  1. Thanks! And especially thanks for moving it to the top, saved me the trouble of deciding whether to edit my post or bump it! And glad you like the story so far, there's plenty more coming! In fact, here is part three: _________________________________ June 1st. After a long stay in Albion, we trekked up the rest of the countryside, spending many a pleasant hour in the farms and towns scattered all along our way. As we went farther and farther, the climate became colder and colder, and I began to see why Ageven had chosen to be here in summer. Fortunately, Valholl is not too far toward the north; not only will that save us from some of the cold, but higher up there are said to be trolls and other hideous beasts hiding in the mountain caves and caverns. And of course there is Ondylion, where we are now, located along the road to the capital, a well fortified town that has nothing to fear from any enemy. June 7th. Finally, and despite the grueling cold and winding mountain paths, we are in Valholl. Here resides Persifiya Tarfazi, the Kaliphlinian ambassador in Valholl. She herself gave us a tour of the city, around the walls, especially through the Kaliphlin Coin Trader's area, (where Ageven must needs add a gemstone to his sword), into the bustling market, culminating finally in a visit with the great Jarl (or King) Nibelung, the ruler of Mitgardia, a kind-hearted older man with the strategy and tact of Persifiya herself. But despite having enjoyed myself here in Mitgardia, I will not be sorry when the day comes to leave this cold behind and journey back to the desert! _______________________________ I hope any readers enjoyed that section as well, there are a couple more photos of the vig here as well!
  2. Great build, the camp looks very realistic, and I love the roofless church! Your placement of the different pieces of snow also works very well!
  3. Me too. I would certainly not want the same sets, comparing them to the newer sets, they certainly wouldn't sell well and I don't think LEGO would even consider a 1:1 re-release. As someone pointed out in a different thread, sets that don't exist yet are certainly rarer and most likely more desireable than old sets would be. Re-releasing anything sounds unlikely. It sounded more to me like a castle theme but set in a different place/style than prevous ones.
  4. Nice analogy! And certainly put the mitgardian colors somewhere though!
  5. I'm not sure how we're doing multiple entries, but here's my library anyway (click-picture-topic): Are we going to have only one entry voted on (in which case I'm actually not sure which one to pick), or will voters vote for all your entries as once? Maybe the best solution would be to list all the entries for voting, and then add up the total votes for each builder (eg. I do two creations, and Legonardo does two, the voting would look like this: 1. Kai NRG A 2. Kai NRG B 3. Legonardo A 4. Legonardo B (I know that doesn't represent the actual creations even so far, but just as an example). Then, at the end all the votes for me, whether for A or B, would be added together. (I wouldn't want one of my MOC's to detract from the other!), same with Legonardo, and that's how we would determine the winner. Just an idea, you probably already have something in mind, but just in case. ). Edit: And what will likely be my last entry... at least for a while! (picture-topic )
  6. That sounds really intriguing, I actually started out trying to do a sphinx rather than a temple (I'm not good at building large statues, probaby because I give up after the mouth, which never looks right), my idea was (a bit farfetched, admitedly), to build a sphinx with an opening mouth that could swallow a minifigure and send him down a chute to the bottom (red chamber). I know, totally impossible, at least for me, but if I could have done that... Anyway, I wanted to say that I thought it was really great that last time, at least at the begining, there were no thumbnails in the voting thread. I hope it will be the same this time, since these are all so big, and for mine at least, a major part (the red chamber) is completly invisible from the front. Just to say that I appreciated the lack of thumbnails earlier. Regardless, I've completed that library I've been putting off and off and off, here it is: (clicky!) And I haven't forgotten about part three of my travel log, I was actually hopeing to post both at the same time, but I didn't quite finish the vig last night (so likely later to day). After that, I'll start building for Valaryo, I've already got a god idea (though, like most of my "good ideas" it promises to be very difficult...).
  7. Alright, here is that library I started ages ago! This was remarkably easy to build, got it done in five hours or so (and I wasn't working nonstop!). Oh, yes, I started it ages ago, but then I had to destroy the small amount of progress I had made for Challenge V. So I did get the entire thing done in five hours... not as impressive as Ecc by a long shot, but I was happy with the speed! Some "students" get there best sleep here (after all, how are you supposed to study after a night in the hot tub?)... Fortunatly, others are a bit more studious... ...even if they have green faces. (I'm starting to think that wasn't the best face for my sigfig's companion!) And here is a librarian, organizing books! C&C are welcome!
  8. Don't worry, the arrows aren't barbed, plus they're blunt tipped... Thanks!
  9. At least, we very well could see one or more of each animal group before the official release - all we're missing is a croc!
  10. I love the minifigs around the map, the tent also looks excellent! Love the break in the bridge, it looks very realistic! My only (slight) criticism would be with the water, the change of color almost seems too abrupt. Maybe some more trans-blue would fix that? Great job anyways, though I'm not a fan of sand green you've used it well!
  11. Certainly too "pretty" for my taste, although I might pick up the bag for the other things (clams, spyglasses, leaf, etc.)
  12. Yeah, as far as this series goes, the mermaid will probably just be a mermaid, which I don't mind at all, I don't want a medusa (don't partucularly want a mermaid either, for that matter!).
  13. Thanks, that's a good idea (too late now of course), though I don't have much green I probably could have done something like that! I'm very glad you liked the roof, it was probably the hardest part to build! @Torgar, thanks! I'm with kabel on this one, two votes would make me happy!
  14. Thanks! I'm glad you like the roof, I really had a tough time with that, since I was running out of dark red even before I started closing off the front. Again, thanks for the comments!
  15. Thanks! Those wolves look really bad under their helments, but the lion isn't worse (and not really better either) than I had expected - although apperantly there are no under helment shots.
  16. Nice photo editing (at least I assume you weren't able to get all those effects just by taking pictures), love the architectural style you've used (though I know nothing about what it looked like in the movie!). Great job!
  17. Thanks Z, I like that technique, might try it on a smaller scale should I ever get treads (I wonder if there would be a different piece that would work?). I always have wondered how you did that tower, glad you shared it!
  18. Yeah, that's what I was referring to!
  19. Good possibililty, that sounds very likely. And if LEGO did it in green, it wouldn't even have to be a recolor.
  20. Great entry, love all the rock work and those pillars are superb! I see Mitgardians really love waterfalls, your one is fantastic! Great job with all the activity going on inside as well!
  21. Thanks, guys! This was, in fact, going to be my ninja bomb entry - perhaps I should have left the ninja in and seen if pep would give me a break too? Thanks, and I'm interested to see what you can come up with - in *ahem* three days. . .
  22. Welcome to EuroBricks, hope to see you around the Historic Themes Form soon!
  23. Probably the biggest problem for the "Garmech" is that it, like the bigger stone army vehicle on treads, really doesn't look like it would make a sturdy set, or easy to design. If LEGO had been planning on an exclusive, I think they would have tried to make their job a bit easier!
  24. Great job, I love the bridge, this is about as different yet still similar to kabel's as you can get! Fantastic work!
