Tweaking the Haunted House
DraikNova replied to ResIpsaLoquitur's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Covering up the studs makes it look a lot less old and "broken-down" to me. -
Not sure how far this classifies as sci-fi, because, while the the source (No idea where this is from, although I've heard of it) may be sci-fi, this doesn't seem much more sci-fi than a monster truck. Pretty good MOC, though.

Yeah, normally the price is stunning as well. And I agree, it's a shame that original ideas never seem to be as popular as licensed ones. You'd think people would want new ideas, not just remade old ones.

Nice and compact. The little bit of tr. orange on the back adds the necessary splash of colour.

Very funny.

Review Review - 70501 Warrior Bike
DraikNova replied to LuxorV's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, this review pretty much confirmed my opinion of this set. Awesome lightning sword, the tread area looks better than you'd expect, the back looks pretty bad but the firing mechanism works reasonably well (even just the length of the vehicle is pretty good with flick-fire missiles).- 8 replies

Basic, but cool.

A few hundred? What are you making, a life-size T-Rex?

Luckily for me, what with all the attention Chima is getting (well, a display case and a screen showing the mini-clips is more than nothing), Ninjago isn't anywhere near sold out here. Either that or they're just restocking quickly.

Apparently it's going to just be the general summer release.

Nope, there's no sticker on the tr. light blue tile on the box either and all the stickers on the canopy are where they are now as well. Oh, and the little Insectoid base has a minor launch function.

The Wiki has a lot of pictures of the Galactic Titan: Back of the box: Full-size picture Close-up of the cockpit: Full-size picture The back of the vehicle while connected: Full-size picture Larva: Full-size picture

I wonder how that titan build would look if the Breakout torso shells it uses were tr. blue (and the "normal" torso shells were replaced with Breakout ones).
-
Well, it looks like a streamlined cruise-ship with wings stuck on.

Sounds good. I'm sure this will be (one of, if not the) highlight of BFVA (what is that actually?).

With that in mind, here's another concept: Buggoid Pack Price: $15 Parts: 175 Minifigures: Three Green Buggoids, two Red Buggoids (and a new one? In purple perhaps?) Features small, hexagonal hive segment, filled with six purple cocoons. Each Buggoid has a small blaster. Mosquitoid Pack Price: $15 Parts: 175 Minifigures: Five Mosquitoids (color-reversed version with dark red body, green antennae and red wings?) Features small, hexagonal hive segment, filled with six purple cocoons. Each Mosquitoid has a medium-size blaster (one of those made using the scorpion piece). Elite Pack Price: $15 Parts: 175 Minifigures: Three Armored Mosquitoids/Roachoids, three Larvae Features small, hexagonal hive segment, filled with three purple cocoons and three pink small ones. The Roachoids/Armored Mosquitoids each have a pair of dark red "claws". The idea is that one could buy several of these packs to build one giant hive.

Welcome to the community! Thanks for the review!

I should probably link to my largest HF MOC then: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/347785.

Hmm...A helipad would be kind of strange in space, but how about this: Z-43 Launch Pad Price: $50 Parts: 450 Minifigures: Ashlee Starstrider, Solomon Blaze and Orange Robot + Green Buggoid Features a medium-sized platform with four small "jets", one orange, one green, one red and one blue. The main feature is a small rocket and it's launch systems, piloted by the Orange Robot. I'm wondering if I should change the rocket to a turret or just a slightly larger "jet".

I would say about 60.

Does anyone feel like experimenting in LDD to make an improvised version of the head?

I'd definitely use that leg design on most of my larger builds, all of which have stability issues and badly-made feet currently.
