Mafia After Dark - Day 1: Confirmation
TrumpetKing replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I have been informed by my newly acquired assistant, Tony the Tiger, that the impostor was actually a very feminine-looking male. That explains the very sexy beard. Speaking of sexy beards, hello Dexter. *Dexter unbuttons his suit a little, intensely staring at Dexter* -
Mafia After Dark - Day 1: Confirmation

The case was a terrible loss, and it devastated me. I mean, I looked so dashing, I don't know how we could have lost! Oh, you meant the details? Some crazy-megablocks lady dressed up as Tony the Tiger and started throwing bowls of cereal everywhere. Tony wasn't too happy. Needless to say, he talked to me, saw my license, and he knew I was grrrrrrrreat! The judge wasn't too impressed. Apparently a year's worth of education, a license from quicklawyerlicensing.fake, and dashing looks weren't enough to support a court case. But I did get some time in bed with the doppelganger afterwards. -

Terrence Knox here to assist, though things just haven't been the same since we lost the Tony the Tiger case. -

Hinckley has been rather busy, lately, so I'm not sure if he'll be your best bet. There's also Shadows, who's a pretty strong player. Always trust Shadows. -

Are we voting now? Vote: Princess Jellybean (Purpearljellyblob) Because I'm scum and she's too smart For spewing out smart nonsense. Oh wait I shouldn't have said that. Unvote: Princess Jellybean (Purpearljellyblob) Vote: Shannon Doe (Shadows) for starting the vote. Scummy bastard. Oh wait, always trust Shadows . Unvote: Shannon Doe (Shadows) I'll just jump on some bandwagon later. Scummy McSandvitch's is pretty convincing. -

My Target says that they're in stock, but they haven't actually been in stock for a while, so I'm not sure if I should even bother looking. -
Mafia After Dark - Prologue
TrumpetKing replied to Tamamono's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
1. Hmmm... I think I've played 8 or 9 games, and hosted one. 2. Well, I've certainly improved since Heartlake Heartbreak. I feel one of my strengths, especially as scum, is talking in PM, so this new rule will certainly be interesting and helpful to my gameplay. One of my weaknesses as scum is trying to hard to win by a gambit, which has screwed me up before, although I guess you could say a gambit helped me win Silver City. One of my weaknesses as town is that I feel I could improve on making myself threatening to the scum, which is something I've wanted to try for a while. Also, I feel like I have a tendency to skim-read posts, which can occasionally spell disaster for me and my team. 3. I don't understand why it's there, but I'm sure there's some sort of reason. It will certainly bring me out of my comfort zone, since I would consider myself a pretty heavy PM user. Sounds interesting and cool. -

Poptropica Cuusoo gets 10K supporters!
TrumpetKing replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This is a very cute little set, and while I haven't played Poptropica, I'd love to have this become a set, and I think it's the most likely to happen. Too bad it likely won't be until mid to late 2014 when we get it. That being said, I think this could very easily result in an actual theme, as noted by Herky. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
TrumpetKing replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow. This topic died a while ago. Sorry to bump such an old topic... Anyways, I was able to finish Series 10 today, so I figured I'd give my thoughts on each figure, starting with my least favorite. 1. Motorcycle Mechanic- I really dislike this figure, to be honest. I think what bugs me is his face. I love the torso and legs, but the face just isn't doing it for me. I really don't like the face at all, and the faces are something I really look for in minifigures. I also just find him boring compared to the others. 2. Baseball Fielder- It's not that he isn't a good figure, because he is. In fact, he's actually a pretty good idea. However, I just have no need for him, and if I weren't a completionist, I would probably have skipped him. He's a perfectly executed figure but he just lacks the pizzazz that some of the figures that stood out to me have. 3. Sad Clown- Yes, go ahead and hate me for not liking him. I just find him boring. He's a clever idea, and the hat is great, but nothing really interests me about him. I think the rather shortage of printing is what bugs me. But that's just me. 4. Skydiver- Believe it or not, he was one of my favorites when pictures were released. And while he's low on my list, he's not as bad as everyone seems to make him appear, I think.I don't have a use for him, but he's still a cute little figure. 5. Paintball Player- This is an OK figure. He's better than some, but he's not as good as a lot of the series, in my opinion. The gun is great, though. The suit is alright, but there's something about it that just seems.... off... Regardless, I also was confused as to why the helmet was black. I personally would have preferred it in grey, but that's my opinion. 6. Tomahawk Warrior- I was originally NOT looking forward to this figure, but now that I have him, I think he's a nice little addition to the series, though I wish there weren't so many warriors and soldiers in this series. The mohawk is wonderful to see released in yet another color (we've seen Magenta(?), Lime Green, and Black). I like the two different tattoos on the arm as well. The face is certainly interesting but I don't have a use for it. I really dislike the legs though. I like the loin cloth, but why not make his legs yellow then? I think LEGO was trying to avoid controversy there. 7. Bumblebee Girl- Another figure that I was pretty impressed with, despite not liking the original pictures. I was a bit surprised to see that the helmet was a rubbery piece. The bucket is amazing, as are the wings. The head is alright, but it's great for kid figures. I think the main problem I have with the figure is that the torso and leg printing looks a little off to my eyes in particular, but it's still a nice figure, even if the suited figures are a bit pointless. 8. Warrior Woman- Yet another pleasant surprise figure. The shield is amazing. The spear is alright, but I'm not a fan of the gold tips, though I like it a little better than the entirely gold spear. The hair she has is nice to see in black, but I noticed that mine is actually a little loose. The face looks alright, but it also looks a little uncomfortable. The outfit is definitely something I wasn't expecting, but looks pretty good. I do prefer the torso more, though. 9. Librarian- I had a bit of a tough time deciding between this one and number 10 on my list. The book is very cute, and the whole story behind it is great as well, but the problem is how white the edges get when opened, similar to that of the Guitar Case. Perfect hair, though it isn't one that really screams "Librarian" to me. Perhaps the bun would have been a good choice as well. The cup is cute, but I'm getting a bit tired of seeing cups, as well as those "skater" helmets. They've bee showing up in CMF's pretty frequently lately. The other thing I feel when I see the figure is that without the accessories, she's just a nerd girl, so I feel like the figure has to rely on the accessories to look like a Librarian. 10. Revolutionary Soldier- This was another very, very pleasant surprise. I was left rather bored with this figure by pictures but when I got my hands on him I had a hard time putting him down. The wig is phenomenal, and I honestly expected it to be soft plastic, when it's a very great quality harder plastic. I love the bow in the back as well. The uniform, while simple, is top-notch. It's nice to finally get my hands on the older musket. How I missed it, I have no idea. Great fig. 11. Decorator- I have always lived this figure. Why, I have no idea. He's just a great one. The overalls are done well, but I feel like they were painted on a little lightly, or they have a grey-ish tint from the torso on them. The paint roller is great as well, and it does bend slightly, even though it's a hard plastic piece, but I don't mind it at all. The only major problem is that I feel like this is the figure where I really noticed the quality of the Chinese plastic. 12. Roman Commander- This little guy was down low on my lists as well. What was I thinking?! Very strong member of the series, with plentiful detail. The torso looks a little... metallic... as well, which is actually a cool detail. A lot of people complained that the helmet wasn't painted to look shiny. To be honest, it doesn't really bug me. I still think it looks great. The only complaint I have is the weird forehead wrinkles, which are totally natural, and that doesn't even matter since they're covered anyways. 13. Sea Captain- A cool little figure. I'm so happy he got arm printing, even though it wasn't even necessary. The hat is oddly enough, basically a smoother version of the new police cap from Series 9. This figure is everything I'd have expected him to be and more, and he deserves this spot. The seagull is also top notch, though it is a bit rubbery. 14. Medusa- When I first got this figure, I had no interest in it. The only reason I was buying her was so I didn't have to worry about not being able to find a rare and popular figure later. I don't even know why, since I had a Medusa on my wishlist a while back. Needless to say, it made it to my Top 3 of the Series. I have absolutely no use for this figure, but it's just so adorable with it's two faces that I can't help but love it. The torso and tail are printed wonderfully as well. I don't know what I'll do with the hair, but when I thought of Medusa, the did the hair exactly how I hoped, so I'll have to find a use somehow. 15. Grandpa- I had also been hoping for a Grandpa, and I can't think of a better way to do this. The face s great, and while the hair looks a little odd at times, it's a genius piece. The overalls were done fantastically, and I love how they fave him a gut and actually continued to make him look fat in his back printing. The newspaper looks great too, but the cup is kind of boring. Still a great figure. 16. Trendsetter- I don't even know what the point of this figure is, or why we needed it, but I love it and am happy that we got it. I have so much usage for this figure. The phone and chihuahua are great, and the hair is one of my favorite pieces of the series, though it does cover up a bit of the face. The outfit is easily one of my favorite female outfits as well. The face is a bit hard to use with other hairs, but I've also found a few that do work, which is great. I just don't have enough to say about how much I love this figure. Overall, this series is strong, but I do like other series better. This series did have a lot of AMAZING figures that exceeded my expectations when pictures were released though, which is great as well. I'm fairly pleased with this series.- 1,076 replies

I personally don't agree with your statement. Seeing how this biography is about a Cavewoman, it makes a little bit of sense to me, because Cave people are seen as primitive. It's also worth note that the Caveman was set up in a way to sound as if he has low intelligence, a common cave person stereotype. All it's saying is that she's smarter than her husband. The entire bio on her is set up to sound like she has a higher intelligence than her male counterpart, so I personally don't mind this statement at all, when you look at the entire bio as a whole. I can see where you come from, but I simply don't agree, and that's just my opinion.

You don't know for sure whether we read or not. How I personally interpret that is saying that figures might closely resemble figures we've seen before, such as Johnny Thunder, but they won't be Johnny Thunder, as we've seen him already. A very close resemblance could easily be considered "new-again". I think the figures will all be entirely new designs, but some of these will, as noted, closely resemble/pay a homage to popular figures we've seen from older sets. I don't see why they would release previously released characters anyways, as they would have done that with CMF's long before. As for main characters, I find it hard to explain why I don't think we'll see any in this series. I think it's because a.) We're sure to see them in 17 sets, b.) We have NEVER seen any CMF's that are strictly based on a character. We have seen very close resemblances and changed names, but never actual characters with actual character names, so I just don't see a figure being called "Emmet" in the series. But that' just me.

Has anybody read The Cukoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith(J.K. Rowling)? I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I know that it,s an entirely different genre, but I'm still interested in it, seeing that it is by her. Is it a good read and worth purchasing?
