Actually, I'm not sure if the 4+ failed but there was never a second round so whether that's was an indication of poor success or maybe The LEGO Group intended it that way.
-
What of Knights Kingdom though? That appears to be a Historic theme despite its futuristic elements, so do we know how well that sells?

Xwingyoda posting in the pirate forum? This is outrageous as Vader posting in the Pirate forum which happened in this thread last week if you missed it! :-D But thank you all the same for taking the time to post this information because its news to me, although I don't really follow the non SYSTEM Pirate themes. Other brands are targeting their Pirate product towards children 7 years and older, whereas it seems The LEGO Group is "shooting in the dark" in an attempt to find a niche that doesn't exist. There's obviously an existing SYSTEM Pirate LEGO fan base so my logic dictates that they should capitalise on this. So now The LEGO Group has marketed Pirates towards the 2+ and 4+ age groups, can we have a decent SYSTEM Pirate theme, please?

STAGECOACH HOLD-UP wild west set #6722
Mister Phes replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Another nitpick I can point out is the whip which is at the feet of horse and partially concealed by the bush. At first I thought it was a snake until I had a closer look and realised it was a whip. I don't think its very good placement, if the whip has to be there then I'd put it in the vacant space in front of the coach driver. Logistically I understand the coach driver would drop the whip from his seat as soon as he was in a spot of bother, however from a presentation perspective it doesn't look quite right. So one might argue that placing it in front of the coach driver is somewhat illogical, but there's a stick of dynamite sitting in front of a horse so the mind boggles why that is there - the bandits trying to blow up their horses? :-D -
Oops! I did look in the Brickshelf Folder but I didn't get round to looking at every image so from thumbnail view I wasn't sure what that was exactly. All cleared up now!

And like The Brickster suggested, do you have any non edited images of your MOC showing different angles and aspects of it? -
STAGECOACH HOLD-UP wild west set #6722
Mister Phes replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's not the siege tower I had in mind - it was one of the more recent ones. But, your Stage Coach is pure brilliance compared to the schemozzle of siege towers that have been released lately. And I'll clarify I wasn't saying that your Stage Coach looks like a siege tower, that's just what it reminded me of in the first few seconds of seeing it. However, I would agree that its probably a little too tall, maybe by one brick. Now I'm not making that assessment based on historic accuracy (screw historic accuracy), I think its more of an aesthetic and proportional issue. For me anyway. -
STAGECOACH HOLD-UP wild west set #6722

And you are succeeding quite well! Egad! Is that how much it cost you to make this? However, one thing I did notice... When I first saw this Stagecoach the first thing that popped into my head was "Seige Tower", which I think is attributed to its height and the use of the brown slopes at the front. -
And something else concerning the stern which has got me pondering... I notice there are a row of hinges along the bottom, presumably to give it that 35 degree angle but could it also lead way to the possibility that the entire stern opens up like a hatch?
-
Yeah The LEGO Company could do this... But they probably never will :'-( It would be very good if they did too because the Imperial Armada really really reeeeally needs a fortress using one of those 48 x 32 base plates and a proper Spanish galleon, not a measly Armada Flagship.

My Lordie!!! 8-o Those sails look magnificent! In fact they make the entire ship look magnificent, not that it isn't magnificent without them but those sails really add to the ship. What kind of fabric are the sails made from, Duke Schunke?
-
Ahhh yes Mister Phred, the stern! Its not quite as as wide as the stern of the HMS Bellerophon is it? Its quite ornate looking and I think the builder has got a nice balance between the yellow and white, plus the hinges on the window frames add to the decoration. However, part the remainder of the ship is black and then there's this big hulking white and yellow stern castle at the rear. So how well does the stern castle work with the rest of the ship?
-
Did you happen to note which set it was from?
-
You're quite a talented lad Mr Paladin! How long ago did you build the USS Potempkin?
-
If you're interested in discussing Entrance to the Caves then here is the Eurobricks thread Norro originally posted it in. You did post it at Eurobricks first, did you not Mr Norro?
-
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! The ghost mini-figure! Of course! I have one of them somewhere... What about the Achu head piece, are all of those decorated or is the one used for this MOC a mod?
-
Mr Tiber would love to do that soon! :-D

Mister Phes replied to V()()D()()'s topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't think that image is too big to be posted in the thread a couple of posts down... Easy for me to say, but what do those with lower resolutions think? And yes, I' interested but no I shan't be buying. -
Now this is one inventive figurehead! Its one of those "simple and effective" designs that even The LEGO Group could incorporate into a set should they ever decide to release a Imperial Armada Treasure Galleon to transport the oodles of Achu's gold back to the old world. But where does the plain white mini-figure come from?
-
Mr Tiber has your answer! We should all thank him for his efficiency. Good work Mr Tiber!, however you forgot to put a link to the HMS Sirius thread to let everyone know they were split. It appears nobody has posted in the Sirius thread so I'm gonna go post there right now!

Greetings Paladin! Thank you for taking the time to join our forum and write this generously long post to educate us further on your wonderful HMS Bellerophon. When I looked at this picture... ...I was thought that the hull was built of bricks, however looking a the photographs I was sure that they were actually hull pieces, so you've certainly done a good job in producing a nice smooth hull!
-
Greetings Mr Wowplayer!
-
Thank you for providing the image Bonaparte and contact the creator. My estimate would be about 6 mid hull section.

That is definitely a better name for York Park, however Aurora might have something to say about having their name dropped from the title. I assume there's some contractual agreement where Aurora has the right to have their name associated with York Park, so it may not be so easy to revert back to its "formal" name. However, York Park is somewhat on the small side so spectator viewing wouldn't be so much a problem - accommodating everyone would be the challenge. Cheap wine in Australia usually indicates the wine is poor quality and quite rancid to drink. Just like anywhere there are also the more expensive labels which are of a much higher quality however I'm not a wine connoisseur or an oenologist so I don't really know how this compares on an international level. Although I do know Australia is the world's 6th largest wine exporter and exports wine to France, Italy and Germany.

Most realistic colour scheme you say, Mr Bonaparte? You don't happen to have an image of real life ship with these exact colours, because I wouldn't have said this particular colour scheme was the realistic.
