Does anyone know if the ECCC exclusive minifigures are official Lego items? I know they use official Lego minifigures, but are they on par with like the SDCC minifigure Lego has put out. Thank you.
-
A Chewie with some snow on him would be welcome in the Echo Base set.

When I went recently, the store was packed, but they were able to check behind the counter by where they keep the promo stuff and whatnot. If they had to go in the back, they probably wouldn't have because how many people were there.

Very great color blending and pose! It looks very lifelike.

Don't know if this might help, but twice now I've had good experience with asking store associates for bricks not on their PaB wall. Yesterday, I was looking for some green 2x4s and didn't dind any on the wall. I asked an associate and they pulled out some green 2x3s from behind the counter. Not a complete match, but useful. So, if you don't so a brick you need, they may have past bricks in the back.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion

I would wonder if the new Netflix Daredevil show may be too dark for Lego. It looked like it could be from the promo I saw. Otherwise, maybe a classic Daredevil in a future comic-based set. -
March's Double VIP- What are you buying?
HawkLord replied to TheFuzz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Got some PaB and plates in store and they still had the Bionicle polybag promo going. I may go back for a couple Star Wars sets and more bricks, but I'm in no hurry. -
I think the only thing that will be stopped is the EU because LFL doesn't want NJO stuff confusing people who go see the new trilogy. There really would be no point to stopping any PT material.

New Parent/AFOL -- What is a good deal?
HawkLord replied to brickbert1000's topic in General LEGO Discussion
For sales, I usually don't bother until a set is 20% off or higher. Even then I may be hesitant depending on brick and Minifigure count. Lego used to have some good Black Friday sales, but those have been lackluster the past couple years. For VIP, I usually wait for really good promos and/or polybags. They don't necessarily have to be ones I want for myself, they can be ones that I can sell to further offset costs. -
How do you control your spending & what do you collect
HawkLord replied to Seeky's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I limit myself to what I want and what I know I'll honestly use. Some stuff looks really cool, but I know I may never really use and would almost be buying it for bragging rights. This applies to minifigures a lot. I've also learned to sell what I don't readily use for more Lego money. Otherwise Lego VIP and sales/clearance helps. -
Help with screaming female mini fig?

Possibly the CMF Series 10 Warrior Woman, Series 12 Dino Tracker, or Series 13 Samurai. -

Spotted three of the AoU sets at Fred Meyers in WA. They also have their usual 10% off toys/home coupon going, so don't forget that. -
Fantastic minifigure, I just wish it would have been of someone/something that appeared on screen. I'll still pick it up when I see it.

How is Lego allowed to make action figures and not have Hasbro pull the lawyer card, yet they can't offer just straight minifigures? Arguably, the action figures are more competitive with hasbro's so I see it as the most problematic. Personally, I think the Hasbro action figure of Luke looks really weak. I don't have high hopes...

Nothing really flashy here. I mean for the same price as the Slave 1, it comes with three less minifigures and way less interesting parts. Aside from the front window of the cockpit, I'm not seeing anything new or unique... and who here doesn't have a ton of black and grey bricks and plates...? Lego really should have thought about pricing this close to $150-175. I hope this isn't some new type of price jump they're considering given the upcoming Star Wars movies...
-
The current CMF goblin head could possibly work. I'm hoping Lego releases another Halloween pack like they did a couple years back. It contained a zombie, ghost, and witch and I wish I would have bought multiples...

Fiancé got me the Slave 1 last week and we're hoping to have time to build it this weekend. I'm very excited!

Should new castles have (raised) blaseplates?
HawkLord replied to Artifex's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
When I was younger, yes raised/molded baseplates were great and I really liked them. There were fewer types of bricks back then and the raised/molded baseplates saved time from building suitable foundations. As an adult, I don't really like them as much. There are tons of bricks and techniques (SNOT) that can do the job better and make the finished product completely brick-built. Plus, I imagine that if Lego did produce a castle with a raised/molded baseplate, the price would be outlandishly high. -
Definitely not dying at all. In fact probably bigger than ever with the current themes roster and introduction of Ideas. I think more IPs are opening to up Lego almost creating a "it's not cool until it's been made into Lego" dynamic. With that said, I think Lego is seeing it's popularity and is making some financially based desicions, such as price increases and minifigure selection. Both seem to be an issue for me, as sets are either alittle higher than I'd like in some cases or the minifigure selection is lacking. I'm impressed by the recent smaller Lego movie and City Swamp sets that have a lot of minifigures for $12, but not so much impressed with a couple of the Star Wars and upcoming Avengers offerings. None of this tells me anything negative with Lego. They're a juggernaut and will expectedly grow, which may mean price increases or so much product that not everyone gets what they'd want.

Purchasing on sight. Literally day one. I'm very excited. It'll be great to see where they go and which characters they include. I'm hoping for number ten the most. And for brick-built Daleks that can then be customized on. I have a few brick-built ones I've made, but the colors are limited.

I would be very surprised if games-workshop had a leg to stand on with Lego battle packs. GW makes static miniatures for a tabletop game and they are no where near the size or depth as a toy manufacturer. I've always known about the Hasbro piece with Lego and that I can mildly understand, but GW is a totally different concept.

I'll have to see the Vader better, but right now it's a solid maybe for me. The price will be a factor as well as how much I need those revised figures.

March's Double VIP- What are you buying?
HawkLord replied to TheFuzz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Might be odds and ends for me. Maybe some baseplates and some of the Star Wars battle packs. Perhaps the T-16 or the last couple Hobbit sets I don't have. Really not a lot going on for me with Lego sets right now. -
Those colors are great and the build is very cool and detailed. Great job!

The face is pretty good, but I think the hair flares out alittle too much and it makes the overall head look oddly shaped.
