That would be me. You see, I loved the sets they had for Episode I. You had the Sith Infiltrator, complete with Maul and double sides Lightsaber, his little skiff and it looked fantastic. Also, Episode I had the best set for massive amounts of droids and finally gave us a standard face (Qui-gon). Also, the other figures were also amazing. Obi-Wan kenobi with the hood was fantastic. The Gungan sub was rich with possibilities. It was also one of the lines that actually managed to cover almost all of the vehicles seen. I was impressed with this from the first time I saw it and still am today. :)

For me, Bionicle began to tank when they introduced the seventh toa. Yeah, the six original toa had a walking flashlight to lead them. Then it really tanked when they introduced all those new Toa and a city environment. Personally, I loved Bionicle because it was on an island. Now? Well, I've lost most of my interest in it, but I still pay attention to the series. Personally, I think these sets are aweful. Just because it doesn't match with the rest of the sets. Bionicle was made with technic. That's they way it was and I'm sticking to it. On a lighter note, I think they don't look horrible, just not what I expect. :-D

Ah, yes. I just found the reference. It's Mutley777's moc as shown here.

Anyways, I attempted to make my first Lego "skirt" today for my incoming Clone Walker that's due to be recieved VERY soon. Anyhoo, after spending a whole 15 mins, I finally managed to cut the hole out so that the minifig can wear it. The holes fit fine, but I think I need a bit of help. the skirt is raised at the end when I try to place the side parts close to the minifig. I'm just curious as to where or how large an indent should I make for the skirt to stay in normal position, like the Snow Trooper skirt I saw a bit back. Here's the progress for the "skirt".

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY! Those are awesome! Heh, now that you said that you got the parts from Bricklink, did you have the designs laid out in your head before, or did you make them up as you went along? Because I tell ya, no matter what way you took to build them, it takes a real master to see those combinations! Nice!

So is that how everyone makes their decals so well? You see, I've never even heard of this before. :-D

Right after I've finished tweaking the scale of the face. You see, I traced the original face my hand on tracing paper, then scanned it in. I then took a picture of the anakin face and used it as a reference to what the final product should look like. It would have been perfect, had my scanner not blown the size of the face up. Now I have to resize it as best as I can, which could be a royal pain. :(

Heh, I kinda like to say my age mostly because last time I got on an AFOL forum, I got beaten up because I liked Bionicle. :-D Another reason is because it kinda shows you something about the "demographics" of the place. Ok, enough of that, here's a sneak peak of what is coming up! As you can see, I'm pretty close to done, but I'm still reconsidering about the chin line. It seems off and I'm really not sure of where it should be. The first two ar the drafted products and the third one is without the chin-line, just incase you need to see how it looks without it. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone! I just want to announce that I'm inches away from finishing my normal Anakin face decal! This is going to be my very first decal EVER, but it's turning out great so far! After all, doesn't everyone want a normal Anakin face that they can use for customization? And with the movie coming out real soon, there's no better time! So get ready for it! But there's a catch. >-| You see, though I am not-so-bad in making Minifig customizations, this is my first time EVER making a face decal. Hence, it may look rough, though it's not like it's hand-drawn. Also, I'm far from being an AFOL. I'm a kid whom has infiltrated this highly intelligent and entertaining board! Anyhoo, that being said, I'm not a big fan of no-emotion-Anakin. Sure, the face works well young Obi-Wan, but not quite with Anakin. You see, Anakin becomes steaming hot glass of un-bridled emotions. Hence, I'm making two versions. The first will be a "cocky" or real happy Anakin. (He has a grin) The other one will be gritting teeth and REALLY angry. Once I saw that screenshot of the angry Lego Anakin, I just HAD to make a decal just for the angry-I'm-going-to-destroy-the-universe-to-save-my-lovely-wife Anakin. Anyhoo, that's what's coming up so stay tuned! ;)

Well, you can watch it at the official Lego Star Wars website, it's actually really funny. As for plotline... Well... Ok, there's no plot, even though they claim that there is. It's like a spoof of Episode III. Grievous is used as a TV Attenna, then shows up as a bartender, Greebo shows up for a bit, Vader conducts, all and all, it's a truly hilarious ride. :-D

What's inside the SandCrawler? I think i'd be kinda neat to have things inside it, like the Millenuim Falcon.
-
I second that, BloodyJay. I'd really love to have more sets like Jedi-Defence, except with other figures. Also, doesn't anyone else want an Episode 3 Palpatine? I'm really digging the red robes. But if we can't get that, I really like your suggestion, browniedjhs. They should really go for that!
-
I have no clue as to that one. It's really odd, once the Empire takes over, it's almost like all of the ARCs, Commandos and ranks all somehow just die off. It's almost like the purging the entire army of brains!
-
Thanks for the tip! And congrats on the Clone Walkers! A pity of how I don't live close to a Lego Store. Curses! (Curses at how I live in Canada and always get shafted on Lego Exclusives)
-
But it's not out yet... 8-| Isn't it supposed to hit American Toys R Us Stores May 15-21 with a purchase of 14.99 worth of Star Wars Legos?

Well, the change in helmets was due to the improvement of the gear the Clones wore in the Clone Wars. You see, after realizing that building helmets without really good respirators really sucked when they were fighting chemical weapons. The weapons were introduced in the early days of the war on Naboo, when the Separtists unleashed massive amounts of chemicals on the Gungans, killing many. Anyhoo, the ARC question is indeed a sticky wicket. ARCs do still exist, but I'm not entirely sure where or what they are now. You see, they COULD be commanders now, seeing how Odd Ball (Yes, that was his name), was the commander of a Blue Squadron during the siege on a Separtist fortress. He was one of the ARCs that was involved with the daring rescue mission of Ki-Ai and the rest of the Jedi whom were besieged by Grievous. Alpha also became a commander of another Blue Squadron on the same mission, seen with the new helmet. However, what's wierd is that Commander Bly was not an ARC, yet he is a commander. Thus, I believe that ARCs are now Commanders alongside with other Commanders. Though most of me wants the ARCs to be an elite strike force that DOESN'T go evil. >-|
-
Nope. They aren't ARCs. As I said before, there are only a certain number of ARCs because they are Clones whom were specifically trained by Jango Fett himself, when he was alive, thus explaining what he was doing on Kamino. And because I just *know* someone will call me wrong and call himself right all the time, here's proof. Proof. Anyhoo, Lego2000, I think you are taking that a bit too literally there. Just because BARC has ARC in it doesn't mean it is an ARC. But believe in what you want to, I don't give a hoot.
-
Aloha everyone! I really am sorry if this is indeed in the wrong forum, it just seemed like the right place. Anyhoo, I'm making custom pauldrons from fabric that is almost identical to the ones used in the Lego sets, but I only have one question. What pant should I use to paint the fabric so it doesn't just harden? Should I use testors, or Tamiya?
-
Are you sure of this, Jay? When I looked at the Official Star Wars illutrated guide made by Oxford, there are only Green BARCs. The white ones were the Swoop-troopers, as seen later on. *wacko*
-
Well, it is made to be a magnet, and Lego specifically stated that they wouldn't want to do normal figures by themselves as that is sold off to Kubricks. Besides, this isn't so bad. At least everything else other than the body is removable! (Head, weapon, hair, cape) I'm pretty satisfied by this magnet business!
-
But they have magnets in the torso and the legs. Umm... Perhaps a force explosion move? :-D Anyhoo, I'm sure they won't be that strong, afterall, you don't want them to be permanently stuck to the fridge. :oD
-
I guess you could use the magnets as a kind of "Force-kick" action. Hard to believe it, but they actually have a force-kick move in the movie! Anyhoo, didn't Orlego the mighty just confirm on the page before that the figures were indeed able to be dismantled?
-
Yeah, I've been trying to look for one of those pieces for 5 days now, :P. Anyhoo, in order for Grievous to sit in the Wheelbike, you have to make a modification. I'm just trying to figure out which way is the best, so expect more pics soon!
-
I do. Infact, I think they should have more of every clone. The BARCs especially, because I missed out on the biker scouts. >-|
-
Well, here are the pics! They look great on him, though they make him look like Clone Wars Grievous.
