  1. I'm excited by this, of course. The idea of a Space Police/Patrol force chasing down different bad guys in different settings reminds me of Agents in a good way. These sets could be Space with more personality. Can't wait. And I must know who this mysterious Squidman is. I'm picturing a minifig with an octopus on its head, lol.
  2. She's always at the root of trouble.
  3. House Call (Part 4) is up! http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=484974
  4. Thanks, Nick! Thanks for commenting and I'm always happy to hear someone rediscovered Classic Space through the comic. People might start to hate me for making Space sets and minifigs a little more scarce on Bricklink, though. ;-)
  5. I'm thrilled to be wrong is that's the case.
  6. I'm doubting this rumor, as we've seen pix of many of the 2009 Lego sets and Space Police are nowhere to be found. Granted, neither is Mars Mission. Maybe Power Drillers took their spot. :-/ WOW! That's an awesome idea. I love that cyber-pirate figure!

  9. One of the reasons I chose a lesser-known version of the cameo character was so the last panel would be a bit of a surprise.

  11. Revenge is a Dish Best Served with Champagne (Part 2) is up. Oh, the horror! This should have been the Halloween story! http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=481586
  12. 6373 has always been a favorite of mine. Someone gave me this set second-hand when I was a kid and it was always fun to play with, even though I think some pieces were missing. Those early Town sets somehow combined a perfect simplicity with a fun complexity. In this case, the shop is a simple but visually appealing design, yet there's a lot to do - a showroom, an office, lots of motorcycles and helmets. You really had all you need to "play shop." I've been desiring this set again for a long time. I just recently secured a $25 coupon for eBay through my credit card, as well a $7 shipping coupon. I found a seller who had this set, complete, for $50 BIN. I made the leap and ended up only paying $26 outside of the coupons. Can't wait to build it again! I think I'm even going to use this set in my comic as a hang-out for Schwartz. He needs somewhere to get his rocktcycle repaired! I, too, am disappointed that Lego has lost its focus on actually releasing TOWN sets. I guess Police and Fire sets sell because of the inherent adventure, but some new houses and business buildings are sorely in order. I know that there are both in the Creator line, but they're not as themed as real Town sets would be, and not all are minifig scale. Lego needs to rectify this; it's a shame that you have to track down 25-year old sets to get certain kinds of buildings. I DO like the Town Square set that came out recently, especially its Back to the Future resemblance, but haven't sprung for it yet. I may never. :-( P.S. I'm hoping it's okay to revive old threads about certain sets, rather than create new ones.
  13. My original intent was to wait, and I probably should have since it would have been a surprise. Doing this story now was a combination of a desire to tell it and my need for a short story to take up most of this week since Lego has been really slow in shipping me the parts I need for the next storylne. I also had this feeling like the friendship between Schwartz and Galanos just wouldn't be the same until I dealt with this. Schwartz was pretty cruel to him. And while some might not get the revenge, I imagine they've never sat through the Lawrence Welk show (or they like torture, lol).
  14. A new comic just went up! Revenge is a Dish Best Served with Champagne (Part 1): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=480793
  15. My orginal plan was to do this whole story over the course of several months. But I didn't want to get away from the other characters for too long, so I broke it up into parts. It'll also allow me to use the Gemini twins in another way I have planned.
  16. Happy Halloween, ladies! :-P In Search of... the 918 (Part 9): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=479654
  17. That's awesome. Is that Downshift from the Omnibots? Or perhaps the Throttlebot Searchlight? http://www.tfu.info/1985/Autobot/Downshift/downshift.htm http://www.tfu.info/1987/Autobot/Searchlight/searchlight.htm
  18. Yeah, that's my little joke about the loud hailer. It could be a gun, a megaphone, who knows? Thanks, ImperialScouts!
  19. Sure, Guss! I'm gonna have to print up some membership cards. ;-)
  20. "In Search of... the 918 (Part 8)" is up! http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=478229
  21. Dash's motivations will become a little more clear in the next couple of comics, at least as to him being good or evil (although I'm more of a shades of gray type guy). I, of course, know what his complete story is, but I just can't tell you yet.

  24. It's still three comics a week; updates have just been bunched together because I often have less time mid-week to work on them due to my new job.
