  1. Yes the Islanders do look mighty Polynesian but geographically that doesn't work well with Pirates of the Caribbean. I have an explanation for this... The Islanders are descendants of the Empire of Hiva - it's the only explanation why can look Polynesian yet be located so close to the Caribbean.
  2. "Francey" as I like to call him (or as "El Draque" as my buddies preferred) still met his end at the hand of the Inquisition! That cannon ball out very own El Morro Castle shot into his ship's cabin was laced with dysentery, so we had the satisfaction of knowing he died very unpleasantly.
  3. Oh and another thing the recently knighted Col. Whipstick... Aren't the big green lizards technically alligators since they're indigenous to central America while crocodiles aren't?
  4. Eh? You're the one that's senial! It's a bit hard to wave a cutlass that's actually a ruler and type at the same time :-P
  5. These pictures will do fine. I was just wondering why you didn't take another picture at the time. When I do my photo shoots I take a dozen of everything just in case something isn't in focus to my liking. But that's just me X-D
  6. The honest truth is the Spanish were the first Europeans to arrive in Australia. We arrived on the north west coast and had a quick look only to discover this "Outback" you mentioned. Since New Spain was already a dust bowl we didn't need another in the southern hemisphere so the decision was to leave. After all, the might Inquisition had more important things to do like discover gold rather than waste timing settle in an inhospitable environment. But I said NO! This may turn out to be quite a fine land if we explore it a bit more. But they said NO we want gold and left me behind. So I stayed, explored and established a settlement. This is why people live in Australia to this very day. Of course those other nations will never admit to it so history is written very differently....
  7. I've got plenty of mini-figures but I seem to have misplaced my ruler X-D
  8. I be wonderin... If this picture is very blurry then how come you just didn't take another one from that angle?
  9. I've plonked a poll graphic into your thread so the first post gets a dramatic eye-catching lift!
  10. I've began reading through the comic but I don't think I'll get it finished this sitting. I've added a link to it on the Classic-Pirates.com Comic Page: http://www.classic-pirates.com/archive/comics/index.html
  11. Captain K, your HMS Leopard seems quite popular! How about I frontpage it on Classic-Pirates?
  12. NZ$7 is worth AU$6... So it's the same price...
  13. So what if nobody can be bothered providing information? X-D
  14. The upgraded Classic-Pirates.com has a New Users page which is to intended to introduce the Pirate Forum and Classic-Pirates.com to anyone that may have "surfed in". Check out the New Users page. What I'd like to do is compile a list of 5 to 10 threads which would generally appeal most to a new user. This is to encourage them to jump into the discussions faster. So far I've thought of: Which official Pirate Lego sets do you have? The Pirate LEGO Test Would you open a Mint in Seal Box SYSTEM Pirate LEGO set? How did you become a Pirate LEGO Fan? Tell us your story A-Z of Pirate LEGO creations to build But what other threads would generally appeal most new users?
  15. Yeah sure. I can easily create a table in HTML for that. Now all we need is some data!
  16. This is a good start Col. Whipstick but perhaps it would be easier to create the table in Excel if you have it. Then you could screen capture the table and save it as an image, or link the XLS file directly to the thread. Updating it in MS Paint will kill you in no time.
  17. Ahhhhhhhhh excellent! This is just what we need to launch our expedition. Now all the LEGO Group needs to do is release a large Treasure Galleon so I can resurrect the Treasure Fleet again. It'll be just like old times!
  18. How will your comparison table work Col. Whipstick? This could be a feature worth integrating into Classic-Pirates.com because it might work better in HTML and Javascript rather than in a forum.
  19. Captain K has seized the day! And Achu's headdress for the figurehead X-D
  20. Wouldn't it be awesome if there was a golden bird like that produced by The LEGO Group? Don't see it happening any time in the near future so I wonder if some spray paint would do the job?
  21. Mr The Brickster this MOC looks very exotic in that northern African sense, so you've done well to capture that atmosphere. What I think sets this apart from your other MOCs is you've veered from the "blocky" architecture by using some curves and angles. I recall several times in the past I've suggested that you add some curves to your design, well this time there is no need!
  22. Mr Corsair, how'd you come up with the name "Golden Falcon"? Is it because of the yellow bird figurehead?
  23. Arrrrrrrrr haaaaaaaaa! It's the Caribbean Clipper the way it should be! I always thought the Caribbean Clipper would look better with a second sail because the mast at the back seems a little excessive for just the rigging. I do believe a ship similar in appearance called the Ironram can be found on the final page of each of the books in the Ladybird Book Series...
  24. Now just you remember chicks come and go, but your LEGO collection will grow and grow! X-D
  25. The server was probably down at the time. I'm not happy with the ISP's reliability at the moment and if they don't improve ASAP I'll be forced to find someone else. But check again and it should work. The other advantage of also hosting the images on Classic-Pirates.com is the Google search engine can find your story. Yes, good point. I don't know why I had it in my head that this was a story. The link for comics would be: http://www.classic-pirates.com/archive/comics/index.html
