Personally, I like Onua having gold armor and a silver hammer. It's just that I wish they had made his shoulder pads gold as well. Maybe that would just be too bright, I don't know, but I like having different colors for weapons and for armor. Gunmetal and black would be too boring though.

LockdownTF was referring to a similar piece to the one that appeared in 8923, so just doing that wouldn't work, although you may be able to find the correct piece by looking at other parts in the same category.

Old Bionicle sets: To open or not to open
DraikNova replied to Aethersprite's topic in LEGO Action Figures
On the other hand, a lot of 2007 was pretty horrible, and some of the ones that weren't horrible horrible in terms of the build, like Lesovikk, suffered the most from the socket problem. What's better, an out-of-place fragile set that is composed of pieces that are less than compatible with most of your current collection, or getting (part of) the money needed to buy newer sets? -
You're referring to the pneumatic connector piece, which was used for all of the monsters in the second wave of Invasion From Below (2014) and in Rocka's Stealth Machine from the first half of 2014 as well.

Old Bionicle sets: To open or not to open
DraikNova replied to Aethersprite's topic in LEGO Action Figures
2007 is the year most famous for it's socket-breaking problems. But unless you want to sell it, there's no reason not to open it. If you do want to sell it, keep it closed. Completely new sets sell for slightly higher prices. -

It's kind of funny how the Jurassic Park "Velociraptors" don't even look like reasonably accurate Deinonychi anymore, thanks to the revised anatomy indicated by recent studies. Also, I'm pretty sure the focus will be on the I. Rex. I have no doubt that they won't make it a semi-sapient bad guy, with the sort of intelligence demonstrated by the raptors in the earlier movies. In other news, I hope that this time, they don't make all of the characters seem like idiots. But then again, I doubt they'll do that, since adding remote-activateable collars filled with anesthetics, which would be the logical approach, would make it very short movie. The whole making-a-new-dinosaur-out-of-bits-and-pieces-of-others-thing also kind of spoils that possibility.Back on-topic, I hope that they release some larger pterosaurs at some point. The generic Pteranodon is cool and all, but kind of boring compared to, say, a Quetzalcoatlus. And, like everyone else, I hope that a possible second wave will feature the mosasaur. I have fond memories of the Dinosaurs theme mosasaur, and with the improved techniques and lack of multi-build constraint, I have full confidence that the modern equivalent of that set would be awe-inspiring.

I don't know, springs (ever heard of slinkies?) sounds like an essential ingredient of steampunk to me.

They're not lazy, they're just bad design choices. Really bad design choices.

Personally, what I would want is a combination of the two designs, with a vertical bar on one side and a horizontal one on the other. Perfect for making human-esque hands. That would probably be ridiculously complicated to make, though.

I'll see if I can review "Enter the Serpent" within the next two weeks. I'm going to need to fix my mini-studio, though.

[MOC] CCBS Rock Band (WIP title)
DraikNova replied to TheOneVeyronian's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Awesome bass guitar! If I remember correctly, though, the number of strings should be 5. -

Nice! I can understand why you wouldn't use the 2.0 shield for a guitar; LEGO used that themselves for Breakout Stringer, after all. Can you show pictures of the band members please? They seem rather interesting themselves. -
I'm pretty sure that that's not (supposed to be) allowed.

Yeah, the bar is greyed out then and doesn't respond to attempts to click it.

I kind of like the typo coolcab made. "Brinestein" makes a lot of sense as a nickname for Evil Brainstein. It's also kind of funny how different the brain printing looks if you look at it from four or from thirty centimeters away.

I have no clue what you're talking about; I haven't see that show.

Finally, a good use for those awful head pieces. Mind if I copy that design?

I think the "tile" on DV is actually one of the street sign pieces. Connecting that to the torso would be a lot easier than connecting a tile. -
If the new Nixel, who does indeed have a very mad-sciency look about him (which would explain where the Major got his cloud-heli thing from), is Major Nixel's right hand, I think we can predict about half the jokes in that season of the TV show already.

It's annoying if you want to build something in just black or already have a colorscheme planned for something and don't want to add blue to it. However, I'm thinking I might get some of the printed shells to see what I can do with them. -
It seems to me like it probably will be. Too bad that they couldn't make a brick-built version of that shrine-thing, but that would eat up at least $5 from the budget.

At least they didn't print the armor add-ons as well, although it's probably only the fact that that'd be nigh-impossible that stopped whoever made these from doing exactly that.
