Ok then! I don't mean to discourage you, but you do realise that some users won't take to the time to read the entire story? Not because there's anything wrong with the story, its because past trends have shown great volumes of text are a bit daunting for the average user to tackle. Don't let that stop you from completing the story though as things might have changed since then. By the way you've introduced "Ravensburg" like this: "In addition, Lord Marshal of the Marines, Gabriel Vostroya, petitioned the government that he and his First Regiment of 1000 men should sail with the fleet. At the insistance of Ravensburg, his request was granted." Which makes it a bit confusing with references to "Ravensdorn" in the previous paragraph. Further down you've mentioned "Greggef Ravensburg" though for the most part he's called "Greggef Roterbart" - if I'm following correctly. Is this intentional because its a bit confusing?

An early sign of a SYSTEM Pirate theme revival?
Mister Phes replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Pirates
This is a very good point! But I'm guessing they saw it the other way round. I.e. The new ride was to support upcoming sets. Although the ride don't do much good if you can't get to LEGO Land California and that would be the majority. -
What is the Malten liquor that comes in a bottle or a can?

Mr Imperial Scouts, you make it seem like you're walking to Portugal :-D

A new playmate for Hobbes - YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

Yes I agree Mr Ghoulrealm this MOC appears as though it could have been on of the larger LEGO sets in most respects, though perhaps a little too big to fall within reasonable size standards of an official LEGO set. Nonetheless it retains much of the charm of the Caribbean Clipper yet its creator has expanded it to a decent size. Although I'd make a few more customisations to differentiate between the Serapis II and the Caribbean Clipper. The British flag is a nice touch however I'd probably go as far as creating custom sails. Perhaps the only addition I'd make to the sails is adding the Soldier Coat of Arms to one of the masts in a similar way the Skulls Eye Schooner has a skull and cross bones on one of its sails.

Excellent work Mr Bonaparte! Although its probably safe to make the images 800 x 600 so if you should feel inclined to resize any images in the future then you can make them a little bigger. But what you've done is marvelous so we send you many thanks! I've also created two new tutorials which can be found in the How to create thumbnails & Improving Links thread.

Formatting Links There are a couple of ways you can improve the way you post links: Improving Visibility It is recommended that hyperlinks are bolded and span three or more words. Example A (1 word, no bold): This is an example with a one worded and unformatted hyperlink sitting within a paragraph of text. Typically unformatted on worded hyperlink looks like this: Click here. First note that the link is not active so don't bother clicking it because it won't take you anywhere. How easily do you think this link is spotted amongst all the text? Example B (4 words, bolded): This is an example with a four worded and bolded hyperlink sitting within a paragraph of text. A four worded and bolded hyperlink looks like this. First note that the link is not active so don't bother clicking it because it won't take you anywhere. How easily do you think this link is spotted amongst all the text? How to create these links: First write the text you want to become a link. Highlight the text and press the Bold button. Now highlight the text within the bold tags and press the Insert Link button Enter the hyperlink in the dialogue box which appears and press OK Naming Brickshelf Links A typical link to a Brickshelf Folder looks like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=172964 However they can be presented and named more meaningfully, like this: Imperial Ground Forces Brickshelf Folder Where possible use a name similar to that of the Brickshelf folder or a name relevant to its contents, rather than using the Brickshelf folder's direct link. If you can ascertain a decent name from the folder then at the very least use View Brickshelf Folder as the link.

Well Count Sneffy you should note that the creators (well most of them) who are using these names derived from Star Trek don't seem to be posting here. Personally, I prefer actual history opposed to Star Trek and I'd rather not combine Pirates and Star Trek whatsoever. Not that I have any problem with Star Trek the Original Series, the Animated series or the Next Generation - all quite entertaining, although its different story for those other 3 Star Trek series...

An early sign of a SYSTEM Pirate theme revival?
Mister Phes replied to Athos's topic in LEGO Pirates
We must bare in mind this ride is an expansion to "Pirate Shores" so its not like a whole new pirate section is being implemented, they're just adding to what's already there. You can see images of Pirate Shores in Imperial Scout's Life size models anyone? thread. The LEGO sculptures look fine, but their surroundings seem a bit dismal. As far as I'm aware Pirate Shores was added because of the 4+ Pirate theme, as prior to it LEGO Land California had no Pirates whatsoever. So maybe this ride comes in the wake of the Duplo theme that was released last year, then again maybe its a prelude to something greater. -
And now I shall comment on the first Pirate LEGO animation posted in this thread, "LEGO Pirates: Treasure"... A cheerful tune carries along after the initial "ARRRRRs" at beginning. The animation is simple stop motion but what adds to the dynamism is the moving the camera shots. However it appears the animators were somewhat limited in this department as they don't seem to have any shots of animation while the camera so Ray Harryhausen wouldn't be feeling envy after viewing it. However, that's more of an observation than a complaint. The animation is quite charming and I especially like how the Pirate mini-figures leave footprints. It would seem there's more treasure outside the chest than there is inside, but I assume this is intentional because the actual treasure is the "Real Californian Cheese" or thats what I assume because a plug for cheese precedes the big reveal.

Is there any chance of getting pictures of the box? If you've ever visited The Great Library of Honduras you may have noticed an empty sub-forum called Box Art. One day I hope to fill it with box art from every set from every country so if you'd like contribute just let me know...

But not as nice as the fort! We'll have to get a sized down image of that fort to put in the first post of this thread. Its too nice not to be posted!

The creator might believe that the blue coats are British Naval forces and therefore they are not French LEGO flags. All a matter of perspective really.

You're doing a great job Bonaparte! I should expect your work will be noticed by other Administrators. One thing though... Is Comic Sans the best font for your indexes? I've got a resolution of 1680 x 1050 and I find it a little difficult to read at the font size you're using.
-
I prefer this image: The lighting makes it look even more interesting.
-
Mr Willems is doing your job for you Mr Tiber, he's quite a legend! As for this MOC, does anyone suppose its creator came up with the name after watching the Firefly series or the Serenity movie?

Users cannot Edit thread titles so it has to be done by a Moderator or an Administrator. So I've renamed it... Tell me what you think, is the new thread title and description more fitting?

Transformers Movie information revealed
Mister Phes replied to UltraPrime's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I agree the G1 designs wouldn't work in a live action movie, but I also don't like the new the designs. However, I'm coming from a "make a G1 live action" movie mentality and that's not what this movie is intended to be. -
The auction hasn't ended yet and its already US $82.24 which is far too much considering I owe money to other eBay sellers, but not because I cannot afford to pay them, because they are allowing me time to win several auctions in order to combine postage. US $82.24 is is $106.501 of my local currency which is quite expensive. Then there's the shipping fee, which will add another $20 to the price. So from the perspective of a student without full time employment reconsidering thoughts wouldn't be advisable at present. How does the European version differ to the US version? Was this back in 1995 or more recently?
-
I have one too but its opened so I would buy a copy in MISB condition, but alas my finances do not permit for this particular auction.

Shall you be placing a bid for Mr Jamtf?
