I haven't been keeping up with Castle lately so your observation is probably more accurate than my assumption. More female CMFs in historical roles isn't the issue; like @thewatchman stated, it's more they're "generic pirates" rather than exciting archetypes relevant to the genre. That said, I don't think the upcoming CMF is generic as this one finally is venturing outside the pony tail in the tricorn mould.

Aye, Pirate Girl from Series 20 and two recent Build A Minifigure pirates as well. Indeed, we may be facing fatigue; it's not that we don't want new female LEGO Pirate minifigures, but we'd prefer a greater variety of female archetypes from the pirates genre. Governor's daughter is an obvious choice and we should have had one by now. Courtesan is perhaps to risqué for LEGO, but innkeepers and market vendors were quite common. Meanwhile, the LEGO Group is probably quaking in their boots for fear of reinforcing traditional gender stereotypes, even from a historical period in which they were more strongly enforced. So I'll inject a little creativity will put forth, harbour mistress - in charge of the entire harbour!

Thank ye, I did read that source which states: "However, LEGO has now announced the actual EOL date for the individual parts as December 3rd." So more precisely; my question is: where did the The LEGO Group state that? And I specifically mean via their official communication channels (E.g. LEGO.com, the official LEGO Instagram account, etc.), not on an AFOL site or profile.

A cockatoo? Interesting choice of avid for a pirate but will make a compelling backstory.

I felt that way about the 2015 wave of pirate sets. There weren't any new concepts or significant innovations... they were designs similar what we'd seen before, only executed using contemporary building techniques. Really it's about playing it safe and doing what worked well in the past, hoping to achieve the widest appeal. That's probably enough for the casual consumer, but us long term fans want to sail into uncharted waters.

Next year is very optimistic! Going by your own 3 year estimate you shouldn't anticipate another Pirate Icons release until 2026, given that Eldorado Fortress was released during 2023, and Barracuda Bay during 2020.

Well done! You've successfully created a MOC in less than 90 with around 50 part minutes which was the intent for the small building entries. Too bad the contest is over! So now you've left us on a cliffhanger - but is that a rhetorical conclusion or should we expect to see further adventures for Steve?

T'would be interesting to see the type of forts you're envisioning... Forts generally aren't tall structures because that makes them easy targets prone to collapsing. But I'm yet to find one located in/near that Caribbean that looks similar to Cannon Cove. At the expense of digressing from the topic here be some real forts.... As a temporary measure, I've increased your attachment limit. But like @Yperio_Bricks mentioned, you're better off hosting your images externally - Flickr is good because you can also share images with the Classic Pirates Flickr Group and get some additional mileage out of them.

So now we're left wondering... Does Steve manage to steal any rum? We see him approach the entrance but does he get past the sentry?
