mmm, purdy I'd like to see more pix of your minty fresh sets.

I love it! What a cool idea! How did you get the space emblem on his chest?
-
The beach house set is handy, as you also get instructions for the cafe and an apartment building. Expect to see all three. :-)

What were your favorite Lego: Space - The Comic stories of 2008?
KDog replied to KDog's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
"Shootin' the Solar Breeze" I was bummed that it wasn't clear to everyone that Schwartz was barfing, so much that I had to have him explicitly reference it in a later comic. "Last Knight" I don't think I made this story amusing enough and Valkyrie might have come across as too bitchy. But it was important to show the conflict between Blacktron I and II. "Prototypical" My plans for Star Justice my be complicated by the upcoming Space Police III. I know I'll want to use Space Police III, but I'm not sure how to use it. The aliens its seems to have won't fit into the current storyline, where Earth doesn't know of any other aliens besides the Martian races. And I haven't used Space Police I & II anywhere near enough. So, maybe I'll have to do stand-alone future story with SP3. Indiana Schwartz: It's weird to me to think as Highander as being cliche, since my friends and I were big-time into it during high school in the 1990s when it was very much a cult hit. But "There can be only one" has seeped into the public consciousness of late. I likely will do other stories related to current events. "House Call" lightly touched on the U.S. presidential race and the whole premise was very "A Christmas Carol," even if I uploaded it about a month before Christmas. I hope some of you appreciated my fawning over Indy and Harrison Ford, lol. Blank Attack: No, I still do not own the Mega-Core Magnetizer. I really want to, as it's the closest thing M:Tron has to a base. But I imagine I could use my cousin's again in the meantime if I need it. The dragons speaking like Shakespeare characters was, I believe, my cousin's idea and a great one. I'm always afraid to mention Xenu again lest I incur the wrath of Scientologists. Coldwell is basically what a Satan-worshipper is to a Christian. He's not a bad guy, just... odd. Last Face You See: I think that freaked out a lot of people. It had the opposite effect on me. For about a year or two before I created that story, I had been dealing with near-constant feelings of despair. Death ans loss were always on my mind, ever since I neared 30. As silly as it sounds, creating those two comics was a major catharsis and I've felt a lot better ever since. While I still deal with a lot of those dark thoughts, they're not nearly as overpowering as they were before. Revenge is a Dish Best Served with Champagne: Oh my goodness. Despite initial thoughts that this might not be a fitting punishment I was so proved wrong. The ending was the icing on the cake though, with him liking it. you really need to follow up on that poor brainwashing of Shwartz This is one of my favorite storylines; I felt it worked really well in that it was funny and reached the level of odd absurdity for which I strive. I should do a story called "How Schwartz Got His Rock Back." Anyway, I'm glad these comics have been son enojyable for you. Thank you for all your comments and dedication! Thank you. I worked hard on putting together rock star minifigs that looked acceptable. I could have done better with Springsteen, I think. But not sure how. -

Catching up! Batbrick, I'm impressed by you undertaking the now huge task of reading every comic in a sitting. I'm susrpised at how many I'm done. Imagine if it was daily. (Well, it's not hard to imagine; just look at the Advent calendar.) DACTA is very useful for tieing everything together. That's how I plan to continue to use them, although I do have a story in mind that will feature them and their headquarters, now that Iron Moose gave me a good trade and I have the hard-to-find DACTA set. The news van shown in the Advent Calendar storyline is from that set. If you liked Meteor Madness and Schwartz and Valkyrie, you'll probably like the Metetor Madness II storyline that began this week. :) Like in "Old Friends," I want to continue showing the core group of friends that are tied into almost every storyline - Schwartz, Galanos, Weiss, Amarillo and Red. If you haven't noticed, they represent all the colors the Classic Space astronaut was available in. The one exception is Galanos, who was a typical blue astronaut but upgraded to the blue Futuron uniform. However, his brother has taken on the old blue suit. I'm sorry I kept you waiting for so long for Schwartz and Valkyrie's date! If it's any consolation, Meteor Madness II is the story of their second date. I didn't wait as long this time. Schwartz and Valkyrie are a little bit hard to write together because I don't want her to become too "soft." I think you'll soon see how I avoid that. A lot of the storylines, like the 918, are taking their time to build, just because I have so much going on at once. My goal is to show how everything is tied together and planned out. I do actually have a plan, believe it or not. I know how this "season" of stories ends. There's actually a point where most of the stories will conclude, and then I'll move on to a new set of stories. There actually is one storyline you've seen hints of already and probably don't even know it's a storyline; it will become one of the major plots in the second season of the comic. My goal is that when you look back a year from now, you'll see all these hints that have been there all along. -
I'm not sure if you're saying my drawing skills are hilariously bad, lol. I guess I was going more for cute with this strip; people who have cats might relate. And thanks, DJ Force. I have trouble with regular color pencils, too. That's why I use watercolor pencils on bristol board, sans the water. The color blends better and allows for better shading.

I think it's time for the next epic storyline, don't you? METEOR MADNESS II (Part 1): http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=503908

I would love to see people's MOCs of what they think Space Police III will look like, and then see who came the closest. If I could offer a decent prize, I'd consider making it a contest. The only problem is that pix of the real thing could surface any day.

Can someone summarize what he said about LEGO Universe and how many Castle Advent calendars sold?

When it comes down to it, I'd really like to see the return of the Classic Space astronauts. And Futuron were a great redesign of them. So, I hope LEGO at some point returns to a similar design and features space explorers, not just astronuats contained to Mars or law enforcement.

No, I did squat during my break. But I'm back in the groove of photographing already and hope to be working a bit in advance.

Oh yeah, they'll be in it. :)
-
They don't work for the Space Agency. They're just Schwartz's neighbors.

I'm back from my vacation and so is the comic! Happy New Year, everyone! I'm going to post a few one-shots before we get into the next big storyline. Here's the first. Hemming the Trousers: http://drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/index.php?p=501529
