  1. These roof tops look very interesting... However, I don't think they're quite suitable for a MOC trying to simulate a SYSTEM Pirate set. But that doesn't mean they won't be useful down the track in another MOC so thanks for sharing them!
  2. This topic seems to be a complete miss. Nobody interested in discussing a mighty English Warship - or has it already been discussed in another thread?
  3. Mr Tiber must be very appreciative then.
  4. I wasn't familiar with 7899 so I looked it up, so for the benefit of others who also aren't familiar here is an image:
  5. Excellent! Did you name any of the other mini-figures in this MOC? Whiskey? Stick to the rum!
  6. What? They aren't the same? X-D
  7. I know what you mean about "don't expect anything to rival your ships just yet" but in my case replace the "ship with "fort". So that's why I started with something small. How much are you changing the distance by - have you decided yet? I notice there's been some talk about 3 stud spacing...
  8. The set under review is not MOC as it was designed by The LEGO Group but the instructions can only be found in Ideas Book 260.
  9. Hmmm... Not sure if I like the jagged roof This was going to be my next venture but it looks like I've been beaten to it!
  10. Ok... Some new roof variations... I still like the very first "slopes" roof I created...
  11. Because its completely in sync with the original theme? So does this "synchronization" compensate for the sets flaws thus giving it a 5 out of 5 rating?
  12. No need to be sorry old chap! Quite happy to teach you how to do it yourself and there's even information in this forum to teach you how to do it. Go to the Creating Thumbnails Tutorial and follow Step 1. The shows you (with pictures) how to obtain the URL of an image. Any problems, just post in that thread and describe what it is, then someone (probably me) will come along to help you.
  13. Errrr... Have you not noticed my signature yet?
  14. Here's a picture of 6235 for convenience sake:
  15. I agree the background needs some work, however its only a set review so I'm not going to spend too much time into it - I've got more urgent Pirate LEGO matters to attend to. Like my MOC for example :-D Oh, and that Pirate Portal website...
  16. This "set" is getting a lot of 5 out of 5 ratings but I'm not really sure why that is. Could you lads elaborate why you've given it 5t? I haven't voted yet, but I think I'm heading towards 3 for this one. I think it looks more like a prototype that could use some refinement.
  17. It depends on the scale he's building it though... But since I've never built a ship before maybe I don't really understand what's going on here.
  18. You could leave it for Mr Tiber to do. He'd love the extra work :-D
  19. But that doesn't mean he won't modify what he's already built to make it fit - or does it? :-P
  20. Ahhh... So you just meant... "I thought I recognised your work in the modified pictures" - the way you phrased it confused me at first. But I know exactly what you're talking about - I'm starting my fourth year at Art School so I've seen a few Picasso's in recent times :-D
  21. That would be awesome! That way we can see how much it evolved or how much your building skills improved over that 6-7 year period.
  22. Both these links should probably also be added to the first post of this thread.
  23. A 16 x 32 baseplate for gun deck? So from this can we determine the ship will be rather larger?
  24. What name is it? You can't copy & paste a picture from website to directly to a text box, you must copy the image's link from the website which hosts it and then paste the link in between BBCode when you go to post it. For example: [img=http://www.server-image-stored-on/image_you_want_to_copy.jpg]
  25. Yes it sure is, and I've noticed shipping to the US is more expensive than anywhere else. Probably because its the furthest!
