  1. I do not agree with that. I think @MegaRoi 's idea is cool and add a real + to the playability. Based on the last picture of the first post i would: (looking at the picture from left to right): - keep the first axle with the 16T and tan 20T gera as it is; - The second axle (between the first one and the one with the driving ring): remove the 12T gear on the left and place a 12Tbetween the two tan 20T gears; - On the axle with the driving ring, replace the tan 20T by a Blue 20T worm gear, and try to implement the new driving ring, if not, the blue 20T won't mesh. You'll get a functional 2 speed gearbox with neutral point, and, according to your basic idea, be able to see the difference of speed at the wheel between the two gears. Keep it up! S.
  2. Fine! A little friend to my entry What kind of bodywork would you do? naked front end, windshild? Curious to see how it will evolve next days. S.
  3. Maybe you could use this part: LEGO part 30139 - Black Container, Barrel 4 x 4 x 3.5 at BrickScout
  4. I must build a frame like this one, once. My builds are usually 'build like a tank', but your approch is really convicing. And that colorsheme S.
  5. Hi, It's a quiet clever model you propose us! It's a bit sad you didn't post your WIP project earlier and share your build all along the build process, i would have appreciate discuss on your approch, wich is very interresting. Good luck for the contest S.
  6. I am impressed bu the overall size of your model. Bigger than what i imagined. The design is impressive, and the lines are perfectly captured. All the system details are also perfectly balanced and find all their place in the whole build. Really well done. S.
  7. Hi, I just noticed the clever use of parts in the front wheel area. I like the way you fixed the break calliper to the fork. And this ID plate ... S.
  8. Oups, 14 teeth not 12, you're right. Back to the subject. Your bike looks terrific good! I love the color scheme, and the fact it is based on a real life bike. Your build is clean as well, and the details are just perfect balanced. Pure technic style with pure technic build detail. Just one last question, why do you oriented the shiffter's command tilting like this? woudn't it be easyier to use if placed horizontaly? This appart,Bravo!
  9. Good question @Jim and @Milan , i interpreted it as a view of what happend inside, maybe ia also have to place pictures of the single frame (without the engine) ?
  10. This is a quiet original model. I had to look at it twice or more to understand all the work and issues you've managed to fix in this build. Great job and special mention to the rear light combo with 3 bionicle tooth!
  11. Thanks! Coming from both great builders (with terrific entries BTW) it is really an honor! The front end gives me some headeach i must say, Probably the harder part for me. I am often cool with mechanical parts but design and bodywork are harder for me. The comparision picture are usefull to visualize correctly the model i founded. Thanks again. S.
  12. Hi! What an agressive look! A first sight, built in black, this bike could be seen ina mad max production ...And i really like this state of mind. One only things hurts me, it is the choise of thes brand new technologically looking shock absorber. I mean, this typic color is synonym of sportty bike.no? Why not a solution like #42036 B model ? This appart, the whole design is a real piece of art! so many details,...
  13. Thanks! I just forget to change that gear combo! oups. (Thanks to sariel's aplication i can find that this gear combo gives the more linear stages to the gearbox). I should have change it, but your right....i am not sure i get enough chain links to acheive it I'll see if i can change it before the competition ends. The shifter has no limiter, but i placed an indicator of the engaged speed Thanks for comment and support! S.
  14. KATANA SUPERSPORT Main picture: Features: - Suspensions - Direction - 4 speeds gearbox, sequential with shiffter - Breaks - Kickstand Pictures summary: Frame view Topic
  15. KATANA SUPERSPORT - final review Main picture So, here is the final entry for this contest. I'll place her all pictures and info, so finding them out is easyier. The goal for me was to build a new model in the continuous process of building bikes. I tryed to go one step further in the design process and if this step was smaller than expected i am quiet happy of the final design The model features the overal functionalities you may attempt of it in 2021: - Suspensions, - Direction - Working fake engine - Sequential 4 speeds gearbox - breaks - kickstand, DESIGN I based my design on current supersport bike like the kawazaki zx-10r, yamaha r1m, etc...but without the goal to replicate any of them particulay. The green colour was choosen as i got the old lime panels that still look great today, and in another hand, to complete and diversify my bike collection with a popup colour. The main frame's orientation as been choosen strongly tilting to the front so the panel placement gives an agressive and sporty design. It also means that the main chassis has been achieved with crazy angles allother the place. I realized that in an as clean built as possible. The combo of lime green and white works pretty well, and the original lego stickers complete it in a funny good way. The all build is based on a chassis and bodywork elements that come around it, also for the saddle and both front and rear end. Pictures of the overal thing:(front windshild has been replaced by a place holder simple flex tube) Functions The model feature classic suspension to the front, based on the older shock absorber as i find the brand new one too flimsy. The rear suspension setup is based on a multilink setup. This was choose because thanks to this setup, the shock absorber can be placed right behind the rear wheel in a lower place in the chassis. This setup offer then more space on the upper side and alows to keep the saddle lower too. Te gearbox is an evolution of my previous BMW attempt. The whole frame structure is based on technic frame. It results in a sturdier build and less stress on the moving parts. I also get the whole built shorter in lenght by about 3studs. It doesn't seems so important but in affect positively the design. The price to pay was to compact still more all functional linup and cross many time the propulsion line with the shiffter's one. The frame built chassis is a response to this design and functionality datas. The gear box has 4 speeds correctly ordonered and with a linear staging. Notice that the pistons camshaft is build so the pistons have a logical position and ignition order.. The shifter It's a fiabilized version of @legotechnicmastery's design. The shifter's command is placed as in real life at the left foot The support does not interfere with the shiffter's pedal. Breaks : The frame I try to propose something that is as close as possible to realife frame. The engine itself is part of the structural setup. I pay attention to some particular things, resulting from my previous design and experiences. Here is what has finaly been improved: - right lenght of the bike - Place the driving chain at the correct side of the bike - Keep a realistic place for the exhaust line, and finaly correct exhaust design - Eliminate any friction in both driving and shiffting lines - more agressive and finalized design - put a proper kickstand that holds the bike in any circonstance - Have correct positioning for the combo handlebar/saddle/footrest - get a real inclinasion possibility (as it is a sportbike) even with the front suspension compressed (had an incidence on the front fork tilting angle) Comparision with official / other models I didn't build this bike alone. I constantly had other models next to it, and i used them as reference of size, saddle height, etc... here they are: first, next to the official BMW R1200 This BMW is the best combo to my KATANA i find next to the ducati:( a little canabilized ) with the official 42007: And finaly next to my first 4speed bike to date (cool combo too), the KTM. Bonus Hope you'll enjoy it!
  16. well done! Especially the cvt transmission. Brilliant. S.
  17. Hi! Cooool model! Love the compactness of the mechanics Inside. Seems like you've used each and every stud avalaible Inside. Good job, great model, What else? S.
  18. I finalysed the chassis, and i must say you are right, much better I really enjoy this build! here are some pictures so far. I build the whole chassis in red due to the fact all my light gray stock is used by other model. Yesterday evening: And today's state: some mod to the doors: Again, thanks for sharing. I highly recommand this build to everyone. I was continuously surprised by the cleverness of each detail in it. S.
  19. Hello! Here i am so far: I must say i am impressed by the capture of the shape ant this whatever angle you look at it. Instruction are quiet clear and easy to follow, event if some parts are hidden or not clearly shown, but ok, with a little experience in building technic, anyone can follow them. Great job I am also a bit dissapointed by the overall flimsyness of the bodywork witch is a clear consequence of the concept of building separatly frame and bodywork. But overall the work of optimization is great and you have use as few parts as possible. In this theme, it is a piece of art. I'll now build the frame and then maybe have a mod on it. Thanks for sharing! EDIT: I miss a pair of 7X5 black panel. At thirst sight i would have tell everyone :"sure, i got this part", but when searching at it, i didn't find one of them in my inventory. From which set are these parts from?
  20. Ouhhhhhj I love it. I'llbuild it this week end. I think i have the needed part for it. I'll post it here when finished. Thanks for such refreshing model. S.
  21. I spend my (very) few free hours to search for a replacement part for this windshield. Job as begin again and we are in a weird period. It's difficult to find the neccecary time actually. And i didn't find out an acceptable solution. So i'll keep it simple and photograph the model just without anything, witch gives an acceptable rendering. However, i find the time to rebuilt some official lego motorbike to complete the presentation with comparisions with official sets. I also tried to find a new ducati set, but unfortunately, it seems that in europe a major part of retailers are not delivered anymore and this will go on until end of february. Shelves are litteraly ...empty. So for comparision with the Ducati i'll had to tune a bit the model, as it has been canibalized to build the entry model. S.
  22. I like them too. Original lego parts? Edit: to replace the 8t. If you have them, the old 12 t half gear from the 90' could work...
  23. Thanks! The video shows that the max angle of rotation is not -90degree +90degree. So does the rotary catch engage correctly the driving ring?
  24. Looks good! This iteration takes it to the next level. I also love the golden and black combo. At this time I must say I do not know for the tire choice anymore. Both looks great. The lowered fuel tank looks ok now. Could you post detail view of the stepper mechanism? I am really interested in how you build it. Promised...I won't copy ? S.
  25. I just install it. Works pretty well. It will replace my excell file instantly. Thanks for your time invested in this cool app. S .
