Blackbeard, Bloodheart and small crew minifig customs
Mister Phes replied to SirScottLego's topic in Pirate MOCs
How come you're giving them the thumbs down Mr Cole? You said they were awesome. I'm confooooooozed! -
Mr Norro didn't say he was going to make MOCs out of these sets! But that doesn't mean he's not going to. So how can we find out? Ask him of course. Ok I'll ask... Mr Norro, when these sets are in your clutches what do you intend to do with them?
-
How would it be better if they were slip in the middle? You couldn't make the bows wider this way otherwise they be flat at the front. I've been pondering how a piece similiar to this upside-down would work as a hull piece for larger ships:
-
You better get building then! Build the ship the way The LEGO Group intended it then have your brick beasts attack it X-D Its been almost two and a half years after the initial release of the 4+ sets and we haven't seen anymore since. Instead The LEGO Group moved Pirates to Duplo. The Duplo Castle and Knights Kingdom II themes were released simultaneously, so I'd say anything is possible.

Pirate Special? I'm completely unaware of that... But Wikipedia lists it as Special 11

A Cross Cone Clipper on eBay? Thanks for letting me know - I'll bid it up nice and high for you. :skel1: Excellent work! But just to be a nuisance I'll inform you "eBay" is spelt with a lower case 'e' then an uppercase 'B'. X-D -
Yes, bow down before your new emperor... Errr... Moderator.... Whatever he is... X-D

BaronSat delivers us his latest masterpiece, an intricantly detailed, three dimensional diaorama of the original Death Star, just hours before the Battle of Yavin. His masterful craftmanship exceeds the boundaries of dual dimensive mundanity and cubicular claustrophobia - the Baron is literally thinking outside the square, or perhaps even "beyond" it. The MOCs facetted circumscription allows for a conglomeration of what many builders would churn out as a series of subordinated creations. Here we experience a transcendence of unified concepts all cohering harmoniously into BaronSat's chef d'oeuvre (at least for now). However, its brilliance is undermined by the fact Star Wars is the brainchild of George Lucas. Had BaronSat strained his creative facualties to concoct a creation of his own cognition, I'd be elevated to an unsurpassed realm of awestricken euphoria.

Mr Phred, why don't you point Mr Cole in the direction of the MOC Cannon Index? He might that it very useful, especially the cannonade section.
-
Excellent work No. 1 (I'll call Bonaparte No. 2 X-D ) Would you consider living there Baron Sat?
-
Yes you shall so we can have a look at this game in closer detail. Someone kiss Mr Norro for me.

And now I can really put him to work! :skel1:

Where are pictures of this board game? Its the SYSTEM version isn't it?
-
That isn't necessarily true. Just because the 4+ sets won awards doesn't mean there will be no future SYSTEM Pirate releases. Weren't you the one that told me you were going to MOC with 4+ Pirate sets a couple of years ago? But I debated they wouldn't be good to MOC with yet you insisted and you said you'd do it... But never I. In the time since I've done so and I found it very difficult. Don't suppose you've seen Catapult Raft SYSTEMized? Although you may have better luck with the large hull piece.

I remember the one where they tested the scene out of American Graffiti by wrapping a wire around a car's axel and seeing they could yank the rear wheels off by driving really fast. That's about the only part of a Movie Special I recall right now.
-
That's a marvellous idea! We should all make small forts don't you think? As for the fort under discussion, wouldn't it be nice if there was a larger image in the first post? ;-)
-
I wasn't aware that I needed to make a point, I just wanted to present some information that users here may not be aware of. Nor do I recall mentioning anything about the correlation of these awards and The LEGO Group no longer producing 4+ pirate sets.

You're too slow Mister Hobbes, you must be getting old :-P

Is this the Wikipedia Article you had in mind, Mr Cole?

Ok, what do we think of the sails? They appear to be made from paper - is that suitable or should they be made from something else?
-
I've actually forgotten what my previous avatar was - refresh my memory... He certainly looks the part! :-D

We've debated this before, although the topic was slightly different and it wasn't Pirate oriented. I think the topic was along the lines of "at what point did juniorisation begin"? I think juniorisation isn't strictly the size of the piece, its more towards how useful that piece is in other creations. Given that we've seen countless ship MOCs using hull pieces I'd say they're too useful to be <insert that tiresome argument>.

I can't remember if I've seen the Mythbusters: Mega Movie Special or not. I remember they had special after special for a while and it all kind of melded into one Mythbusters mass! Remind us what happened in the Mythbusters: Mega Movie special
