"Sounds good. You gonna want my tonic afterwards, or is someone else givin' you one?"

Erik looks around at the civilians following them."Ah, sorry, must've miscounted. Look, how about we just search the rest of the rooms in this wing? There's still the last door on the left, and the first and last doors on the right, I think. These people are fairly safe with the nearby demons killed, unless there's something hiding in the pipes in the lavatory; we can save everyone we can first, before we worry about sendin' 'em back."

"How about Noel waits by the box, then we get the two we met earlier, Cheyenne and Amanda, and bring them to the box, then everyone gets in and Noel teleports it? Either way, we should go back to where we left the box, in the taxidermy cupboard, rather than spending Ether to bring it here. We already killed the monsters in that room."

Erik turns to the rest of the party. “Yeah, if Noel waits here, maybe we can send those two other fools to safety, along with these more agreeable ladies and gentlemen already following us.”

Erik equips his Peacekeepers Totem and diplomatically says "Look miss, as my companions have said, you stay here, you ain't likely to live. Dunno what your problem with the halfling is, but I can't imagine it's worth dyin' over. Just next door in taxidermy storage, we got a big box we can send you all home to safety in. You won't have to put up with him after that." After that, he equips his Barbarian Boots in place of his Peacekeepers Totem.

Erik listens to the other heroes conversations, but doesn't comment. Hmph, fashion. Sad story of Heckz'. Can't change the past, though. He follows the rest of the group.

Erik grabs his Peacekeepers Totem and says Diplomatically "Look, guys, we've already been attacked by two sets of monsters, and fought them off. In one case, there were more than a score of the demons. You could be attacked here by something, and while I'm sure, Mr Cayenne, that you have considerable fighting skills, you'd be hard pressed to fight off swarms of enemies and defend your lady friend at the same time. If we put aside our disagreements for now, we could band together to increase both of our groups chances of survival. Besides that, if you hide in this room, you will have no way of finding a way out of here."

"Sounds good." I'll be away for the next three days and will not have internet. Anyone may control Erik during that time if they wish. Sorry.

Erik thinks back to what he knows of the buildings layout. "Professor, to get to your artifact, we go up the stairs to the right, do we? Alternatively, we could leave the artifact for now, and try those other rooms in the west wing that we passed earlier, to see if there're any people alive in them."

Another puzzle of a sort, I think. I'll put spoiler tags on so other people can try and find it if they want.

"With a bit of luck and providence, no other children will require essences. Yes, I say we grab that artifact. No sense rushing off to find people if we can't save 'em when we find 'em." Erik says, looking sadly at the childs body.

Erik rushes down the stairs and pours a Phoenix Essence on Ixion.

"I'll hit 'im again, let me go first and if he gets petrified, we save an Essence." Erik attacks the Reaper with Titanic Axe from the back row. So, would a Phoenix Essence revive Ixion, or is he too dead for that?

"Eh, if Sorrow's gonna heal 'im before me anyway, there's not much point me spendin' the ether. Might as well try an' petrify him while he's a newt." Erik swings his Titanic Axe at the Reaper from the back row. "So, no-one's gonna try blowing the floor out from under him?"

Endgame, I think Erdathcath's Amulet of Optimism means that Progg Executioner A should be confused.

"Be careful, Thalion - we don't want to wake him up. Perhaps use Sleeper? Karie, perhaps try putting those coins on his eyes? Or I could try and hit him until he's petrified - never had much luck with that, though. Erik casts healing on the reaper through Voltedge. So presumably we can beat him without the artifact.

"Eh, sure. Someone else wanna try healing then?" Erik throws a bone at the reaper.

"What about those torches on the wall? Perhaps they'd hurt him? Except none of the light spells worked. And that'd probably be two actions. Phoenix Essence might work, or just healing. But healing's normally for undead, not demons. Maybe the phoenix essence? Or a mage could use their job trait to blast a hole in the floor under him? There's no point stunning him, we're better off putting him to sleep. Heckz, maybe your Pitchfork of Abomination would hurt it? It pierces all defences, right? Karie, could you turn it into a Newt?" Suggested actions: Heckz pitchforks it, Sorrow tries to scare it off with a torch, Erik casts healing on it, Karie casts Newt on it Noel blasts the floor out from under it. If it's still a threat, Thalion and Amorith put it to sleep. "Ave Imperator, morituri te salutant" Erik calls to the demon. Edit: Bold Latin, I don't think it's likely to get the demon to go away, but worth a shot.

"Blast! I'll try a heal. Maybe one of you rogues could flee and grab that artifact the professor mentioned?" Erik attempts to stand between the Reaper and the girl, and heal the Reaper. "Your brother is dead, girl. There's nothing you can do for him now except run."

Erik holds his Titanic Axe in two hands, and charges forward, swinging his axe at the Reapers head. "Yaaargh!"

So, Necromancers Undead are Darkness elemental, right? Wouldn't that mean that in Q85, they'd do double damage to Nebukadnezzar? He's Humanoid and Undead, and Darkness does double damage to Humanoids and normal damage to Undead.

Erik runs towards the fallen professor. He stops. "Eh? I didn't mean I wanted a monopoly on it. Just figured since I have a reasonable chance of meditatin', and I don't need to save healin' juice for no fancy mind-control tricks, I had more juice to burn than you did... Right, healing." He looks down at the professor just in time to see him all healed up, and Karie with an empty Grand Potion. "Ah, sorry about that. Don't look like you need any more healin'." He equips his Peacekeepers Totem instead of his Barbarian Boots, and Diplomatically says "Yeah, we can protect you from the monsters. Noel, no disrespect to his magic skills, but I get the feelin' he ain't used to fightin' monsters, he's been through a fight with us, and he's still standin'. Might 'ave even learnt a thing or two. If you stay here, there's no telling what could happen. We were in that cupboard back there, but some stuffed animals just came to life all of a sudden an' attacked us. You might be fine on your own, but I think that's more of a risk than comin' with us." He unequips his Peacekeepers Totem and equips his Barbarian Boots. "Regardless, I think we should head after that monster, through the entrance hall, before it hurts those students."
