The updated locomotive looks absolutely stunning.

Many fine details can be found here. The candles and roof design is my personal favorites, excellent work!

Many thanks! I've always been a fan of utilizing studs as details. To many tiles and some character is lost.

It's a treat for us LOTR fans that they are available. Should Lego ever come out with something similar I will most likely replace them with that. Until then however they are staying! Thanks! Many thanks. I have the Barad Dur set and my intention was to have it built at the same time and take some really cool photos. Sadly I didn't have the time to finish it in time. But with some photoshop work in the future it should be doable. Thanks a lot!

[MOC] Rock Raiders; Mobile HQ

Excellent work. Captured the RR-feel perfectly! -
This project started in the beginning of summer. A summer that had a lot more in store than I would have thought, and that includes the planned wedding. Thus did this not only take quite some time to finish; finding time to take somewhat decent photos of it took even longer. Now we are here tho! My take on the Black gates of Mordor is finished and I'm most pleased with this build. I never thought I'd give this scene a go due to how reliant it is on having two substantiell armies. However I have over time managed to amass a fair amount of soldiers for both sides. The Orc army mainly consist of the classic Lego orcs with a few custom ones from Koruit. As for the army of men more custom Gondorian soldiers from Koruit can be found. These look absolutely incredible in my opinion and really elevates this MOC.The gate itself took some thinking to get the layout right. I wanted to have some notion of the mountains on erither side to be able to integrate the wall into the mountainsides. This I feel worked great! To get the right scale on the MOC I used the mouth of Sauron mount. The goal was for the gates to dwarf the figure on the horse once placed infront of it. While a gate cannot include to much functionality what I'm most pleased with is the hinge-mechanism I decided that allow the gate to open without leaving any big gaps on either side once closed. Overall I have to say that I'm most pleased with the outcome on this build.

Many thanks Elysiumfountain! Thank you! Yes you are onto me. For the doors two 1x4 trans clear tiles and two Plate, Round 2 x 2 with Rounded Bottom. Same for the round windows. It sits pretty well in the arch-pieces.

Haha oh I misunderstood! I'm clearly lacking in dragon-emoji knowledge.

Ohh not a fan I see!

Thank you! It's definitely a defining feature!

Many thanks!

Many thanks! I'm considering making instructions for it. However I must solve the attachment of the gears for the mouth. I initially used part #1745 but later realized that its not produced in dark tan. So for the time being the gears are floating in there, unless I use said part in LBG. A bit of a dilemma.

I feel confident building almost anything, except for creatures/animals. Thus trying my hands on a fell beast was uncharted territory for me. First of it has the wrong wings. My intentions are to use the wings lego used in their version of the fellbeast as soon as the new Balrog set releases as it uses the same wings so they will be become widely available. Other than the wings I feel the overall shaping is fairly decent. Further changes will be made once it's built in real bricks and it's easier to see the proportions. Tell me what you think.

Thank you!

Many thanks for the kind words! Thanks! I always loved the set but it looked a bit lost just standing on its own. Thank you!

Many thanks! As of right now its more additions to the original set than all-out modifications. In a few weeks the mods will become more apparent.

Let me present my Isengard MOC! After finishing the design in studio.io last year I’ve finally got to the point where I could build it in real bricks. It’s been quite the project coming in at 5 333 pieces. It features the Tower of Orthanc with surrounding gardens of Isengard. For the tower I have used Legos set from 2014, with an added level. Due to the size of the trees I knew I had to add to the height of the Tower. This resulted in a library being added in the middle section above the original throne room. This addition have given the tower better overall proportions. I’ve already started working on another level which will be added near the top. The base is constructed from wedge plates to achieve a nice round shape finished of with a black border around it as a nod to the ring of Isengard. As for the trees I opted for dark brown and dark green as this best represents old growth. They also vary in size and coverage in the canopy. For the gardens one detail remain to be added; a chain-link fence. Hopefully I will be able to order the parts I need in the coming days. Together it all makes for a highly detailed and massive display standing at a respectable 84cm tall.

Thanks! It's so it comes to together to form a narrow alley. When I take some interior photos I'll make sure to get one of those shots as well!

For the past months I've spent quite some time working on my Diagon Alley "MOC". It's been a labour of love thats for sure and its finalyl come to a point where I can share the progress. It's definitely not done yet. I have a "Quality Quidditch Supply" MOC built digitally waiting for funds. This is a different form of MOC as you've probably spotted both Flourish & Blotts and Weaslys Wizard Weezers sets as well as some models from the original Diagon Alley set released in 2011. The idea for this amalgamation started when in december of 2024 I managed to snag both weasleys and F&B for €85. As soon as that happened I knew I had to combine them with my original set, which have been sitting in a drawer since it was new in 2011. The plan was to reconfigure the original sets to work with the style introduced with set 75978. The main aspects was to transfer them to 16x32 stud baseplates and great the same styled "sidewalk" as per the newer set. The old ones was also rather skinny so Olivanders and Borgin & Burks have both been extended to feature more expansive interiors. After these to were finished I turned my attention to Gringotts. I knew I wanted to keep the design from the original set but it had to be significantly modified as it's way to small to work in this scale. So I set out to fully rebuild it. I'm most pleased with the result as the beautiful original design remains yet the much larger size gives it a commanding role, something it lacked before. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the interior so that I'll have to share those at later time.

Thanks! Oh thank you very much! Many thanks Thomas. It does, doesn't it?

Thank you Phil! Many thanks!

So it shall be done. Now the entire locomotive + tender is done in 8-wide .
-
Many thanks for the kind words! I couldn't resist giving it a quick shot. Nothing finalized but its a MOC-up of what a Emerald Night locomotive could look like using XL-drivers while maintaining the original Pullman coach height.
-
I think you too might be onto something. I lowered the coaches by 2 plates and raised the tender by one plate. It all lines up nicely now but the proportions of the coaches feel a bit of. Maybe those extra blak XL-drivers I have laying around should finally see some use with a beefed up Emerald night. Many thanks!
