Thank goodness they included it! Those prototype pics really gave me a shock when the sphere ended up empty. Good to see the little dude's in there! Even though the Iron Condor is pretty awesome, I'll perhaps buy it some other time. They both look pretty good! Kinda wished the Shadow Crawler has a forth leg though. :'-(

At long last, you've seen the light, Grevious. Welcome to Eurobricks, land of the free. :-D Wow. There are no words to describe this. That's just AMAZING. Soon enough, we'll have Halo references left right and center. Oh, wait. We already have the Elit... I mean Barraki. At this point, I'm not really worried about the existance of Kanohi any more. I'm more afraid of Master Chief popping up as the seventh Toa and blowing up the Barraki with an assault rifle now...

I got it too. I can't remember the exact details, but I picked it up on sale at Toys R Us way back when Space Port was in the middle of its run. Really fun "set"!

Actually, I quite enjoy the use of Viking horns in Bionicle. Also, if you compare the colours to "Cool Creations", then wouldn't everything in the Bionicle universe fit under that? I mean heck, colour is good. Last thing I want is for Bionicle to be noir. :-D Anyhow, even though these photos are definately not a great way to judge the sets, considering the angles at which the photos were pretty bad, these guys actually seem alot less well thought out. I actually prefered when they were blurry and open to interpetation. The Carapar actually looks fairly decent. Yes, it's got new rubbery-organ pieces, but it actually looks complete. The Taradox is more skinny looking, but it works. After all, that thing is supposed to look like a praying mantis, and the execution of this it pretty solid all around. All and all, not too shabby in terms of what they try to accomplish. And the Pridak. Oh how far the mighty have fallen. At first, this one looked like the most promising one of them all, as the blur made it look like it was going to be a serpentine-like body structure with long, single clawed daggers for hands. Guess I was wrong! Okay, I'm fine being wrong, but the way it's made now is horrid. I don't care if LEGO or Greg tries to bribe me into liking it, because that thing is repulsive. I don't mean the asthetics either. I mean in construction. Just take a look at the legs, for example. Those aren't legs. Those are STILTS. For an upper body like that, I would expect slightly more in terms of legs. I was thinking along the lines of the legs of a centaur. Still skinny, but at least some variation. Instead, he's given standard Rahkshi legs and Metru-connectors with no motif going on whatsoever. Hmm, well, this IS LEGO, after all, so customization shouldn't be a problem! However, I'll think twice before buying the Pridak. As for the rest, I'd suggest you all just sit back and wait for better photos. Even though I don't own the sets, I still think it's far too early to judge. The pictures simply don't do the sets justice. I mean, I know articulation is good, and all, but what kind of person or animal would fight like this?
-
I too voted for the Ferrari finish line. All of these sets are great, but I ultimately voted for that one. I'm really impressed with the System Ferrari sets, so this one steals my heart and gets the vote! My second option would have been the Armoured dragon though. :-)

I bet they'll fix that at some point. :-P And yeah! This seems like the the battle to end all battles! The art is also stunning this time around, especially with this shot of the Supernova/Thunder Fury fight. May be slightly stereotypical, but man oh man! I've been waiting for a shot like that for sooooo long! Also, we finally get to see the Sentries actually put up a massive fight! Their color is a tad off (Comic painted them orange, not tan), but there's no harm done there! All in all, one amazing fight! I was really glad they produced more than one BridgeWalker. At long last, we have a robot mech that has equal firepower to those of the human ones! I really hope the finale will be just as impressive!
-
After all that painful waiting, "Eyes of the enemy" is finally up! Interesting to see that the Stealth Hunters is mass produced now. Nice touch, I must say! Also nice to see how the other defenders do in battle for once. We finally get to see how much more superior the four main characters are! Really love all the attention the robots get in this one too. Kinda reminds me of the Clones from Star Wars: Clone Wars for some reason... But that's a good thing! Man, there's just so many more good things to this comic that I could go on for hours about. Multiple Bridge Walkers, a new pilot for the Supernova and the untamed fury that is the Striking Venom's arsenal. Now all we can pray for now is that they don't botch it up and have Takeshi's plan involve Hikaru and co. to get struck my lightning and turn into Inika, then beat the Striking Venom with the Mask of life and the Shield of Ages. ;-)

Glad to hear you made up your mind, Mister Bond! Glad to hear you picked straight from the heart. Well, might as well reveal my pick. Although I love the crab, I voted for crane. While the Crab is absolutely incredible, that crane is a marvel to behold. To hold it in person would be an even greater pleasure! I'm not much of a fan of either line, but I tell ya, that crane is breathtaking in both size and construction! I only wish I had that kind of cash to spare! :-D

Just watched Casino Royale last night! It was absolutely mindblowing! Awesome acting, great action, incredible soundtrack and all in all an absolutely thrilling ride. Craig did a stunning job as Bond! There were also alot of really good moments, such as that fight in the beginning, those scenes with Bond and Vesper and that Venice fight. Say, did anyone else laugh alot during this movie? I know I did! Bond's lines were incredible in this movie!

I agree with Jinz on the whole hollow leg thing. Heck, even the Toa Nuva's legs in the comic they were introduced weren't as hollow! And even in the latter comics, they kinda filled it in, making it seem like the knight's leg padding. As for the "don't but it if you don't like it" business, that's just a load of phooey. I like the design of the Pridak, but that blood wash seems so utterly unnessesary. And besides, it's what the blood MEANS that's important, not just that part of the set as red on it. My god. He's right. OH NOEZ, PHYSICZ!! *wacko*

I said I WANT them dead. Alright? I said I WANT them dead. For the sole reason because I want Greg to stop messing around with their powers and personalities. I'd go so far as to say that he's taken everything the story team had built up for the Toa and used it as his personal toilet paper. Oh, and don't worry about trying to sell 2007 to me. I'm definately going to pick up some sets! And I second Ikki's ideas. So what if Greg was on the team in the beginning? He sure didn't have the kind of power he has over the storyline back then as he does now. When it comes to Bionicle nowadays, he's the head honcho when it comes to the storyline. As for the possibility of a book with no boundaries, I'd rather have the entire original team (Including C. A. Hapka) do it together. That mystery and intrigue that Vader mentioned was really what dragged me over to Bionicle in the first place. Heck, if the Metru-Nui storyline was what introduced Bionicle to me, I'd NEVER touch Bionicle, except when the sets are good. Because to me, Bionicle became daringly close to another kind of Power Rangers. Y'know, everyone looks the same, but everyone's typecasted into personalities? And endless villians? And massive backstory plot points that actually collide with long standing facts? I'm not saying it's a bad thing to be similar to the Power Rangers, but it sure gives you an idea of who they're aiming for. The "visual" orientated crowd. Speaking of the old comics, I'm sure one of these new, brash fans (Like the Pridak-gore enthusist) would just toss them out, saying: "omgz, kopaka iz tlaking toooo much!!11one WHARE IZ DUH ACTIIONS?!?". ;-) EDIT: I just came back and I just realized I may have made a fatal error. By visual crowd, I mean they hope get fans of video games who don't know what Bionicle is to buy into the whole mythos. I don't mean that EVERYONE who likes Voya Nui or any of the recent lines are younger, video game players.

Don't forget Blocko, who instantly rose to fame with their Bionicle lookalikes/knock-offs. Pretty well much everything they have is a rip off, even the carpenter dude on their front page. That's just the Home Depot guy with his hat logo changed and inverted! Ah, silly, silly blocko... http://www.blocko.com.cn/en/

Thanks for the photos, Dill! You wouldn't believe how long I've been checking up on this topic for photos! :-D Hmm, very interesting indeed. The spinning weapons look really nice, though I do prefer Ryo's mech over the Blade Titan's spinning gear look. The Sky Guardian actually looks better now, so I'm quite relived it turned out the way it did! As for the instruction booklet, wow! The Golden City of the humans against that behemoth of the Robots. Sure resembles this guy's MOC's, oddly enough! While I'm really liking the much larger bridge, it kinda worries me that it's going to be just another battle for the bridge, like in 2006. I sure hope the robots do some blitz missions this year!

Take note, I never said the bad guys shouldn't win. If the Nuva are dead, then it's definately indesputable that the Piraka won. If the Toa Nuva are dead, than it's obvious the Piraka won. I don't know how you read my post, but I clearly state, that battle was mockery of the Toa Nuva. Oh, and I'm sure you know how absolutely inaccurate that statement is about one itty bitty battle. You know that it's because of that battle, the Toa Nuva were effectively shafted for the rest of the year. Killing the Toa Nuva off? Brutal, yes. But I cannot see how this is less "brutal" than having a character, regardless of affiliation (hero or villian), wearing the reminants of his meal as a fashion statement. Note, I hold no grudge against LEGO for the inclusion of fish blood on the Pridak. It actually adds on to an otherwise normal design. Secondly, I'd like to know how before 2004, all the characters were "rehashed", as you put it. Infact, I believe in the exact opposite. Ever read the first comics involving the original 6? The Toa actually didn't act to their stereotypes as posted on the LEGO website. In the Metru saga, I literally could not tell the difference between Nuju, Nokama, Whenua and Onewa. If it wasn't for their colours, I could honestly not tell one apart from the other. Heck, the only thing that separated Vakama from that was the fact that he had visions all the time. If it wasn't for that, I don't think I would tell the difference between any of the Metru Toa, nevermind the 4 I mentioned earlier. And I never ONCE said that the story didn't have depth. I just think it's depth in the wrong direction. Why make a universe full of billions of islands with billions of Toa squads with ungodly amounts of villians? Heck, I don't know how many named villians there are in Bionicle any more. If that's depth to you, then great. But as I said, I like a storyline which focuses on the character's personalities rather than focusing on fleshing out every single gritty little detail of the world they live in. I don't need to know who some random Dark Hunter who's said one line is. I don't need to know an obscure details about how Le-Metruians get around town. And I certainly don't need to know 500 different teams of Toa by name and power. Thirdly, when in the WORLD did I not say I got over it? I got over Bionicle (Nevermind Greg's writing)COMPLETELY. Read the last paragraphs. Read my profile. It's everywhere. Here's just one of the times I state it: This said, I still love Bionicle sets, as their designs and pieces are becoming more and more useful in putting together things that I wanted to build when I first started out liking Bionicle. To be honest, I absolutely love all the sets they've put out (With the exception of the Hordika saga). I just don't follow the storyline that closely any more.

Complex? Suspense? Not-so-much beat 'em up action? Unlike ANY other storyline? *Points at signature and avatar* If you're looking for some REAL mystery, REAL suspense and REAL unique use of powers, then you better turn on your TV, because Avatar is where it's at. I could do a sale pitch right here, right now, but I'm not really feeling in the mood. And because this is a Bionicle thread. :-P Anyways, Grevious, ALOT of people like GregF is doing. As I'm sure you know, the entire BZP idolizes Greg as if he's some revered celetrial figure. Point I'm tyring to say is that here, we can actually express what we really feel. I get it if you like this new tone. I respect that. But you have to respect other's positions, such as my own. No matter how much you try to discredit or slander my position, I will not budge. Call me an old fool, but I can be one if I so wish it. Anyways, as many of you know, I'm STRONGLY against this new direction. Once again, I'll state it in bold, black and white. I am against this new direction. There, I said it. Now, to address some points. Simply one of the team? Yeah, Guess you could say that. But, GregF is the writer (As credited in the comics and books). This means he gets to decide what's done with the storyline. And to be honest, I agree entirely with the Lord Admiral. He's made an insult out of the Toa Nuva. I'd rather have the Toa Nuva dead in some glorious battle that actually would have been worthy of their name. I would rather have Tahu, Kopaka, Gali, Lewa, Pohatu and Onua dead than to be downgraded to a lowly "Toa" status that they are now. Prior to Voya-Nui, they were the Toa Nuva. So powerful to the point they risked leveling the entire island. Remember the Bohrok-Kal saga? Gali Nuva almost sunk Ga-Koro with a mere fraction of her power. They were not just normal Toa. These were the most powerful Toa to exist up until Metru-Nui and that horrid retcon that added hundreds, if not thousands of Toa to the universe. The Piraka were a group of professional Toa-hunters. The Toa Nuva were so much more than just normal, run-of-the-mill Toa. And when the clashed, the Toa Nuva went out without even a wimper. I expected this to be the battle to end ALL battles. I expected part of Voya-Nui to be blown into oblivion from the raw might of the Toa Nuva's untamed power. Instead, we never got to see it. The Toa Nuva suddenly lacked the essential powers that made them "Nuva." No more extreme element usage, no more extreme unchecked power of the masks. The Toa Nuva suddenly became like what they were before, except for a little bit of tin-foil armor. It was perhaps the most disappointing point in my Bionicle fandom, and is ultimately why I put Bionicle behind for good. Firstly, Bionicle isn't on Earth. Even though that "highly acclaimed" (Sarcasm people, sarcasm) Save the band campaign would suggest otherwise, I never even remotely recall Bionicle being on Earth. That is, unless, that the Bionicleverse somehow takes part somewhere on one of those tropical islands in the Pacific ocean. In that case, that would explain the blood. Pridak was merely feasting on unfortunate surfers. Secondly, when did anyone mention that Greg killed the storyline because it's set somewhere in the Bionicleverse? I don't know about other disenchanted fans, but my main gripe with the Greg is the sheer inconsistancies and his continued use of the "reset" button on characters or plot points that have been long standing. I'm not a professional writer, but I do know what appeals to me and what doesn't. I like a story that stays consistant. You've heard my rant on the Toa Nuva's depowerment at the hands of the Voya Nui saga. And I'm sure you're also aware that the Toa Nuva fought the Bohrok-Kal without their Kanohi-Nuva powers. (I'm talking about the shared power thing) What about Metru-Nui? Sure, it was intricate, but it left more questions than it answered. To this date, we STILL don't know who the Toa Nuva really are or where they came from. Even though Greg did maintain that they just fell out of the sky, Turaga Lihkan says they're just matoran from Metru-Nui. Oh, and don't forget those massive personality shifts for the Toa. Lewa went from a wise-cracking, semi-angsty, but serious-when-it-mattered hero to another Le-Matoran who spouts corny and irrelevant treespeak comments every single moment he's shown. That's the main one, but there are other discrepancies in the other Toa too. Oh, and don't forget how even though their bios say they're different, not many of the Toa Inika retained their old personalities. So, why do I blame Greg? Personally, I think he killed the OLD Bionicle. The simple, but remarkably interesting storyline where we actually got to see more of the characters themselves. There was actually a time when we could actually see more to the characters than just those bland stereotypes we have now! Even though Tahu's bio said he was the "angry one", he sure wasn't angry all the time. Kopaka was cast as the silent one, yet when it came to the comics, he was more of a Batman. He talked, but with a certain indrescribable edge. Sure, we didn't have a million different islands with a million Toa and some unnessarily large, untrackable line of villians, but that's what made Bionicle unique to me. So, yes, Greg did kill the old way of Bionicle after doing a fantastic job up until the Metru-Nui saga, but he's created a new one. To me, this new approach just isn't floating my boat, and that's why I've traded in my love of Bionicle for Avatar, a theme that actually appeals to me in the ways Bionicle once did. Oh and waaaaaay back on topic, even though I've dropped my love of the Bionicleverse, I'm still going to pick up some sets. While the Pridak looks less appealing then before, I still like it for his weapons. Though I have to admit, those legs are horrid! Why would anyone ever think reusing the Rahkshi leg structure would be GOOD for a Barakki?
-
I really hope the red is just a result of a personal colour choice rather than blood. The fact that anything in the Bionicle-verse has blood really knocks me for a loop. When I thought characters "die", they'd just dissassemble cleanly, but still can't be put back together. Now they have blood!? Well then, looks like I'm joining Lord Admiral's crew. EDIT: Ah, I see. Wait, organic fish? Aren't they all supposed to be made of technic parts? Or did they change that already?
-
Heh, actually, that photo album isn't mine. :-$ My sets are still being processed as we speak! Godspeed, my Shop@Home order, godspeed. :-D
-
Okay, yeah. You have to get rid of one of the "http://" tags. But in any case, post the pictures, working or not, then let us have a shot at fixing the problem for ya. :-)
-
Hmm... Yeah, I was planning to make my first purchase too, up until I had problems since this afternoon. I logged on and everything, but when I clicked on the site, it loaded for about 2 minutes (I have DSL), and then the dreaded "Page cannot be displayed" thingy smacked me. Well, good to know it works for everyone else! This must be a result of not turning off my computer for 3 days, I guess. :-D
-
While I can't confirm about uploading new models, or problems with the button size, I can confirm that I haven't been able to access the "Pick a brick" section of the site. Perhaps the LEGO Factory page is going under some problems?
-
Hmm... I put it pretty easy already, so I'm not too sure how else I can explain it... Say, do you know how to copy and paste the address for the pictures? If you do, could you post the addresses? Just do a simple copy and paste, then post! I'll turn them into images from there onwards for you.
-
Instead of doing the tree icon thingy, you should do the following: [ IMG ] Url here [ /IMG ] Just remember to remove the spaces in the img tag so instead of "[ IMG ]" it looks like "". Same goes with the one with the slash in it!

Stage 23 is up! It's similar to typical "filler" episodes in anime, but it's good filler! I really love how they're not focusing on just the Exo-Force, but also the rest of the human defenses! And for the first time, we see a female member of the human forces! Kinda curious as to what Sensei's secret is though. I can't wait for the fight that's going to be in the next chapter. Keep it up, LEGO!

Oh cruel, cruel fate! I thought these would be out at Christmas, but it isn't so! Oh dear, I'll never survive. Oh, and I called it! I knew they were going to pass the Zamor ball off as an energy grenade, and the sword as some incredible anti-ship sword. The Blade Titan looks absolutely incredible. It's got the new frame, but it has those little bits and pieces that really demonstrate the transition from the 2006 mechs to the "Sky Guardian" frame. Well, doesn't look like I'll be the first to review Hikaru's mech this time around! Pity, considering my completely obsessive photo-taking tendencies. Oh well, best of luck to the reviewer!
