Weren't the braided ropes of our piratical past a different colour? I also find the cords feel too smooth to rope, but maybe that's because of their size. I wouldn't dream of braiding my own rope for I lack nimble enough fingers to do so.

An early sign of a SYSTEM Pirate theme revival?

Yes, its my goal if life! Dammit! I have to go to the supermarket soon, but I'll make fun of the cashiers while I'm there...
-
I sure can! But I'm wondering about the poll choices - wouldn't it be more logical to have a 1 to 5 rating system rather than what's there now? If someone wanted to rate the sets 5 out of 10 which is 50% or C grade, it can't be done.

An Imperial Armada MOC - there should be more!
Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
We could debate that an allegorical description is a form of metaphor - but lets not, so we focus on the MOC instead! The design of this MOC reminds me somewhat of these sets: -
St Valentines Day is one of those days when I go into hiding so I avoid having to give more attention than usual. But then I forgot I was hours ahead of the rest of the world and started chatting to Silly Sarah on MSN. Then all of a sudden comes "Where's my Valentines Day kiss?" so I sent her one of those eCard things to shut her up. Aside from that I made this smiley so all the Pirate lads could love one another
-
When shall you be doing this, Mr Tiber?
-
Since the set is called "Catapult Raft" I dare say they're catapults, however you've just shed light on what this MOC really is Turbine Raft!!! That's why it has two Pirate mini-figures - one to man each turbine! 6.5 should at least be a somewhere in between C+ and B- C is a pass, and usually you need 50% to pass - unless the grading is really hard.

I don't think anyone uses "discombobulated" but me X-D You are quite correct as an object cannot be thrown into a state of confusion because it is inanimate, however I was using "discombobulated" in an allegorical sense to figuratively communicate "That picture looks very inharmonious and 'busy'" But do you agree Mr ZCerberus, that the design of this MOC is somewhat "discombobulated" in an allegorical sense? :-P -
Phred, your ballista seems very popular so maybe you should create a thread for it and see where the discussion takes you. It seems you could be doing a lot more with it than just having it as an "accessory" to your Viking ship.
-
Congratulations are in order Mr ZCerberus! Do you have any pictures of 'Carpet and Button thread' so we can see what you're referring to?

UPCOMING MOVIE: Pirates of The Great Salt Lake
Mister Phes replied to Capn Frank's topic in LEGO Pirates
They're just covering their behinds in case the film is unsuccessful - if there is sufficient demand for a DVD release then they'll meet this demand otherwise they'll be missing out on an opportunity to make money. However, I'm writing that statement in ignorance because I know nothing about the distributor(s) or the circumstance the film is being released. Nevertheless, even amateur films will be picked up by the larger distributors and become available in greater quantities if they think they can make money from it. Mister Phred, who are the "makers" of this movie and where did you obtain their Email address from? -

Mister Phes replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
No! What's wrong with the world? X-D I'll agree to that, but the builder probably didn't have any hence the more traditional armour. Of course, I might be mistaken and the chrome curiasses may have been cesaed by pirates. You'll need to get some right away, but as they're not cheap that may be a deterrence - especially if you're not a big Imperial Armada fan. Curses on you! You need a more advanced translation system, may I recommend dictionary.com for it translates big English words into smaller and easier to understand English words - I use it all the time. -
Excellent suggestion Mr Tiber! Yes Mr Steam, create a new thread and show us what you're working on if you're able to take pictures.
