I actually like the flamethrower and the claws. The flamethrower is a piece of art alone and those claws really bring a sense of "Vulture" to it. Ditto with the very skimpy armour. Unlike the Stealth Hunter, which was meant to look like a dragon, this needs a slimmer look, like that of a vulture. Fat body, slim limbs. Flying thing doesn't bother me in the slightest. I've seen them alot in Gundam Seed, mainly on Providence Gundam and Legend Gundam, though I don't have the slightest clue what's it used for. Except the fact that it's like a dock for the spike things that fire out and unload some heavy laserage upon some poor robot. Couldn't find a GOOD picture of the Providence, but here's one of Legend. :D

NEW RCX BRICK
KMOI replied to languages's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ok, since I didn't own a MindStorms set (Except for the discovery one), I'm not one to comment on programming. That said... HOLY TARTAR SAUCE! That Alpharex robot looks sweet! I know I would have certainly liked this back when I had time to build Lego! Also, the white and orange colour scheme looks rocking! Keep it up Lego! You're doing a fantasmic job! -
I'm pretty sure the Stealth Hunter can fly. After all, the box art show it soaring through the air and the comic included has it knocking the fire vulture out of the sky VIA air-to-air combat, so I'm pretty sure the dude can fly. ;)

YES. Narnia soundtrack rules! It's only second to Pirates of the Carribean, my favorite soundtrack. :-D I picked up this and the Polar Express soundtrack on boxing day! Woojabba! Oh dear. keetongu got megabloks? Quickly! I'll get his feet, you go for his arms! We'll get him, you here? GET HIM! ;) Nah, just kidding. I must admit the dragons are pretty sweet action figures, just not construction toys. |-/

Giggity giggity giggity!!! (Family Guy reference, don't ask) Anyhoo, I didn't get much Lego at all. Infact, no lego at all. However, I'm super happy! Well, without further adieu, my list!! From Santa, Sorcerer Mickey Hallmark ordament (Music and action) -So cool!It has Mickey waving his hands at the brooms while the brooms dance up a stairwell made of water. Also has music too! :oD All other presents, Giro Ski Helmet -Just what I wanted! It's a pretty sweet helmet! And just the right size too! X-large baby! iPod Nano with Dock and Power adapter -Really didn't see this coming. I don't even listen to music that much anyways! Well, it makes an awesome device for my room! Strike Freedom Gundam 1/144 HG scale -Fun fun fun in the sun! Or snow for that matter. We got a brutal storm heading towards us right now. Something about our great lakes wanting revenge for something. Anyhoo, pretty sweet stuff! I've always wanted this model and it really rocks. My grandparents from Hong Kong even gave me the paint I need! Yippee!!! Well, that's it! But in terms of Lego, I got a Stealth Hunter for my birthday on Dec. 14... Does that count? :-D

By the way, if any of you are wondering if you could see more of this person's art, it's by Hoon from here: http://hoon.deviantart.com/ From your friendly neighbourhood link finder, Spider-man Man, I've always wanted to say that :oD

If you're talking about the minifig version, I vote for the Guardian. I mean who doesn't like a minifig of Santa from Narnia? ;) Pic from Bricklink, by the way.

Like people who spoil what's inside the wrapping just before you open it. Yeah, I don't like to be spoiled. It's not very fun, considering it's all part of the unwrapping part to be completely blown away when you open the present.
-
RoboForce. The parts were awesome adn the designs were very unique. Sure, not everyone liked them, but I sure did!
-
Well, you kinda spelled Assault wrong, but still. There's no need to nail someone just because of their posting style and not even remotely contribute more content to the topic. It's like a hollow post. All bark, no bite. I mean sure, I'm not the biggest fan of chrispen's style, but you don't see me going after him. ;) Anyhoo, yeah, this has happened to me so many times it's ridiculous. One time, I missed out on getting a second Kohrak-Kal because I wanted more of the head shields. Another time, I missed out on the Yeti Hideout set and I'm reeling from the effects of it right now. It hurts! Hurts so bad! :(

Or if you like to keep things under wraps and not let anyone but your desired audience see it, use imageshack. I always use it to post things nowadays. ;)

So they've been gone for a while now? Pity, the last large set I bought was the snowboarder one way back and it had the booklet. A sad day indeed. Anyhoo, just another note. I just realized how cool it would be if you combined two Stealth Hunters together. It would look purely awesome! :oD
-
No kidding Sam! These are incredible! That gate is by far the largest thing I have EVER seen made by Lego to this point! It's like they went back and made the Gate Assault ten times better! Well, guess we know that the poor Gate assault will be left all alone now. :( Anyways, do you see how many mechs it comes with! If you buy that set, you get one of everything! Fantabulous job Lego!

Mwehehe, action pics? Or another angle? I can do this all day! (Even though I really, really shouldn't be) Anyhoo, thanks for the comments everyone! I tried to make this review the most complete it can be. One letdown was the fact that they didn't have those cross-sell pamphlets in the box anymore. You know, the one that advertises other products for the year? Yeah, they don't have those anymore. *wacko*

Heh, the underlined things are actually links to even MORE pictures. Hey, what can I say? I tend to go a little crazy when taking photos. ;) And as requested:

Well, ok, SOME things miss the review. My birthday was on Dec the 14th, and my nanny gave me this for my big day! Anyhow, before I begin, I want to tell you that this isn't just the review, but also a guide on how I built it, which would help, especially with the stickering process. Also, before we begin, it's kinda funny. This is supposed to be anime-inspired, yet all the symbols are actually from chinese caligraphy. More on that later THE BOX (Instructions, box and previews) Opening flap for box Parts guide in instructions The combiner Very, very impressive. They're finally using the openning flaps of yester-decade and they've done a fine job. The box itself is impressive, showing the Stealth Hunter soaring through the air. Very nice. Also, that stealth wasp thing rules! The instructions themselves even have a PARTS guide. A parts guide! This is truly the first time I've seen one for a non-assesory kit, and it helps so much! Bravo! At the back of the instructions, there's a preview of what happens when you merge the Grand Titan and the Stealth Hunter. It really reminds me of the "Neocross" model from the Amdriver toys series. For those who wonder how to build this beast, it's going to be on the Lego site sometime later keep alert! The figure Apparently, his name is "Hikkaru" (God, who came up with these...). He's got the dreaded super spike hair, but I got it pretty lucky! There's a little rubber bit that hangs which *just* covers his angry face. To be very honest, I like his "angst" (normal) face better. The other just looks like he's either constipated or about to blow a series of blood vessels. The torso is the best I've seen in a long time, being a mini version of his mech pasted right on his shirt! Money! And for comparison, with Clock Jayko and Barc Fusion (My own character). Honorable mentions Lightbox Come on, who doesn't like the light box? It's small and very fun to play with. You can't replace the battery, so I guess it's the light-up minifig thing all over again. Bummer, but still, pretty cool. TEH STICKIEEESSS!!!!111 Yep, they're back with all their evil glory! Well, not much to say, other than the fact that there are alot of them. It's a real bummer too, considering that these stickers stick to *anything* close to them. Here's a tip from the resident mech fan. When doing these stickers, DO THEM FIRST! Don't listen to those evil instructions! Considering that these are all sloped pieces, do them FIRST. Period. Stealth Hunter NOTE: Sorry about the pics. It started to snow outside, and it's not stopping, so I took the pics anyways. Sorry about the blue tint folks. Well, it's pretty sweet! It's got pretty think legs and a very nice cockpit construction, so I'm cool with it. Something lack reasoning though, as I will tell you about it. The cockpit Inside the cockpit A+!! It rules! Never seen such a good construction by lego before since the days of RoboForce and UFOs. It really locks the fig in. A little thing I did with the cockpit is that it's supposed to only have one joystick. The set came with two, so I added another, one for each hand. I call this, the KMOI-Mod. ;) The Legs Well, here they are! They're much thicker due to the wings. It's a very nice look. However, the crew at lego tells you to stick the decal in the given pic, but it's got it upside down. It's supposed to read "Dragon Wings", but since it's upside down, it means nothing at all. The blaster Not a very large gun, but nice nontheless. The fiber optics add a touch of pazzazz right there. The sword/spear thingy Two KK Megafig swords strapped together. Nothing really special here. Funny how it said "sharp edges" though. It had be going for a bit. |-D The back The lever Not going to rate this at all. These mechs were made to look good from the front, not the back. The red lever activated the fiber optic when you push it down. Pretty cool! Wings Pretty flimsy looking design. Anyways, one real gripe with this. For some reason, my set was missing one of the pieces you stick the sloped plate on. I mean I would be ok with it if this was the first time, but this is the 4th consequtive time a set of mine was lacking pieces! Arg! And for all those who want to know, the wings say "flying squadron", not what the translation the sticker sheet gives. Left arm Right arm Guess George Lucas doesn't have influence on just the Star Wars license alone! It would appear that his amputation fetish has claimed this mech's right arm! Oh noes! Articulation Well, they used the megafig joints. That means very, very posable. The arms are kinda dinky, but it's pretty cool. Here's just a bunch of pics for you to enjoy. Death from below! GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! dUDE!! Check out my sword shticker!!!111 Ten bucks says I can knock that Megabloks blimp out of the air. FINAL SCORE: 8.5/10 Figure: 8/10 Asthetics (on box): 9/10 Set: 7/10 Playability: 9/10 Pretty fun set! A definate must buy for Christmas!

Brickshelf find: The first ever Maersk Ship...
KMOI replied to Hobbes's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hope so, because it would be a waste of money if you didn't! Anyhow, talk about superior delivery. With the amount of weaponry on that boat, I'm sure your cargo will be just fine. Amazing. Just amazing. -
Thanks for the pic! Isn't it great what you can find on Ebay? ;) Anyhow, it looks pretty cool! Can't wait to see the ExoForce sets though. Funny how I'm so enthusiastic about a line which I originally thought I would hate. |-D
-
Thanks Apo! Well, ExoForce seems to be really quite a doozy! Not really so sure about the Sentai headquarters though, considering we've already gotten the gate. But for some reason, I believe that it's some sort of dock. Looks like Lego is going the whole distance for this line! Bravo!
-
Heck no. HECK NO! God, I really hate these people now. Wouldn't mind sending them a few Spam mails right about now! (Here's looking at ya, Imperial) Anyhoo, anyone else notice the heinous construction of these? They're made of friggin' magnets! ARRRG!
-
@Kotua I think the purpose for the weaponry on these two is because they're supposed to be the heavy-weights of the team, while the other two are faster and more manuverable, allowing a balence of closerange and long range assaults. Anyways, thanks for the reviews! Too bad about the stickers though. I really wished they were printed on the bricks. But considering I build Gundams, the stickering should be too bad...
-
Pretty awesome! I really like the part with the girl singing the "Pirate's life for me" song. Homage to the first film, and it fits remarkably well. Also, I can't wait to see the crew of the Flying Dutchman! On another note, lord forbig I ever see the Megabloks sets for this. I'm never going to be ready for a midget Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp and most certainly NOT Kiera Knightly. 8-|

My vote is for Blue. Quite frankly, he's awesome. Sure, his legs look wierd, but he's got the whole "I'm going to bite your head off, and them some!" motif going. Green is nice, but he kinda "cute". Besides, he looks far more harmless than the other two. Dino Attack!'s t-rex is kinda iffy for me. I guess I'm just biased by how all the dinos look pretty bad, especially the raptors. Also, nolstalgia will never really affect me. I'm always for what's good in my opinion, and blue is looking good.

Though I'm not him, I can guess trying to make a cloak that fits the normal arms must be a total pain. Anyhoo, nice job with the Emperor there! Also, I love the colourizations! They rule!
