  1. Then she would have to be a very BIG little girl to be able to so. I'd like to see a little carry just ONE Skulls Eye Schooner box let alone a copy of each different Pirate set. Besides, in the comic the girl (Camilla) is unarmed and possesses nothing of value, aside from the fact she's Governor Broadside's niece and taking a small child prisoner or harming them in the fact or relative is a very despicable act.
  2. Yes, a list is quite fine. I only suggested to take images to save you some writing, but if you're happy to do that then go right ahead! I can't wait to see your lists!
  3. And just how much would you bet Norrington? Your lack of character judgment needs improving just like your story writing skills :-D
  4. This one is titled "Pirates!" by Jeremy Fisher I'm not sure how you got Redbears_fort Eldorado but its not the correct title and should be corrected. And now I'll do a small review of "Pirates!" by Jeremy Fisher. The story is quite simple, Captain Redbeard spies Eldorado Fortress and clumsily blasts it a cannon, this alerts the Soliders to his intentions and they launch a counter attack which sinks the Black Seas Barracuda. Captain Redbeard is left dead in the water - not literally though! The camera used to take pictures from this animation was definitely lacking in quality and quite possibly it was the still image feature thats provided with most modern camcorders. The animation was quite choppy and jerky too, probably not the 15 frames per second that animation requires to flow smoothly. One credit I will give is the interesting use of cellophane to simulate water as translucency gives it a more liquid like quality. Like many of these custom animations it borrows heavily from the Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl soundtrack. Obviously because its an abundant and appropriate soundtrack for Pirate animations but it would be refreshing if more of these home animators sourced a different score. Also the accents of the character still sound "Americian" even though the vocal artist has employed some effort to disguise it. So unfortunately I didn't enjoy this animation as much as I enjoyed LEGO Pirates: Treasure
  5. And Note the first frame on this page of the comic that there's a pirate about to attack a small girl...
  6. According to which pictures, Mr Norrington?
  7. Arial is just fine. Generally Sans Serif Fonts are easier to read at any resolution wheras Script Fonts tend to look chunky or distorted at the higher resolutions when a smaller font size is used. I think what you've got now is just fine. Another thing... Is there any particular order or grouping you're listing these MOCs in?
  8. Or the other option is to change it to Arial which displays fine at this resolution. Depends upon how keen you are to keep Comic Sans.
  9. HTML has been disabled for security reasons. But what's the point in sharing these tune? How does it relate to thread or the MOC in question? Just coincidentally two nights ago I watched Rocky for the first time...
  10. This isn't the first time I've gone to write "007" but I usually correct myself before posting, it appears this one slipped through the editorial net. I was specifically referring to Norrington's original arguement that the Pirates were the heros because the comic storyline "centres" around them. However, the entire thread isn't based on that arguement because Norro contributed a different perspective with his belief that the LEGO magazines also depicted the pirates as "heroic".
  11. Yes, Mr Norrington you've got a good point because in most instances the more technologically advanced civilisations usually conquered the less technologically civilisations. But the point is not everything has to be 100% historically accurate in fiction. Having mentioned that Captain Cook met his demise to less technologically advanced race, so why couldn't it happen in other instances?
  12. Mr 007 I think you've provided a better summation of what I was trying to communicate a couple posts ago. I don't think the topic is silly, but perhaps the arguement is.
  13. The Ewoks helped defeat the mighty Imperial Forces in Return of the Jedi, so...
  14. Imperial Scouts and Mr Tiber are quite capable of adding that link to the first post. It appears neither of them has cleaned up the first post on this thread yet and I would be most annoyed if I have to do it myself because there is a much more important project I should be working on. But anyway... Lets discuss this fort What splendid architecture it possesses - so subtle yet very effective. It would be good if LBaixinho was here to discuss this wonderful creation with us.
  15. I haven't seen all the commercials yet so I suppose I can't really assess. I've seen the first one and there's unpirate related product placement at the end because obviously its an advertisement. So perhaps what I should have written is: There is a Community Forum but since this is Pirate themed we might as well keep it with all the other Pirate threads. But do you and Imperial Scouts think this thread is in the wrong forum?
  16. Well if the pirates are winning doesn't that make them evil for attacking and invading the Imperial Guards? Historically weren't the Imperial Guards put in place to keep the evil pirates in line?
  17. LEGO magazine? I haven't seen these magazines but as for the catalogues... It doesn't appear Captain Roger is in a winning situation in that particular cataolgue. Although for the most part the catalogues don't depict either faction as being the "good guys." Well from my perspective at least.
  18. There is a Community Forum but since this is 100% Pirate related we might as well keep it with all the other Pirate threads. These look quite entertaining so I'll have to watch them when I have some time.
  19. You'd do well to take some lessons in writing stories Mr Norrington. Just because a story centres around a certain character doesn't automatically make that character a hero or "good" as such.
  20. However, for the sake of the feedback poll I'll keep them as seperate threads for the time being. So if anyone has any comments, feedback or suggestions regarding this tutorial: POST THEM HERE!!!
  21. I think its a good idea but unfortunately its not that simple. For you see the posts are sorted chronologically so if I was to move the above posts or merge the threads then posts be adhered to the very end of the thread. So what we'd have is the first tutorial about 15 posts of discussion and then the two tutorials which wouldn't be very orderly. The second option is to edit the first post of the other thread and add on to it but I'm reluctant to do that because the post is already long, and when posts get really long they become hard to manage. Besides I'd lose my feedback pole. Third option is to merge the tutorial posts and move the discussion posts to a seperate thread. Maybe that would be the most convenient option but I'll leave them as they are for the moment.
  22. First of all Mr Norrington I have excellent news regarding improving the visible of links. Check out the Improving Link Tutorial! Now onto the thread... I don't recall the Pirate Comic making the Pirates out to be the heros... Governor Broadside was more arrogant and aggressive than in other storylines but I don't see as he or the Imperial Guards being Evil in that story. Within the first few pages the Pirates are attacking one of the Governors ships, so how does that make the Pirates heros?
  23. So here we have Emperor Achu front and centre while King Kahuka is down a step, and then there's another King Kahuka in the top left. How's this work? Are the Islanders in the Kahuka masks elite warriors or play slightly less significant roles than they do in official LEGO sets?
  24. Make sure you get a decent digital camera and take lots of pictures of all the historic sites.
