After 11 years it was about time to build another tank. This time a rather fictional one from the Indiana Jones movie "The last Crusade". It was based on WWI British heavy tanks such as the Mark IV and Mark VIII. With a turret from a Churchill I. For my MOC the first thing I had to decide upon was the color. While think that tan would have been a better choice I quickly realized that my supply of tan parts was rather limited. So I decided to go for the next best thing: dark tan. I feel that this color works decently well too. As for the treads I would have preferred light bluish grey but once again, I have none of those and plenty of black ones so black it is. The model features 90° adjustable side cannons. 360° rotating main turret with functioning hatch. It also has opening hatches on the sides, accurate to the movie prop. It has a fully detailed engine bay and interior as well. As for the technical aspect of it I actually used the same design structure as I used on my Mark IV. With a snot-based construction for the sides. I have however learned from previous experiences and so this time I put side panels just outside the treads. This to make sure that the treads don't get stuck on the wedge plates. A problem I had on the Mark IV. As for total number of pieces I'm not quite sure, it is however a hefty model! After a few months of work my first Star Wars MOC since 2014 is finally finished. Having been away from the Star Wars universe for such a long time it was a blast to try my hands on this iconic location. The build is scaled too both incorporate a high level of detail without going to big to the point of not being able to finish it. For this build I also went ahead and designed a custom X-Wing and Y-Wing as I needed both vehicles to be at a smaller scale than minifigure scale so not to dwarf the temple.The temple itself features a highly detailed exterior and full interior complete with hangar bay large enough to fit the Y-Wing or the X-wing.

Just incredible. The design is so very good on it's own but then add in the fact that you've managed to get two motors and a circuit cube in there and we have the perfect Lego model.

I have a stud.io file. If you're interested I can upload it to my rebrickable. Sadly I don't really have the time to make the instructions 100% perfect but with the file and auto-generated instructions it should be doable!

Many thanks! Thank you for the suggestions! Would a proper spiral staircase feel appropriate, or should I add a new staircase alltogether in a different location? The front right tower is empty on the lower section, so by moving the stables a bit I could probably fit a staircase in there in sufficient fashion. A door is on the way! The timbered section is still missing the interior as I'm on a rather significant dark-brown parts-deficiency, as soon as that is sorted I'll be fixing both an interior and a door! Now that you say it, how could I forget about a well? I'll fix that right away.

Set 6047 is a classic. And the yellow and black color for the Tudor building most certainly found it’s inspiration there! I didn’t want any round towers here, had a few test runs with different techniques but I ended up preferring the more imposing look achieved by the squared of towers.

Where to begin? Mid-September I got my hands on the Lion Knights castle (10305). My first Castle set. While my love for all things vintage Lego I never quite got into the Castle line. However all the talk about the Lion Knights Castle had started to draw me in, and eventually I started seriously considering making the jump into the very fantastical world of Lego Castle. I did do a few smaller builds at first. But I knew I eventually wanted to try my hands at a proper castle, and when I had completed the Lion Knights Castle there was no going back: the Black Falcons needed a proper castle to bring some balance to the Kingdom I'm working on. I started working on this in late September, however this being my last semester at university my spare time was limited to say the least. But finally, just before Christmas its finally finished! Going into this project I knew there was quite a few things I wanted to archive: no Lego Castle set have been without great features. Therefor I had made it a priority to make sure this wasn't just a static build. The most obvious feature would be the drawbridge, all proper castles needs one of those. I went with chains rather than strings for the mechanism. While it looks great it does take up more space inside to make it run smoothly, so the middle part of the gatehouse is essentially dedicated to the winching system. I also needed an escape from the cellar, a feature I think one would rather quickly recognize from the Lion Knights Castle. It was just to good not to steal it for my own MOC. ;) Further features include being able to access the interior through the hinged wall-sections. Lastly the entire castle can split in the middle for easier access to the fully detailed courtyard. It also happens to be a big plus when moving it around. There was also a lot of consideration when choosing the color palette. I wanted the design to fit well next to the Lion Knights Castle while still maintaining a unique design. The result was to bring back the classic yellow Tudor style building, as featured in the original Black Falcons castle. Another big decision was to completely go for dark brown instead of reddish brown. An expensive but worthwhile decision in my mind. As this is my very first Castle I'd expect i have missed a few things here and there that the more seasoned Castle builder would have added. So please, all your suggestions are welcome!

What a wonderful build you've managed. Keeping the red/yellow color scheme is the right way to go. Had I done it myself I just know I would have strayed away to dark red and tan, which would have made for a less playful build. Extra points for the lit up passenger carriages as well!

This project started in the beginning of summer. A summer that had a lot more in store than I would have thought, and that includes the planned wedding. Thus did this not only take quite some time to finish; finding time to take somewhat decent photos of it took even longer. Now we are here tho! My take on the Black gates of Mordor is finished and I'm most pleased with this build. I never thought I'd give this scene a go due to how reliant it is on having two substantiell armies. However I have over time managed to amass a fair amount of soldiers for both sides. The Orc army mainly consist of the classic Lego orcs with a few custom ones from Koruit. As for the army of men more custom Gondorian soldiers from Koruit can be found. These look absolutely incredible in my opinion and really elevates this MOC.The gate itself took some thinking to get the layout right. I wanted to have some notion of the mountains on erither side to be able to integrate the wall into the mountainsides. This I feel worked great! To get the right scale on the MOC I used the mouth of Sauron mount. The goal was for the gates to dwarf the figure on the horse once placed infront of it. While a gate cannot include to much functionality what I'm most pleased with is the hinge-mechanism I decided that allow the gate to open without leaving any big gaps on either side once closed. Overall I have to say that I'm most pleased with the outcome on this build.
