  1. Then I don't know what to tell you. Hunt as you will.
  2. Thirty bags at $3 each make for a case at under $100. I think that's a good move if Lego wants to move more cases. Plus, it give the impression the product is moving faster - one 30 bag case gives you one full set (which should sell quick) and 14 extras (which the army-builders will sell quick). Cases moving that quickly will encourage stores to order more.
  3. It is since stores won't re-order an item they already have a number of around here. Your mileage may vary. I agree that there have been leftover cases of the last series appear when a current series is on the shelf, but that's usually in the form of one case or one side aisle wing. With Fred Meyers stores here still holding 3-4 cases of S8, I don't see them ordering new product just yet. When Freddies got S8 in, they had no S7 at any of the locations - it had been long gone. Although maybe Freddies won't be the first place to get the CMF this time... maybe it will be Walmart or Target.
  4. Given how much S8 I still see around, I have to think it will at least be another month or two before S9 hits.
  5. Pretty soon Disney is going to own everything, so "Disney" in the title of anything will be alittle redundant...
  6. I have Escape from Mirkwood Spiders and Barrel Escape on my radar and already own Attack of the Wargs. With that said, I think they're all worth getting, so you can't go wrong.
  7. The Hobbit An Unexpected Gathering, Escape from Mirkwood Spiders, and Barrel Escape. Plus, and I know this is wishful thinking that somehow they come out in time, Star Wars Rancor Pit and A-Wing.
  8. Here's hoping that new Greivous might appear in the upcoming Corporate Alliance Tank Droid or Homing Spider Droid sets... though possibly more fitting in the Tank Droid set as it was featured in ROTS, albeit a battle in ROTS that Greivous was not part of. Likewise, one could make a weak case for including him in the Republic Gunship or AT-TE sets, as well.
  9. It's a fantastic set. As a fan of ROTS and that scene in particular, I had to get it when it first hit. I have no regrets - it's solid.
  10. Until the Disney special, special edition re-edit...
  11. I would go with Arkham. You mentioned it's your favorite and I always try to acquire my favorite, most "needed" sets first just in case something happens in the future to prevent me from getting them later. Then after those are done I go after all the sets that I just "want".
  12. This thread is a great idea. Personally, I've always preferred more regional specific sightings threads. With any luck S9 will hit Fred Meyers first here in the Northwest, like the last couple of CMF series have. Being able to hit a store that opens before I go to work is a nice bonus.
  13. Star Wars had their first "UCS" back in 2000, while the line itself started in 1999. As far as I know, there haven't been any other lines or themes that have carried the UCS title. With that said though, there have been other very large sets of a similiar caliber offered in other lines. As for Orthanc or any other LOTR/Hobbit set made as an UCS, I think it's just way too early to tell. The LOTR line is only six months old and not even into their second wave yet. Lego knew the kind of money people were willing to spend on Star Wars collectibles back in '99; the Prequels were just starting to take over and so many companies were jumping on board for the ride. It was an easy money-maker and still is. LOTR is no where near as successful as far as a merchandise license goes - very few LOTR products were available up until this past year. If LOTR is going to see an UCS type set, alot of that will depend on how well the Hobbit movie will do.
  14. That build-a-figure system works for action figures, because generally you're only paying $10-15 per figure. Here with what's being described for Minas Tirith, we're looking at sets at least $50-60 if done right. After five or six of those, we're talking $300-360 just to collect the build-a-Minas, which may not even be complete. Personally, if Lego makes a Minas Tirith just slightly bigger than Helm's Deep, I'd be happy. Price it around $200, make it a bigger set than Helm's Deep, add in some major characters with maybe one Gondor soldier and one Orc and possibly a Fell Beast. Then compliment the set with a Gondor vs Orc battle pack released at the same time. I highly doubt it. Lego has the license and the Hobbit movies are going to be going till mid-'14, There's no reason to stop making LOTR sets if they can piggyback them on the success of The Hobbit. Consult your local physician. You may be having some internal urological issues or you might have food poisoning. The Hobbit will rock socks.
  15. I watch alot of Star Wars collectibles, even some from outside Lego, and I would sell now. I know people have mentioned the possibility of a new movie bumping up the value, but even if a Sandcrawler was shown in that movie, it wouldn't be a big enough deal that people would suddenly go Sandcrawler crazy. Plus, if there is another Sandcrawler released, the classic one will go down in value, as the only people interested in it will be collectors. The best time to sell it would actually be right around now or a couple weeks ago - during the holidays. People always spend a bit more these days due to the holiday craze. In fact, there's even a thread in the general section here about someone who is getting more than they anticipated selling a Minecraft set on Ebay and that's mostly due to the fact that people spend big to get that perfect holiday gift.
  16. New Mace leg printing, new Dooku with hair, and a new Yoda - all look very good. Still, the video doesn't explain what the Yoda Chronicles are? Is it just a series of videos or is this going to be a potential subline or exclusive set? The secret character looks cool from what we can see and the Jedi Padawans would be easy enough to make. The part where Palpatine switches his hood to hair was pretty funny...
  17. My plans for '12 went out the window once I saw the LOTR and Hobbit sets in person. At that point any sort of reserve just got lost and I spent alot more this year than I though I would. No regrets, though. My goal next year will probably be to keep a tighter budget, but alot of that depends in how my other hobbies go as far as spending.
  18. No, the map is not a new piece. It's a shame Lego didn' tmake it look like the essential map of Middle Earth...
  19. I was already sold before and now I just can't wait. Those figures look gorgeous. Thanks for posting those pics.
  20. I'm not a fan of the CW, but I do like the 501st, so this one is still a tough call. Though after seeing the pics, I think I'm leaning towards getting it. The battle droid (or whatever variation it is) would never see the light of day, but another Destroyer Droid would not be worthless. I wish it didn't come with Yoda and instead had another 501st trooper. Especially, with the rumored Yoda vs Dooku summer set. Edit: By the way, thanks for posting those great pics.
  21. Just spotted the TMNT Legos at the local TRU store in WA. As others have mentioned the prices are redonkulous, though I like the smaller boxes where the sets feel more full.
  22. Is it just me or do the figures in the tubes behind Yoda look slightly different from one another?
  23. Try Youtube - I've seen a couple of them there as of last night. Though they'll probably get pulled soon. Or a basic Google search found me another site that has them.
  24. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering what the general consensus would be on an Area Finds/Sightings section. Alot of other sites have these types of sections where people can post about what they've found specifically in their region so that they could help others in those areas. For example, I can post in the general forum sections about finding somewhat rare items, like polybags for example, but since users on this board are from all over the world, very few people could take advantage of that information. Now if there was a section devoted to finds in each state, then that same post about polybags might be useful to others in the state that I'm in. Now, I understand that for the most part Legos aren't something that gets stocked and then disappears quickly, like action figures or collectibles. However, from time to time there are items like polybags or even regional sales or clearances where opportunity can come and go quickly. I would like to be helpful and provide people with information that they could then use immediately. Hope that makes sense. I'm trying to think of the best way to contribute.
  25. That Galadriel pic is stunning. I agree about Smaug, it does look like a concept pic and even still, I don't think it looks like a great Dragon design.
