  1. Humorous story, I enjoyed it!
  2. I agree! That looks really good, although if you could have substituted a sheet of paper for the cushions and whatnot, it would have been better. But very cute little boat - and a monkey!!!
  3. I really like the foamy waves, and the fish are a nice touch too! Great pair of ships also - the curves are excellent!
  4. Really cool wave! The curve is great. Cute fish too!
  5. That does look fascinating... ironically I'm writing about that time period right now!
  6. Thanks KB! Thank you! Thanks blackdeathgr! Minifigure poses are a big part of a terrifying scene like this!
  7. Humorous as always Captain! Very... erm... interesting figurehead.
  8. Very cool waves! The exocoetus volitans look cute too!
  9. Removing those 1x1 round tiles is indeed quite a chore - I find that a minifigure-sized crowbar or wrench works the best. Brick separators are no good for that, despite the small end on one side. The wrench does start to dig into your finger on the opposite end after a while, but at least for me, with short fingernails, it's about the only option! Ah, I understand... I'm not good at combining builds either - and the size is obviously impressive nonetheless!
  10. WOW!! The size of this is amazing, and I love the way every single layout is unique, but still cohesive overall! So many awesome sections... the King's Garden might be my favorite but the gazebos, garden of love, and tunnel are extremely well done also! The way you did the paths looks very nice too. And I can't begin to fathom how long it must have taken to pose all those figures! As for your 250 ladies... Just one thing I'm missing... any chance we'd be able to get a picture of all these together (with maybe the exception of the queen's garden). I'd love to just get a feel for the full size of this!
  11. Really nice build, I love the high tide/low tide variation! The colors on the fort, especially the muddy looking bricks on the bottom (totally something I need to copy!), are spot on! Overall just a great job! I think I'd license as commerce rather than plantation, since the commercial dock/warehouse (or I would assume the fort is being used as such) takes up a considerably larger portion of the build, specially considering that most of the "plantation" is underwater most of the time! But it could be either I guess!
  12. Hey! But Ulandus has pretty much merged with the High Council - that is, Ulandian supporters on the mainland have. As for Ulandus itself, I have no idea what's up down there and don't really care either (never did care, actually, just joined Ulandus because I thought it would be the underdog, and boy was I right ). In the long run though if I recall correctly Ulandus actually did about as well as the HC if not better. However, actual Ulandian troops aren't likely to be on the mainland anymore. No alliances with the DK for me, if you please! That zombified mummy ought to be in his grave, and all he wants is to change Kaliphlin into Nocturnus! But anyways, I would imagine some HC&U supporters would fight against the same enemy as the DK, but probably not work in very close connection with him (in fact, some might attack the DK as often as the spire!).
  13. As Faladrin said, yep, we all put our heads together and decided to name our heroes Brickwall! That's kinda what I was going for... though stop motion didn't occur to me! I think it would be one of those stop motions where being able to defy gravity would come in handy! Thanks! Thank you Faladrin! I actually hadn't really realized how colorful my builds tend to be until people started commenting on it these last couple builds... but I guess I really do usually include lots of different colors!
  14. Thank you Bodi! The more detail, the merrier, say I! Thanks Captain! I think I'll have to give Garmadon credit for that idea actually - he was running out of time for a Cat C build himself so I figured rather than let the concept go to waste I'd swipe it up! A little difficult to pull off, but worth it I think! I tried to get the blur on the close up pictures but it's true that the overviews don't have that effect... hmm. On the one hand I want people to see the build, but like you say, it can really help with the sense of action and motion! Thanks! Thanks Ayrlego! I think I lean toward a colorful style partly because my collection is spread across a pretty wide spectrum of colors, so if I tried to do all darker tones I'd run out pretty quickly! This was one of the categories that first caught my attention... initially I had wanted to do a different kind of sea monster, but given the dock idea it kind of needed to be something with tentacles or what have you. Thanks! Thank you! I love adding those! Thanks Garmadon! The shaping of the head was both harder and easier than I had anticipated... if that makes sense... at first I thought it would be really easy, but then as I went on having more and more trouble with other parts, I thought it would be super difficult!
  15. Sad to hear that in a way, but we all have to choose between hobbies/activities/responsibilities at times. So enjoy your choice, and God bless you too!
  16. The palm leaf roof looks really nice! The idea of building it into a rock is really neat too, and well executed with the slant!
  17. Very nice little build, great slope on the house! Those crows (?) on the tree look really good too!
  18. Excellent entry Captain Wolf, I really like the accurate, real-battle feel you've achieved here! Great posing and some really nice shots!
  19. Definitely one of the funniest entries to this challenge - hilarious cartoonish shape and colors!
  20. Excellent entry Garmadon, the rockwork and jungle look great and the little fort is kinda cute too! Love that turtle also, and some great action shots! But my favorite part about this is the water - great technique that really looks beautiful here!
  21. For Eslandola It was just an average, ordinary day in this little Marderian seaside settlement. The water lapped against the dock, citizens strolled hither and thither, sailors went about their business - which business, evidently, was nothing more than poking their nose into everyone else's business - housewives bustled around importantly, children laughed and ran - in short, the day was perfectly normal and unexciting. And then IT came. It came slowly, sneakily... barely making ripples in the water. It's tentacles slithered up the stone pier so softly no one even knew it was there. Suddenly a dead silence fell over the bustling docks. You could have heard a pin drop as the monster slithered over the mossy stones... still silently... still slowly... but still relentlessly. For a moment, time seemed to stand still. For a moment, no one moved. For a moment, no one could believe that this was more than a hideous dream. The next moment... terror! This town, at least, will not be sending aid to the war effort. Well, this was a bit out of my comfort zone... Not unhappy with the result however. Tried out a new wall technique on that tallest house! And of course the Kraaken was quite a first... but not too bad, all things considered! Thanks for looking!
  22. They say a picture is worth a thousand words... and I hope it is in this case, because I really don't have time for a thousand words... Yet another enthusiastic Captain "Brickwall" has met his demise... It's probably unnecessary to say that this was just a quick build to help the team out... pretty fun anyhow, thanks for looking! Edit: For Eslandola, in case that wasn't obvious...
  23. Neat little build Purvel! The sails on the micro ship look very nice!
  24. Really cool build Ayrlego, I especially like that statue! Four feet on the ground... he must have had a nice long life. (If I recall correctly, two feet: killed in action, three feet: died of wounds received in action: 1 foot... well, I really don't know what one foot would mean... ) All those arches on the front give the facade a wonderful look! Great interior too!
