  1. I don't think we have any of those specifically but you could take a look in the Pirate Torso/Decal/Sticker Designs Library and see if there is anything similar.
  2. I mistakenly assumed by cavalry that there was more than one unit... Your picture is way too large to fit in a post. First thing you need to do is resize them so they're about 800 pixels wide.
  3. Or with a little photo editing in a program like Photoshop you could make it appear as though he has his hand in his pocket though that may undermine the design of the MOC.
  4. Ahhhhhhh but what if the ship was intentionally noticeable so it could be used as decoy or a trap?
  5. Did you design the torsos in Illustrator?
  6. You got any progress pictures yet?
  7. You got third Sir Nadroj! So congrat-ye-lations to you too!
  8. Very soon I shall be dishing out the prizes... I'll wait for the lads to read this thread first however.
  9. Well lads get excited about these MOCs! Give the Lord of Pies some feedback back would yers!
  10. COMPARISON REVIEW: 6237 Pirates' Plunder Assamite (we all remember him don't we?) was at a market one day and he stumbled across some Brick sets. He so kindly purchased a couple and sent them to me. I thought it would be interesting to compare them to their official LEGO counterparts, so here is the first COMPARISON REVIEW!!! VS Base plates This is definitely the most noticeable difference in terms of quality. The Brick plate is a much brighter yellow and because of it doesn't look at nice as the LEGO. The picture however is poor so this may not be evident. The mini-figures suffer from rigid joints but unless you're playing them then it doesn't really matter. The biggest annoyance is their hands fall out easily when positioning weapons in them. Imperial Guard Commander The arms appear as a brighter shade of red. This may pose problems in close-up shots however in large MOCs the mini-figure could well be suited to a dark shady background position. Pirate The torso design is slightly different but it's not really that noticeable. Parrot The Brick parrot has a different pattern so in fact this could be used along side the genuine LEGO parrot for some variation. Treasure The Brick treasure appears more gold in colour rendering the genuine LEGO treasure to appear more platinum or perhaps even silver. Combined in Chest When mixed together however you can't really tell the difference. Shovel There is a noticeable colour difference between the shovels. The Brick shovel is closer to the new "light stone" LEGO colour. As The LEGO Group no longer produces the original shade of grey this is probably the colour they'd have to produce the shovel. I don't think a bley shovel would work in a pirate set because it would look too metallic in a modern sense. Swords The Brick swords are actually nicer than the genuine LEGO swords as their chrome surface makes them appear much more interesting. Conclusion The Brick set is definitely not a substitute for the genuine LEGO set but it is definitely not as inferior as many claim. There is definitely a colour discrepancy between some of the pieces, but the LEGO Group has already forced such a discrepancy upon AFOLs by changing the shades of grey and brown. The same building principal applies to Brick pieces when combing them with genuine LEGO - they can work well in MOC just so long as builders use them strategically. The quality in some areas is below that of LEGO which may pose a problem for children who actively play with their LEGO. AFOLs on the other hand shouldn't have too many difficulties if they want to statically integrate the pieces into their MOCs. Until the LEGO Group starts producing new Pirate sets I'd recommend Brick sets as suitable part packs for MOCing.
  11. MOC #1 with 35 votes vs MOC #2 with 8 votes No further votes will count.
  12. Mr ImperialScouts has gone on an important mission to "Blackbeard's Inn" but he didn't say what he'd be doing there. Might as well leave the poll open until he returns - another day or two isn't going to hurt. Except the lads may go balmy from not knowing who has won. Well too bad!!!
  13. That soldier walking through the door way looks like a French ImperialScouts. X-D In the overhead shot if it weren't for the legs I couldn't tell that was his back.
  14. Cavalry tends to have longer ranged weapons and can move much faster due their equine assistants, so therefore I wouldn't be calling them "poor".
  15. Ok, lets continue the interview on topic... X-D What was your inspiration behind Cave of the Dead? Were you influenced by any forms of fiction?
  16. Maybe it would have worked better if you put the mini-figure's hand down by it's side because it looks like he's waving a stump in the air.
  17. Just to be blatantly off topic... What are studying?
  18. Yes, it must be done so I don't have to keep revamping the graphics! X-D Which program did you make that graphic in?
  19. What happened to his hand anyways?
  20. Hmmmmm... It does look more refined... But the only way to tell is to print them out and stick them on a torso so get to it X-D
  21. The coronel? X-D It depends if he named his ship after himself.
  22. Ok, I'll take your word for it. Surely you've had some sleep by now though.
  23. So this was Mr Woody's idea! And here I was thinking Bonaparte was sooooo clever :-P
  24. No! No! No! Don't thread, your master plan is safe, we've just revealed there's more to you than previously thought.
  25. My parents never took that much interest in what I build with LEGO. I was so neglected! :'-(
