1. Dzahr turned to the heroes in the back of the cart and opened his mout, ready to speak. His face contorted as he peered in the distance. It was a look of pure fear. From the top of his lungs, the coachman shouted: "WYVERN ATTACK!" "Hmph! Just what we needed. For crying out loud, can't we just travel once without interruption!?" "Dear lord... To my understanding, dragons rarely leave their roosts in the eastern mountains. Perhaps they've heard of the dragoons' visit?" "Doesn't really matter now, does it? Put them down." 2. Wow! That's got to be one of the best-looking galleons I've seen . I don't know a lot about ships and their sizes, but the size of your boat seems to be very realistic and close to scale (at least to my poor knowledge). The photography is also quite good, I like the clouds in the background. It makes the presentation seem more believable. Great job, awesome build. I'm sure your father would be very pleased with this  .
3. Eric chuckled. "Hehe, Althior. I strongly believe in a woman's right to independence and self-determination, so I left her be for the time being. I'll see her again when I want to or you know, just later. Not now." The Nord turned to Sorrow. He had probably seen the hero around in the Hall, but this was the first time he actually said a word to him and saw him up close. Eric grinned and cocked up an eyebrow, enjoying the attention once more. "My name is Eric. I hail from the North. The more important question to be posed here however, is what are you? You're old and dead, yet you do not look like a Vampire to me. Believe me, I'm quite familiar with their kind. But you don't quite strike me as a brainless zombie, either.." Taking a large sip from his mead, Eric replied: "Like I said to Althior, Periwinkle's more of a rough diamond than a diamond in the rough. She can handle her own, mostly... she might have been somewhat in the rough. You know how it goes, my heart was too big to leave the poor girl behind in Vega." He chuckled mischievously and grinned broader, quickly taking another sip. "You forgot the part where we made a 1000 gold doing that", Eric added.
4. "Nope, sorry to disappoint you there. Dzahr's my name, like I said." "A missionary, eh...in Farrech? Hmm, I can imagine that being the type of city that pulls such folk there. I hope you'll find him. We'll hit Farrech soon enough." "I rather prefer to keep our business in Farrech to ourselves, master coachman. If you don't mind." QM Note: I'll try and post a larger update later tonight .
5. The doors of Heroica Hall opened and in stepped Eric once more. It had been a while since he had a free drink here. A drink is always nice, but it's the free ones that are the best. Eric closed the door behind him, slamming it a bit more than is supposed to. Some folks look up, the desired effect the Nord had wished to achieve. He always liked it when his entrance was noticed, even though the others perhaps didn't really care and they only looked up out of pure reflex. It didn't matter, Eric had his moment of attention. He peered around as he strode towards the bar. He noticed some faces he hadn't seen before. None were female, which was kind of sad, really. Eric then saw Sarge and Althior sitting together. Sadly, Throlar was there, too. The Nord figured there could be worse company than Sarge and Althior and so decided to head for there table. He smiled mischievously as he gently nodded towards those at the table. "Old man, dead man, small man. Mind if this gentle man joins you at your table? How are my compatriots?" Eyeing Sarge's new armor, he added himself, "Fine, I suppose from the looks of it."
6. "I'm a were-what now, missy? A were-lizard? As in, I turn into a Human when the moon is full. Hah, naaah, I'm always like this." "...uhm, my name is Dzahr, not 'a Dzahr'. Anyway, nope, this company used to be owned by my uncle, Skorgeh. I worked my up and now I own it. It also helped that he died, though, gods rest his soul. He was a good man, but age waits for nobody." "Yeah, well, can't really blame the folks who like a free drink. Heck, I'd spent most of my day in that Hall of yours if the drinks were free." "If you don't mind me asking, what's your business up in Farrech? Something mysterious and exciting, I reckon' "
7. Ah, okay. I thought you choose the picture of Danzig on purpose, because it's a well-known medieval port. Heck, the photo of the wooden crane is practically on every medieval history text book they use in school here in Flanders . That's why I recognized (plus, I visited the city last summer). But yeah, I concur, finding decent background pics at a right angle can be a pain sometimes .
8. Fixed it now . EDIT: Also, Pie, is that the old port of Danzig you used as background in this picture?
9. "I've been here and there. Visited the wondrously exotic locales of Babeleth.", Eric replied as he handed over the belt and took the 20 gold pieces.
10. "Aaah, newbies! Well, everybody's got to start somewhere, am I right? I started out as nothing. A nobody shoveling shit. I still shovel shit, actually, but now I at least own the horses whose shit I shovel, see? I've come a long way."
11. "Meh, I've heard your name drop here and there. Wasn't your organization involved in the war here some time back? I don't know the details, like I said, I only hear things from time to time." "I also heard some guys from Eubric burned down Domus, riding on Dragons. Those people wouldn't be linked to your organization, would they? Some of those less heroic types you were talking about. Such a shame, really."
12. After a long period of absence, Eric enters the marketplace, seeking to get rid of some excess equipment and perhaps spend some of his hard-earned gold. Eric buys: Undo merging of Garnet with Spiked Club: -50 Gold Undo merging of Aquamarine with Crocodile Belt: -50 Gold Merge Garnet with Boots of Evasion: -50 Gold Merge Aquamarine with Boots of Evasion: -50 Gold Merga Scroll of Sleep with Boots of Evasion: -50 Gold Total: -250 Gold Eric sells: Leather Whip: +35 Gold Spiked Club: +25 Gold Pitchfork of Abomination: +5 Gold Total: +65 Gold Eric has spent 120 Gold pieces, which leaves him with 1021 Gold. He then walk to Fabian's boutique and offers him the Crocodile Belt for a price of 65 Gold.
13. Oooooh! I don't know how long that rumor's been up there, I only just noticed it now. Blackgull sounds interesting and ...dark for a Bonaparte.
14. Like the others, I really, really enjoyed #100. I agree with most of what has been said so far, so there's little I can still add. The pacing got slow at some points, but most of the time that was because of in-party bickering. Near the end of the quest, my input somewhat lessened, too, but that mainly had to do with some stuff in real life, not the quest. Unlike K-Nut, I for one, did not see it coming that Orokai, Walbartan, Hodurr and the assassin were the Fearsome Four. I actually believed Orokai's story and Walbartan just didn't really seem like Wolfpack material in my eyes. That was a nice twist. Also, the way you turned the quest from one quest, into 2 quests in order to deal with the "Throlar situation" went really well. Sorry to say, but decision make went a whole lot easier after Throlar left the main party, just like the general atmosphere between the PC's improved (IMO) . The party dynamic was cool, though . I've said it before, but this was probably one of the most rag-tag and amoral party's there has been. Too bad, we couldn't get to revisit Vega, because of those amoral actions, but overall, it was really fun. Althior/K-Nut: I like Althior. Don't really know why, though. Like I said in the analysis of #94, I just like how he's somewhat dark and moody, but actually still a nice guy. Of all the characters, I think Althior was really the most well-suited to be the party leader. His self-centered, too, but he can manage to lay back on the greed enough to look after the well-being of his party members. En Sabah Nur/Jebediahs: Oh yeah . I had never quested with Nur before and since I mostly only half-read other quests, I didn't know the character all that well, but god, I loved the man. He's so, I don't know really,... Quirky? He's dark and brooding with a passion for power and knowledge, but he can be weird and funny most of the times, too. Someone said it before, but in terms of behaviour, Nur reminds me of Master Roshi from DBZ . Here's a fine example of the weird humor I mean. When all others are actively trying to defend their choice of siding with the Wolfgang, this is what Nur said: That just cracked me up . Sarge/Pyro: Sarge and Eric are two characters that think very much alike, so it was no wonder they got along once they got to set aside their petty rivalry. For that, I'd have to "thank" Throlar in a way, because he was the external enemy that made Eric and Sarge join forces. If it had been for him, there probably would've been more quarrels between the two. Sarge is a cool character, though. The old, though, chain-smoking ex-pirate stands out somewhat in Heroica. He's even more greedy and self-centered than Eric, I think. He's also pretty bad-megablocks in battle, holy shit those Zoidberg Gauntlets and that Pegleg . Throlar/Lord Duvors: Can't really add much more to what the others have said. Throlar is well RP'ed, overall, but his bursts of jealousy and anger towards the others got really annoying at times. It's just the character, I know, but then you as a player also posted some rude remarks towards Sandy and us and that just makes it more difficult to differentiate between character and player. I actually liked Throlar better in #94. Now, it seemed that you didn't want Throlar to "underperform" in terms of rudeness and amorality compared to all the other PC's that you just had him argue with us all the time, to prove he's "badass", too, when in fact that's not necessary. Throlar was the only one who cared about the mutants and that's a facet I liked. The fact that he is, actually, differen from the other PC's. Eric/Me: Like #94, this quest seemed really well-suited for Eric. I really enjoyed interacting with the other party members, because all of them seemed to have ulterior motives and whatnot. In #15, there was Maurice Ratibor to keep Eric in check, but now, there was nobody. Althior tried, but effectively couldn't care less if Eric did something stupid. It was as if he actually enjoyed the Nord's antics at times (not the heavy, important actions, but smaller ones like bickering with Throlar or flirting with Peri). I'm quite content with the way I played Eric in this quest and thanks for all the kudos from the others . #94, the two Bonaparte quests and this one were definitely amongst my favorite ones to play the character and I think that shines through in the RP. Like I said, I really liked the party here and I'd love to quest with them again. It was probably one of my favorite party's to be in (the one with Erdy, Hybros and Maurice in #15 is probably my favorite to date, followed by this one, tied with #42's party). So, thanks for the quest Sandy (and the other party members). I really liked it .
15. "I can be your daddy, though, eheheheh", Dzahr joked. Somewhat more serious, he then invited the Heroes to take place in a wooden wagon, drawn by a pair of horses. "This ride'll take a while, folks. It might get bumpy, too, so buckle up. Not that I've got buckles back there, it's just the expression, tee-hee!" Followed by a trail of dust, the wagon started its journey to Farrech. Soon, the bustling Port Glazmouth was but a small speck on the horizon. The Heroes now truly found themselves in the Empire of Dastan. "So uhmm, what do you folks do for a living?", Dzahr asked, trying to break the monotony of the ride. 16. "He ain't a king yet, so enough with the saluting already.", Eric dryly said. Ulric may be Eric's chief now, the Nord wasn't quite ready to bend his knee to the werewolf yet, if ever. The Nord valued his independence, although he understood the use of a strong overlord. Some people just need an iron fist to guide them. Just not him. Eric shrugged. "I don't know, really..." He eyed the other heroes each go their way. There he was then, 'alone' with Periwinkle and a big bag gold. "I guess leaving the sewers would be a first step." Now that the Raider found himself in the familiarity of Eubric and its abundance of women once more, he was having serious doubts on having brought the Harlot all the way here. After all, Mariel roamed the city, too...
17. "10 Gold total will do, miss. I ain't looking to rip you off like some other blokes in the transportation business might do. I'm honest, you see?" Dzahr shrugged and rubbed his chin. "Hmmm, I guess I could accept that remedy. Fine, I'll take you North for a remedy!" QM Note: I'm off to a wedding shortly, where I'll be all day, so no further updates today.
18. Eric listened intently to what was being said. He didn't really like the way Althior continuedly painted him as a weak-spined turncoat, Eric did have a bit more scrupules than that. It is true he did like the money that was offered, but more than that, the Nord had found a powerful ally with whom he could take out the Bonapartes. Ulric vision for Eubric didn't quite follow Eric's to the letter, but there were more than enough parallels to make him an objective ally. The witch was something else, though. Even as she tried her best to come off as friendly, Eric simply didn't trust her. She was a sneaky one, ready to do anything to further her cause. "Garmr, Ulric, ... these are names that have a familiar sound to my ears. Tell me, do you happen to be a man of the North, per chance?", Eric asked. He then continued with more on topic questions. "When will we receive our pay and how will we know you require our services again in the future? Also, about those titles of nobility. Can we choose whichever rank we please? What are its benefits, both financial and political? Do we inherit branches and business of the current Houses?"
19. "Oooh, my, my greenskins! No wait, that's just me goggles, tee-hee! So, y'all are looking for a ride, eh? I can take you, no problem. Taking people places is my trade, see.",Dzahr said in a coarse voice. Dzahr leaned on his pitchfork and readjusted his goggles. He pointed at the sign. "That's my sign right there. I'm Dzahr, of Dzahr Express. The Service that Takes You Places. And young 'un, my service don't need no guards. A ride to Farrech, eh? That's quite the distance. Long way up North. Trip like that'll cost ya 10 Gold. Unless, there's a better offer you can make me?"
20. "Let's go collect our payment," Eric replied with a crooked smile. Thumbs tucked behind his belt, the Nord had watched the downing of the Tower with a slight feeling of pride. He was amongst those who had taken down a piece of legend.
21. Ah, whoops! I thought everybody left the room together, following Eric. No problem then . Eric looked disdainful at the trapped Dwarf and rolled his eyes. He would've left the noisy, no-good Dwarf down there, but in this small game of politics that was going on at the moment, Eric simply couldn't do as he wished. He'd have to bide his time. Perhaps get in a better standing with the Wolf-Headed Messiah and then persuade him of the weakness of these particular members of the Fearsome Four, or whatever the Hel their name was. Then he could take care of them both, Hodurr and that foolish and meak Walbartan. Eric grinned. "Let's put to the torch to this place. Show us your magic, Dain"
22. QM Note:*insert Professor Farnsworth voice* Good news everyone! There was enough sunlight to take some photos when I got home, so I can actually post a picture now. Yay! The Heroes thanked the merchant and then went on their way, following the instructions they had received. Indeed, as the half-cobbled dusty street ended, a stables was near. A signpost read: "Dzahr Express - To the Dastanese border and the great Beyond!". Next to the slogan there was a small asteriks that led the reader to tiny painted letter at the bottom of the sign. They informed that, "Dzahr Express does not actually take its passengers outside of Dastan. Let it be known so none can claim otherwise." A man of --to the Heroes, at least-- unknown species looked up. His stone-grey skin was tough and patchy, with flesh-colored spots that were especially prominent in the face. The eyes were large and when he grinned at the sight of potential customers, the Heroes noticed his teeth were especially pointed and sharp. Clearly, the individual's species were accustomed to arid and more dry climates. "..."
23. "I'm actually right here...", the Nord muttered incomprehensibly as the others were talking about him. Eric simply grunted at the statement. Peri might mean something to the Nord, but she definitely did not mean the world to him and if she would obstruct his path, he'd be sure to take her out. "A noble title in the Olegard's trading hub seems quite powerful to me. I care little for magic and such trinkets."
24. "Sure I can! Just just follow this street until you get to the edge of town. There you'll see some stables. They're owned by Dzahr, he can take you wherever you want." QM Note: The weather's been really lousy around here, so I didn't get the chance to take most pictures like I wanted. The next few updates will probably be without them. I'll add them later. The sets are all made, but my photography setup really sucks without good sunlight .
25. "Quite safe, yes. The routes are often used, so only foolish brigands would try to steal from the travellers. Even now, with the slight turmoil in Dastan and the lower number of military patrols guarding the routes, they are still a very safe means of travel. And you all look like you can defend yourselves, so I wouldn't fear." "Stations, stables, waypoints,... whatever you want to call them. These are services on the outskirts of Port Glazmouth that will take you anywhere in the Empire. There are many different kinds. Those that rent horses, those who take you to your destination in a cart or carriage." "With an Empire the size of Dastan, you're bound to have some means of transportation in every town or city. Not all are wealthy enough to own their own horse, aepyorni, camel or carriage to take them places."
