego based that figure + shield on the movie!

Husbandry Challenge: If you pay peanuts...

Monsters, pumpkins and purple roofs... everything you need for a solid Nocty moc ! -
Excellent usage of the green fences and the yellow hairpiece.

To the Citadel! The Battle of Abercrub Pass
Dubbadgrim replied to Garmadon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Congrats on finishing this in such a short period of time, you guys sound much more productive than me ;) the mountain section looks very natural, the houses are distinct and the citadel looks intimidating. -
This has a very tranquil atmosphere, I'd rather live here than in some dry, desert warzone! And I'm a fan of the tidy water style, I think the loose 1x1 style with different colours can contrast too much with landscapes.

Cheers guys ! Can't believe I didn't think of that ! Maybe in the future I'll do an upgraded version with more discomfort involved

I hope this counts as historic, even though it has a giant magnet in it... :S

That ice is just spot on... (seems like you have a decent collection of figs going too!).

Nice work on the interior, fig combos and guy camping up the top with treasure!

Woo purple wizards hat! Neat build.

Those white buildings Usually I'm not a big story reader but presentation like this makes a big difference.

[MOC] – Freebuild – La Valetta's west Gate
Dubbadgrim replied to Brick Man Studios's topic in Guilds of Historica
I like the wooden parapets and different colours in the wall + trees A focused shot of the whole build would help with presentation. -
Woah, looking forward to seeing how this develops

Husbandry challenge -The Scaly Scavengers
Dubbadgrim replied to Dubbadgrim's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks very much everyone for your comments and feedback ! Thanks, yeah the water was quite flamboyant, however I decided to stick with it as I really liked the look of it in "Abyssian" which has been linked above. Still, the more washed out greens would definitely be nice to have in my collection -
I built a black castle recently and did a lot of google searching, stuff like "black castle moc" etc to see what was out there already. This was one of the only really spectacular ones that I could find, great to see it posted here

Smart use of slopes and the second photo's edit really adds to the build.

Really well done designs here (especially the squid), and lots of action too ! I don't envy the lookout in the crow's nest

Kyrrath Old Mill (Husbandry-minichallenge)
Dubbadgrim replied to jaapxaap's topic in Guilds of Historica
The stonework and landscaping are solid, (except I think the grills in the rocks look a bit out of place). Also, The windmill blades are spot on and I love how the smoke snakes up towards the sky. -
Attractive detailing techniques with all those grey pieces and stained glass. Advice wise it looks pretty complete, unless you want to extend it further backwards or make a landscape ( which always adds a lot to castle builds ;)).

A trio of crocodiles occupy this ramshackle fort in Nocturnus, which sits over a river inhabited with all kinds of strange creatures. Conveniently, the crocs can 'fish' all of their food from right below their home - much easier than hunting humans or anything their own size! EDIT - Could a mod move this to Guilds of historica section? Thanks.

I think my favourite aspect of this town is the variety of house colours, and all of the different elevation really brings it to life too!

Pegasus Knight vs Possessed Knight, Final Duel
Dubbadgrim replied to Isundir's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The contrast between the two fighters and their landscape is cleverly done
