  1. I agree that the official LEGO string is best but, but is there something similar to the string and of equal quality? Even if its more expense it could be worth the price just to get a closer match as possible.
  2. I've mentioned a few times I have have an affinity towards the "Golden Age" LEGO themes but limited myself to Pirates due to financial and space restraints - so its no secret. This was quite an accident because I only used that face because I didn't have a Johnny Thunder face at the time. To be honest I don't really like my current face.
  3. You have guessed correctly! The yellow lamp is about the only thing from the set that wasn't changed. And who says I won't be playing with it in the bath? X-D Not that LEGO floats anyway... Mr Tiber is correct. Although I wasn't planning on putting a great deal of effort into this MOC so I just grabbed the two nearest Pirate mini-figure which happened to have the same face. Normally I'd choose two different faces. I knew I should have changed the flag! But I definitely think that sword is too big to be used with SYSTEM Pirates. Yes, and partly because Kirk had horrendous spelling and grammar - he may yet redeem himself though.
  4. Ahhhh the interior! I think for a run port it could really use one of those big western barrels to store the rum in because it looks more like a weapons storage facility. Also it appears that staircase goes to nowhere. I think some kind of 2 wide tile against the wall would make it seem more purposeful.
  5. Nobody said your opinions are worthless but your hostile attitude is devaluing them. What do you think you're to bringing to this forum besides a bad attitude? I have no idea how much you frequent this forum because you only ever respond in threads like these, but being part of a community is being more than just a casual observer. There are plenty of users who make wonderful contributions to the discussions and by participating in discussions users get to each other better. Now lets use an analogy... A stranger comes to town, he doesn't mingle with the locals, never makes friends but always turns up at the town meetings. At one town meeting he aggressively starts telling the mayor how things should be done, accusing him of being a dominator in the process, and wonders why the mayor becomes agitated. How much credibility within the community does that stranger have? Then you shouldn't have contradicted yourself by writing "As for independance: you and he (the ones who seem to be making all the decisions) have made it very clear that the Pirate LEGO Forum is not now and will never be independant." Furthermore I don't have to answer to you immediately, I'll provide the information when I feel its necessary so therefore you wait patiently and not formulate inaccurate conclusions. This is not a debate and your conclusions are not reasonable nor inaccurate. I already announced what was happening and I don't feel the need to repeat myself. As stated I am the administrator so what I say goes, not Bonaparte or any of the other but they are entitled to share their opinion(s) - that's not hard to understand is it? Your aggressiveness lead me to perceive that you expected the move to be done quickly, but I didn't literally mean 5 minutes either. If you were approaching this topic objectively you wouldn't be getting offended over statements like that. It seems you're taking this quite personally. Your suggestions aren't saving any work because you don't understand the system we have in place. Bonaparte's plan will actually save us work because we won't have so much to do when the time comes. And you're not really sorry so no point being sarcastic about it because you'll get no sympathy. "Newbies" can contribute their ideas to community, there's no problem with that but if they take your irate approach then there will be. Can you see how you've gone about this the wrong way? The reason (and I'm informing everyone of this) we don't move to a new website ASAP is because websites cost money. The Pirate LEGO website must fund itself because I nor anyone else should have to pay for it, although I will be coughing up the initial fees. After it goes live the following months will be dedicated to establishing itself within the AFOL community and give it the opportunity to generate funds. Now Ted Beard, stop making us out to be evil dictators and playing the victim because that's not helping. Whether you're intending to do so or not that is how you're coming across as a very angry person. If you want to make contributions then do so whilst taking an objective and diplomatic approach. If you can't do that then you better not participate.
  6. You might also like to check out webesites like Minifigure Customization Network plus there are a few others which create custom mini-figure parts and sell them.
  7. Its best not to find out the hard way. Perhaps that question is best left for another thread, since this thread is about my cruddy raft - what do you think of my cruddy raft Bonaparte? You haven't told me what you think yet!
  8. Yes, different pronunciations for different regions but the spelling shouldn't change. In English"Mum" is the abbreviation for "mother" but for some reason its been changed to "mom" in Northern America. Obviously many words have been changed in Northern America but to me it didn't really seem necessary to change "mum". But enough of this! We're supposed to be pledging our love of Pirates... Errr... Or Vikings... X-D
  9. If they were "militia" that would imply they were ordinary citizens preforming the duties of the military, so therefore it would be fitting for militia to guarding a rum outpost thus freeing up the actual military to guard more important outposts. X-D
  10. Yes, that's entirely correct Capn Kirk! Now everyone may notice (at the time of me writing this post) that Capn Kirk 911 is in the Bad Kids group. This will happen to anyone who makes too many short posts within a small period of time. The Eurobricks Administration asks that you focus on the quality of your posts rather rather than the quantity. Yes, its fine to write some short posts as Mr Tiber has done in this thread, but when EVERY post you write is short and doesn't appear to have much thought put into it, it appears you're spamming to get a high post count.
  11. What a magnificent little fort! Here's an image the creator has edited for presentation - its a wonder this one wasn't used in the first post. Do we know who the creator of this MOC is? He/she seems to do marvelous work so maybe we should invite this person to discuss with us.
  12. You've definitely gone on your own tangent. I make the decisions because I am the administrator (if not the administrator then who else make decisions for a forum?) and I've made that quite clear to Bonaparate, which you can read for yourself earlier in this thread. I've been in discussions with Hobbes, one of the root Administrators and he's informed me its not going to be a 5 minute transition. Did you miss my earlier post: You're probably just writing this to get some kind of reaction from us, but as mentioned in my previous post its not as simple as just moving everything to a new website because Eurobricks. I'm going to have to ask you read the threads more thoroughly before making contradictory posts, especially since you're not taking a democratic or friendly approach. You're a user of 25 posts so it seems somewhat premature that you're expressing so much concern towards a forum you've barely participated in.
  13. Errrr... Yeah... Explain "mom" to me... Why did it such a simple word need to be changed from "mum"? And the bit that gets me half the Americans I've heard pronounce it "mom" and the other half "mum" with a distinct "u" in the middle. Why is there no consistency? Did you buy all the Viking sets?
  14. 4 Nordic Kings and 4 Nordic war craft to go with them. You've pretty much added a third round onto the Viking theme Mister ZCerberus!
  15. By the way Mr Oo7 its spelt "grammar" X-D
  16. Unfortunately its not that a matter of simply moving the Pirate Forum to a new website because Eurobricks isn't my forum and I must seek approval from other administrators who have the power to do this, as I do not. So in the mean time I'm just taking things one step at time... Design a front page... Register a domain... Restructure the forum... Promote the new look forum and front page... I think you've misinterpreted Bonaparte's meaning, however returning to LUGNET would definitely not assist the Pirate LEGO Forum in becoming independent.
  17. That's mighty nice of ya Holodoc! So once again thank you! *y*
  18. And another recommendation I have is you put a space between each thumbnail to create some separation, because I think the Ship MOC Index looks too much like a montage. You're doing a good job however, so continue with your good work...
  19. I'll look into that but I might not have an answer until this time next week. I think you've confused rows and columns. Rows run horizontally while columns run vertically. Anyway, you could put the thumbnails in rows according to their size. For example: Then
  20. First of all I'd like to know what will happen when the number of Land Based MOCs exceeds the limits of two posts - you'll have to create a third post for them so the thread will be like this: Post 1: Land Based MOCs Post 2: Land Based MOCs Post 3: Custom Cannons Post 4: Custom Cannons Post 5: Land Based MOCs The second thing is: In the MOC Ship Index you've got the thumbnails in rows while in the Land Based MOCs there's just one column - is there any particular reason for this?
  21. Mr Oo7, FYI I've instructed Phred and Bonaparte to link these discussion threads threads to their respective indexes. I didn't write anything about an entire thread being dedicated to custom cannons, nor do I see a link to the Cannon Index in the first post of this thread - do you? Now shall I get a musket? *Sigh*
  22. Actually I haven't been keeping track of my post count and when I saw the thread title "Congratulations Mr. Phes!" I had no idea what it was going to be about. I don't really think accumulating a high post count is very important, but rather the importance lies within the quality of the posts. Posting for the sake of posting definitely isn't commendable, so a user with 10,000 short meaningless posts wouldn't warrant any praise. I'd like to think my greatest achievements lie in developing the Pirate Forum rather than reaching 10,000 posts - but thanks for acknowledging it all the same.
  23. Probably the best tutorials on how to build LEGO Ships at SYSTEM Mini-figure Scale are the set instructions like the Skulls Eye Schooner.
  24. Errrr... Where is this index? I can't see to find a link to it in this thread.
  25. Greetings Mr Heyann! Yes, we do indeed have a similar topic so feast your eyes on thread the laddies have pointed out for you. As for this thread... No point having a measly 5 post thread lurking around our forum. I say MERGE IT!!!
