  1. That poor goat looks a bit overburdened there! The wall is very nice, and the landscaping is neat! It might look more natural if the path wasn't quite so straight though. But your brother did a very nice job anyways!
  2. Excellent job, very nice and tranquil, the houses all look great and the fountain is very nice as well! I'm very glad you were able go build for the tour, you've made some stunning contributions!
  3. Great job, it's nice to see an oil build and excellent work with this one! Love the bubbles and the contrast of black with sand is very nice!
  4. Very nice use of the flags and that bridge looks great as well!
  5. Thanks to all! Yes, it's broken. Figured I might as well put it to use... Yes, it would probably have worked well, but somehow I just decided to add a base... Well no that wasn't exactly my thought... I just figured it might look good and I felt like the vig needed a bit more color (though still a dark tone). Thanks, I was a bit worried people would wonder about a flower growing off a leaf but it seems I needn't have been concerned! Yes, I mentioned it on Flickr but not here, Legonardo and also Andared of Lenfald's grave build were both inspirations!
  6. Very nice landscaping, also liking the shape of the tower roof! I'm not sure the color choice works for me but then I've never really been a fan of tan or dark tan mixed with grey. The swampy area especially looks good though!
  7. Great job, I like the little cottages and the houses on poles are also very nice. The viking atmosphere fits Mitgardia very well!
  8. Great job, the inset sandgreen works really well, I'll have to remember that technique! Also, a minor detail, but it's really neat the way you put the lower (Mitgardian and Avalonian) flags blowing in the wind... very nice touch!
  9. Yes, I really didn't have any plan on where to put it when I started so I wasn't thinking 'mountian', which might have been a problem. Or maybe because I don't have 20/20 vision? Thanks! I can't tell you how pleased I was when I finally came up with that red one!
  10. I second (or third) some of the comments here, you guys have really improved hugely! The wooden structure is really great and the minifigure posing is excellent as well!
  11. Thanks Kayne! I find it hard to believe it's almost been a year already! Thanks de Gothia! I love big cakes! (One day I'm going to have to bake a table sized one...) Thanks! I was very happy with the way the ornaments worked out... especially since they aren't attached to anything! Thanks Eryn! Yes that must have been a challenge to cook! Perhaps it's hollow inside and just iced together? (It actually is hollow though...) Or yeah, magic would have done the trick...
  12. Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment! The sun is actually one of these, which is the reason for the very tall border... to allow accommodation for the rest of it. Even with the height of the border, it still wasn't enough - the water has a pretty noticeable bend upwards in the middle. And, er... doesn't the sun always set in the west? I must admit that part of your comment confused me! (Unless you meant east, in which case, hmm yeah I wasn't paying attention to the map location I guess...) Thanks! It's actually not integrated nearly as well as it looks... just that the horse covers the gaps...
  13. Actually with the new Flickr upgrade everyone gets 1TB of space... which is basically unlimited...
  14. For the beginning of today's tour, we'll stop by Queenscross to remember those who fell in it's glorious Defense. And at one of the tombs a knight mourns his comrade, who fell in the battle. The knight with his shield and all: C&C are welcome! This is my last free-build for June so I hope you enjoy it!
  15. After the past few days - the One Year party, Lion Dance, an exciting Gladiator Battle, a quick trip to the Arkbri Digging site, and then dropping by for an Oliphant hunt - I'm sure all our tourists are ready to unwind! And where better to do this than in Goolag Archipelago's Sunset Bay? An overview of the entire MOC. I actually built this before the party, so that was my inspiration for the border. Only the Bay: In general I think this looked better before I took the pictures (but then I almost always think that...). At least I built the entire thing really fast... I think it took me about three or four hours. Comments are welcome!
  16. Now that's cool! Congrats Masa!
  17. Nice work here Ska, I like the dk tan round piece, it works really well there! Also great work with the bush!
  18. That tree is awesome! Nice job with the vig too though I would have liked to see a bit more detail on the landscaping, it's just a bit odd having this incredibly detailed tree on a ground that's fairly bare. Good work with the figs as well! (How many daughters does Elon have? Or do they just keep appearing as long as there are people for them to marry? ) On another note... wait the PM is marring the ruler's daughter... I'm sure he'll be representing the people impartially...
  19. Nice little build, the sifter is a great idea and the professor looking down with his telescope is very funny!
  20. I hope the gold stays around as well... it's not like I wouldn't build without it, but it gives me the motivation to build Castle as opposed to... well, anything else!
  21. I think that free-builds are scored on a topic basis. In other words, you can put multiple builds in one topic but they would get scored as one (I believe). Though you might get a higher score than if you just posted one. But if you mean doing several parts of a story with each part being a different topic, then I believe those would be scored separately.
  22. So I'm not the only one that has trouble with that? I'm never sure if my backdrop is too small or my build is too big... If I build too big I'm happy with a cm of white on each side... it's easy and almost seamless to enlarge that via paint. Of course, my One Year thing was too big for that even... You know I could go on and on about my photography troubles... I think all you have to do to be able to see a specimen of every single bug in the country is lay down a white sheet of paper... Oh well. Rant over.
  23. Congrats on being blogged Gideon! No surprise, as this is an awesome build, love every bit of it! Your photos are great, it's a good thing that they look like a render! I don't see why you should go for something with a fuzzy surface, white paper seems to work really well. For some people... I have trouble keeping the paper white...
  24. Thanks Masa! I debated whether to post a WIP or not... but I wanted to keep it secret! Oh yes... that cape has seen better days... That's why you should visit Kaliphlin more often! All kinds of three-legged horses! Thanks a ton Z! Thanks Ecc! I know what you mean about the torsos, I've had the same feeling about some others sometimes...
  25. Thanks Z! Do you refer to the top of the mountain/cliff thing or the side in general? If the top... yeah... I just plain ran out... If the side, I was thinking like it was a cliffy mountain... if that makes sense...
