  1. "You tell me, Lars. What can you add to the collective? What collective are you speaking of anyway?", Felix asked. The more 'answers' he got, the more puzzling the whole situation became. He turned to his team mates. "What do you make of all this? Should we release the creature?" The Chimeran paused and looked at the tank: "I have a bad feeling about this. I don't trust... whatever it is we are speaking to, but it seems like the only opportunity to get some answers." Felix addressed Lars once again: "Did Lupin Biotech specifically hire you to guard their premises? I mean, you think they did it to lure the creature here from the dark realm and then have it connect with you?" The Chimeran frowned as he couldn't yet see the connection between the dots. All cards or parties seemed to be on the table, but Felix couldn't establish a story line or relationship between any as of yet. Numerous thoughts raced through his mind. "Who was the winning party in this scenario? Was it Lupin, because they managed to succeed in their experiment? Or did Lars benefit by discovering his connection to this creature... or collective?" Felix remembered the O'kuruk scientist worriedly watching over Lars' body back in the real world. "Why would Lars let go of his 'self' and 'real life' in favor of this ethereal state?"
  2. An inquisitive look came to Felix's face as he raised an eyebrow, hearing Agent Lars' answers. "Riiiight..." He pointed his thumb at Varen. "What he asked. So you're calling each other from the Void? Did the people from Lupin use you to lure the creature here? What is that creature anyway?"
  3. "No problem. Agent Lars, am I right?" Felix asked and followed up with another question to check his theory: "Or are we speaking to this?," he said and pointed towards the tank, "this creature or whatever it is. Can you shed some light on the situation? What happened?"
  4. Felix nodded. "I was thinking something similar, too. Perhaps they used the Thudaal's natural connection to the dark realm to draw in the creature and now their consciousness is linked or transplanted." The Chimeran cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders. "Alright, here goes nothing. I'll leave the restraints on, but I'll open the Environmental Filter to see its reaction."
  5. "Well, I can't make much of these numbers, but we can at least say this thing is very much alive. What do you say, should I open the environmental restraints and see how it reacts and if that might affect Lars here?"
  6. "Alright, I'm in!" Felix hollered jubilantly. "Though sadly, I can't seem to access everything. Damn it!" "Hmm, let's check out this...thing's... Neural Activity and Respiration Reports. It seems dormant... for now"
  7. Carefully eyeing the whole scene, Felix scratched his chin while trying to figure out the next move. Wanting to share in the knowledge Polaris uncovered, he decided to 'read' the cube as well and touched it (mostly for RP reasons, because otherwise I wouldn't be able to know what Polaris saw exactly). "Looks like Lupin Bio-Tech was into sketchy business. Perhaps they bit off a chunk more than they can chew," Felix said as his eyes traced the strange wyrm in the container once more. He stepped away from Lars and moved towards the computer to see if he could procure some extra information from it, if need be even using his Hacking Skills to see if he can uncover any data.
  8. "Heh, smooth," Felix laughed. Felix cautiously entered the storage room and moved towards to the Thudaal. While inching closer, he made sure to keep an eye on the purple tank, trying to figure out its contents (Nature check). "Agent Lars?," the Chimeran asked in a calm and soothing manner, not wanting to startle the stranger in whatever it was he was doing.
  9. "Let's hope this sliding floor is the only problem that comes with that alarm and no new drones are sent," Felix chuckled softly.
  10. Thanks for your answers, all! I know there's no set or clear aesthetic as of yet, but your replies do help me get a better picture of what the Five Years War might've looked like visually or what an army or soldier might look like in GATS. I personally find it difficult sometimes to know when something is too fantasy or too sci-fi to fit the science fantasy umbrella, so having some visual cues like you all pointed at really helps .
  11. "Interesting," he muttered and ran his finger over the empty space, checking to see if lots of dust had settled there already or if there were indications that the cube was only recently taken. His eyes having adjusted to the dim light, Felix also looked around for anything out of the ordinary or perhaps a set of tracks that could help the case.
  12. Seconded! Interesting character as well, CMP. Love the flair she brings already . Very nice fig builds too, WBD and Duvors. Lovely selection and mix of pieces. EDIT: Just a general fluff/aesthetics question or musing, but how do armies and soldiers look like in GATS? Probably very dependent on species, planet or galactic affiliation, but I have a hard time forming a visual. Does science fantasy mean it's kind of Star Wars-y (probably too science fiction already) or more like Nexo Knights with medieval-like armor? Or something in between?
  13. His eyes adjusting to the dimly-lit room, Felix surveyed the shelves until he suddenly noticed one of them appeared to be missing a cube. Perhaps his eyes were deceiving him, or maybe it was just nothing, but the feline decided to check it out anyway (the middle shelf of the second unit from the right). Hearing Polaris' remark, Felix replied: "Makes sense since Lupin company is a bio-tech firm and I'm guessing this is one of their data storage facilities." Following Polaris' example, Felix also interacted with a random cube to check its content. "Perhaps more might be going on here than was let on at first," he mused in his mind, before shaking his head. "Investigate first before jumping to conclusions, man. Build the case. Build the case!"
  14. "Those were some rookie mistakes I made. I'm team leader with Aetherdiving experience. I'm supposed get us through this thing," Felix remarked, slightly agitated with his performance. "I mean, I've been out of it for some time, but I believed I still had it in me, you know." With a loud ruckus Felix planted his foot on one of the drones. "Pretty sure they're goners", he smirked. "Let's try that door now, shall we." Felix checks to see if the door is open now.
  15. Felix holstered his gun and let out a high-pitched whistle as he surveyed the scene. He pinched his forehead in contemplation as he reviewed the battle internally. "Definitely your best act, Mao", he thought to himself, "are ya losing it, son?" The Chimeran patted Varen on the shoulder, but looked away when he started to wretch. "There, there, ami." "I should've come up with a better strategy for this. Next time, no one is going down on my watch." Felix collected the loot from the drones and distributed amongst his companions. "Job well done, Polaris," he said as he gave her the Stun Sword. "Same goes to you, Varen." Felix gives the Ion Repeater to Varen and the Stun Sword to Polaris. "Now that we've dealt with these flying heaps of junk, how about we take a peek inside, see?"
  16. "I think we need to get closer to each other," Felix said, glad to see Varen stable. "I'll lay down some suppressive fire and come closer to you (C2), while you come towards me (B2). You can then rally me and I'll take out that bastard once I've reloaded my clip (next round)" Proposed course of action: Felix moves to C2 and shoots Drone A Polaris moves to B2 and Rallies Felix Next turn: Felix shoots Drone A (I doubt it'll take me out this turn?)
  17. Felix rubbed his face as things spiraled out of control fast. "Shoot, this isn't how I pictured my first mission to go," he thought. Eyeing Varen on the ground, he concurred with Polaris. "Yeah, go ahead and check if he's alright. I'll see if I can buy us some more time." Felix moves to D3 and attempts to Hack Drone A.
  18. Felix watched as Varen unexpectedly dropped to the ground. "Damn," he hissed and turned to Polaris. "Okay, you're up: rally me" He squinted as he lined up his pistol, hoping to finally clear the last drone. Felix shoots at Drone A. OoC: Can we switch our places in the Battle Order since we both failed our Initiative rolls at the start?
  19. "Let's mop this up!" Felix shoots at Drone A. (I don't think there's a lot more left to do for me otherwise, no?)
  20. "Job well done, Polaris", Felix said and nodded in approval at the Chimeran's actions. "One more shot and this'll probably be over, right?" Felix rallies Varen as well. Battle Order: Polaris Felix Varen
  21. "Alright, let's roll!" Varen rallies Polaris Felix moves to C3, then rallies Polaris Polaris attacks Drone B
  22. OoC: I don't think that will work? I don't think I can split up my actions, e.g. move first, get Rallied and then shoot later. I think Moving and Shooting need to happen consecutively?
  23. "Alright, how about we turn it around? Polaris rallies Varen Varen shoots Drone B Felix takes another shot at Drone A", Felix proposed. "This cool for y'all?"
  24. OOC: Understandable, makes sense. "Alright, I'm glad that worked," Felix said relieved. "I have a Plasma Potion I might use on Polaris. How about: 1. Felix uses Plasma Potion on Polaris 2. Varen Rallies Polaris 3. Polaris attacks Drone B"
  25. I'm still so used to old Heroica's combat system, it never even occurred to me we could use proficiencies in battle to analyze the enemies or alter the course of battle. Fingers crossed we can turn the odds into our favor.
