  1. It's a mighty fine effort Mr Axle but it's a bit difficult to see the ship because of the picture quality. It might pay to take another picture of the ship in constant lighting, I wouldn't recommend taking pictures of something in dim lighting with sun light flooding in from the background.
  2. This seems to be MOCish...
  3. Here's a screen shot.
  4. Surely you can get it down to one paragraph.
  5. I think now is an excellent time to send a barrage of cannon balls hurtling towards it X-D
  6. At least its an educational moan but I'm afraid I still don't understand X-D
  7. Captain Green Hair is hosting this wonderful competition where the aim is to build one of those ships found in the Imperial Trading Post. The Winner shall receive a set of sails designed exclusively by Captain Green Hair himself and there will also be a bonus mystery prize which shall be revealed after the competition has ended. 8. This Whipstick has become a flag factory X-D
  9. A poster image would be really benefit for the first post of this thread... As for the film itself... Stop motion animation is challenging and takes years of particle to master so you're very brave to attempt this. Admittedly I don't have the patience or dexterity for this kind of animation and I don't think I'd be able to create something like this myself. I don't know what that sound is at the beginning of the film is, whether is supposed to be the sound of the ocean or if it's just static. Whatever it is it's really really distorted and annoying so I'd recommend removing that ASAP because it seems unnecessary. Ditto with the "crunch sound effect (or is it the microphone being bumped) at 0:29 seconds. From then on the film flows nicely to the tune until the "Soon on the Black Sea Barracuda" text appears. The transition effect seems a bit abrupt and the music probably should also fade out before the text appears, otherwise the doesn't film flow well into the next scene. It would be nicer if the endfilm end by fading to black and the music faded out otherwise it just seems to end without warning. Also the titles are a bit difficult to read, particularly when there are lighter colours in the background. Nonetheless, the music works with the action (for the most part) and accentuates the comedic antics of the characters. Further elements of humour are added with lines like: "Arrr we didn't get any treasure..." "Ohhh... Ok..." The film is a very good effort so you better be back for more adventures soon! *y*
  10. See everybody, Phred is wonderful. Everyone should be like Phred!
  11. If the creator happens to take some decent pictures when construction is complete this MOC may be worth frontpaging.
  12. And 18,000,161.81 Hong Kong Dollars X-D
  13. For such a nice construction it's getting a rather dismal response. Is that because of the picture or because of the time of year do we think?
  14. And I reformatted the first post so the information is more orderly... I've also created a smaller version of the banner for you to upload to your Brickshelf Folders or wherever Get uploading!
  15. I new there was going to be something cheesy about this MOC as soon as I clicked on the link! Fortunately it's cheesy in a good way and not in a horrible distasteful way.
  16. Eh? What's going on here? Strauder has said he was going to interview me TWICE now and then vanished. You rugrats aren't playing games are yaz?
  17. Yeah, I agree about the blue background. Getting an A2 sheet of cardboard is by no means a challenging or expensive feat - it's probably the least difficult aspect of MOCing.
  18. Problem is most people aren't photographers and lack decent cameras which is why we see this half-hearted efforts in the photography department.
  19. Phred will provide us with an image for the first post X-D Eventually...
  20. If we don't have a name then where is this "Fort Carpaccio" title coming from?
  21. That horse looks a bit wonky in it's hind legs...
  22. They should have got out machine guns and shot them all!
  23. There are several threads like this... If it succeeds we keep it, if it goes nowhere we merge it...
  24. I shall now reveal that I am yet to vote >:-)
  25. These painting interpretations keep getting more and more epic! I like the the use of the cobweb to simulate the smoke rather than resorting to digital means. Too bad if you wanted to use it for Santa beard though X-D
