  1. Date Night (Part 2): http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=591636 Batbrick, is it Space Police I or II?
  2. Schwartz will talk a little more about his youth throughout this storyline. You're thinking about buying the camper? I'd go for it. It's not too expensive, for one thing. It reminds me a little of the camper set I used to have as a kid and wish I still did (6590). The new one has a lot cool features. There's the surfboard and bike on the roof. The inside swings open and you have a sitting area with cups, a sleeping space, a TV and a frying pan on the wall. There's also a little hot plate that the minifigs can cook the included fish on. The female minifig is cute, and she has a new hairpiece that I think is thus far unique to this set, especially in reddish brown. All in all, I love Winnebagos and campers (partly due to camping trips I used to go on in one when I was a kid. I love their compact yet useful nature; a little home on wheels), and this set captures what I love about them. Love the lime green pieces and the palm trees sticker. It's funny; I always have little to say about how useful pieces are, because I usually like to keep sets together and don't build a whole lot of MOCs. The Bike Shop has always been one of my favorites. I had it (or most of it) when I was a kid and a neighbor gave me his Legos, which I guess he had outgrown. It's one of the most revered town sets, and for a good reason. The show window with all the helmets on display and the three motorycles for sale (one with a sidecar) succeed in making this building feel like a real shop. The window stickers are awesome, too (yeah, this set was ahead of it's time with having a lot of stickers). Inside, there's a repair area and an office. This is one of those classic Lego Town sets that wasn't huge, but managed to cram in a lot of details and play value. A classic.
  3. You know me well. ;-)

  5. A lot of things about Ronald remind me uncomfortably of myself, but he's worse. So I'm glad if he's not hated, because ultimately there's things about him I think many of us can identify with on some level. I'd say Ronald is in his low 20's.
  6. It was in the possible future visited by Ronald in the "House Call" storyline. How exactly Mikey became a cat was never shown, although it had something to do with experiments at the Polaris-I Space Lab.
  7. The Sultan of Sloth: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=587550 ------ New comic is up! The rock monster will likely show up for another visit, although I don't plan to make him a regular.

  9. I don't use the Twins as much as Schwartz, Valkyrie and Galanos, but they're among my favorite characters, which may explain why they featured in both the 50th and 200th comic specials. I really like writing Ronald, too, who I've got to bring back sometime soon. At least he had his own epic story not that long ago.
  10. Thanks, Fenris. I'll have to look into what's going on with the letters. They look fine on my computer, but maybe not universally. It's probably a side effect of my cheap paint program, too.
  11. 200: http://www.drunkduck.com/Lego_Space/?p=583579 Finally...
  12. Well, not quite yet, but soon. :-)
  13. Thanks for letting me know you miss it, guys! :-) The power cord I ordered a few weeks ago never arrived. :-/ Turns out, I was never even charged for it, so I don't know what happened there. So, I ordered one from a different place last week, and received a tracking number, so that should be here this week. Although I still have to shoot more photos (which I need my laptop for, also), I do have pix so I can at least post one new comic as soon as things are back up and running.
  14. I wonder why Max Security Transport isn't available on S@H???
  15. FYI: My laptop is down at the moment while I await a new power cord, which I hope will arrive this week. Until then, comics are on hold. :-/
  16. I wish Lego would stop hesitating and get this into U.S. stores! Mr. Madalorian, what is the thing in your sig about Mythbusters?

    LEGO Sci-Fi

The name change makes perfect sense, and sounds more inclusive. I'm glad you didn't opt for the totally ridiculous "SyFy" like the Sci-Fi Channel did. ;-)
  18. I did a double-take when I saw your Captain Jack. It looks just like him!
  19. Well, at least they both kinda got screwed over in this story. ;-)

  21. Oops! Thanks, RangerBob! Anyway, I just saw that the cheapest you can find this set on Bricklink is for $130! I bought it on Bricklink for I think $50 or $60 maybe a year and a half ago. What the heck happened??? Has there been a run on Classic Space stuff since SP3 came out? Some sets seem to be dwindling in availability and growng greatly in price.
  22. I just noticed - in that one picture in the middle of the alternate modes - are the astronauts feeding the Space Chicken or looking precariously into its mouth? LOL I love the sense of humor the Lego designers have! All I know is, I have to figure out how to build that chicken so it can appear in my comic. Thanks again for the pix, Mariko!
  23. Thank you so much for this awesome review! Here's the really odd thing - I just woke up from a dream in which I told myself I had to buy the box for this set because I wanted to see the Space Chicken (or Dragon) that was depicted as an alternate mode. And then I woke up, logged online, and here was your review with pix of it! Spooky! Yeah, the alternate designs are almost all excellent, very original and ahead of their time. Whoever designed them was thinking outside the box of what Lego was doing at the time. And the actual ship itself it great - I actually have it, but picked it up loose and have long desired to see the box. I like how the buggy looks way too simple, but then you can attach the toolboxes and it makes sense and looks cooler. Anyway, hope you get SP3 soon!
  24. This sounds great! I hope LEGO goes even further with it and integrates undersea ruins and maybe an Atlantis-like, underwater civilization that could function as the friends/enemies of the divers.
