  1. Maybe it is the balista that shot that or it could be a feather ended javelin. Very nice!
  2. It was released late and ended up coming out in January of 2005. So by a fluke yes it was. I recommend the game to anyone into scifi, long table top strategy games or playing with little plastic ships that are used to battle everyone elses little ships. It is expensive though. I have played many games and I must say that when you get it though you are getting quality stuff and a lot of it.
  3. Happy birthday to you both! Hopefully you are getting a few boxes of the good stuff. Enjoy your special day.
  4. This is a question for everyone who got one. Is Xbox360 worth the $400-$600? I am a big fan of Nintendo myself and I have always been into multiplayer games like Mariokart and Super Smash Bros. I have talked to people who used to have Xbox night where a buch of people would get together and play. After Xbox live came out they all switched to that and play at home with headsets. It took away some of the fun they said and I wanted to know if it is the same for Xbox360. Also are the games worth getting the system for? I have heard about a big RPG coming out but I wouldn't have time for that and I personally think Halo sucks so if you don't count those games will Xbox360 be worth having? Thanks!
  5. Do board games count as toys? If so I nominate Twilight Imperium 3rd edition. If they don't count I nominate the Darth Vader voice changer helmet.
  6. Based on name and I would say location your army seems from the amazon or something. You could try brown/tan/green. This is hard to pull off but might be worth a try. I would personally go brown or green, black, yellow and trans clear for windscreens. For small atmospheric fighters I would use the clear Borhok parts with the streaking in brown or green for windscreens. More black parts are made than any other color so that would help in having a good variety of parts to choose from for building. Yellow for a touch of brightness, weapons or greebs. I might also go with brown tops and black bottoms/wings/engines. For the army itself you could get some green UFO figures that could due nicely or if you have some Rascus figures switch out to a space helmet and give them some black lasers. Good luck on all of your 22 designs. I think you will get bored of it long before you finish them all so I recommend either saving the ones you want to do most until last or just doing one from each class and then see how it looks.

    pod family

Beautiful Sne! :) I would interested in seeing your black pod and it's functions.
  8. Rock raiders are awesome! :oD You have made an excellent MOC using such a cool theme. I like the blades the best. I can picture them shattering rock. Your MOC fits very true to the theme of RR. This could almost be a LEGO set. If it were though I think you would need to change a few things. The second cockpit would be elevated and placed back and above the first, possibly backwards. You would be able to use either two lasers or two drills side by side but not both. I would install the lasers on retractable armsarms that come out from the side that would have a range of about 200 degrees. Why are the drills on the back?
  9. I really don't mind the proportions at all. No part of him is really too thin and the head lloks better than the standard bionicle fair.
  10. It doesn't have the polish your newer MOCs do but I can see the evolution of your building with this one. A little too yellow maybe but still very nice. Perhaps you could do a redo of this and make him up propper with everything you have learned since then?
  11. I am not sure but I think it is something more commonly said in the south of the US more than anywhere else. It isn't exactly slang. For example in Texas you don't ask for Mountain Dew or Rootbeer. You ask for a Coke. They will then ask you what kind of Coke you want and you would say a Mountain Dew Coke. Texans have replaced the word soda with the word Coke. Many people do this with products they are familiar with. Bandages are often referred to as Band-Aids after the popular brand, Kleenex = facial tissue, LEGOs = any plastic building block, and so on. It happens with common words such as of and have. To most people it makes no sense but for some it is an acceptable replacement. One odd tidbit, In Texas and surrounding areas the say Coke, in most of the US they say soda, but in the north where I am from we say pop. Some have said it is a reference to a old popular brand of soda that either had the word pop in it's name or when opened it made a *pop* sound. Even odder is that down in the south people tend to slur there words. Instead of "Did you eat yet?" it comes out as "Geet yet?". They also use words like Ya'll which is for you all, or properly all of you. The US has many slang words and local sayings too. The differ generally by location. Northern English speakers tend to speak faster and more properly with somewhat strong northern European accents. Southern English speakers speak slower and are more influenced by Spanish and French. Of course the country is wide so different areas don't speak in the same way. New England are is different from the midwest and people in California speak different than those in Florida. I was writing this too quickly before. There are many errors in this. :()
  12. Not that any of you teens will listen but don't ever tell your parents off. They pay for you food and take care of nearly every need you have and have done so for over ten years. If you want to make a point rationally bring them to brickshelf or Eurobricks and show them intelligently why LEGO model building stimulates the brain, encourages creativity/imagination and will aid in future development. Ask them without sarcasm if they would rather you go out and get involved in a sex and drug filled lifestyle instead of building with LEGO. Remind them that over 50% of adult LEGO builders are college graduates (or current attendees) and that many go into highly technical fields like computer science or engineering. Show them the intelligent conversations people discuss in threads and how the LEGO community helps each other out. Also, inform them politely that not only does LEGO improve ones mind but be participating in the forums you will learn positive world skills, manners and establish connections with people all over the world. By rubbing shoulders with older and better educated people any young person on this forum can learn better English and communication skills. Do yourself a favor and pay respect to your parents who do not deserve such rude or angry comments as have been mentioned in this thread already. One day you will understand as a parent what I mean. Your parents are people and more they have proven that they care about and provide for you. LEGO is expensive and if you have any then obviously they have given you more than you deserve by talking to them or even threatening to talk to them in such a manner. Please show your maturity and with intelligence inform your parents of the great values the LEGO hobby can have. If you can read this Darth Ewok please share these things with your parents. I myself don't have children but working with teens weekly in the last five years I understand them well enough to know they don't always know the right way to go about speaking with adults. Treat other people the way you want to be treated! That means unless you want people to not listen to you and tell you to _______(insert vulgar phrase of choice) don't do it yourself. Help them to understand where you are coming from and the benefit of your decisions. Your parents have the right to get rid of the cable television, internet, computer and anything else they paid for. They have the right to not help you with car insurance or loans and to not even show up or help with your wedding. Treat them like garbage and see where it gets you in life. You may feel you have a right to do a lot of things but they also have the right to even more. Show some respect.
  13. I like the torso printing. *wub* *wub* The plamo hands always break though. *wacko* Eurobricks should change it's name to Euromobil! ;)
  14. I hope not. I prefer the lighter colors. Freeze doesn't need any black parts. They just don't fit. You two behave! |:| ;)
  15. To Windsor you must go, to Windsor you must go, hi ho the dairy-o, to Windsor you must go. If you do end up going PM me as I would like a favor.
  16. This one -clickit This one -duplo This one -system This one -scala Clickit could work. I really like the duplo one but it may be hard to attach properly. These are classic and easy to find. A red or dark pink would look best I think. The scala flowers are harder to find but are by far the best. They are small though. Instead of a green stem use a brown one.
  17. The two rear canons are too large to be seated there. They would be very hard to load and would possible tip the boat causing an unlucky mate to be tossed over board. You may want to design smaller canons for the back or at least move them back a little so they can be loaded. I think you should switch the owl in front for a pink or red flower.
  18. No intelligent general would ever attack a castle without at least 3 to 4 times the number of men than the defender. That would be stupid. Seiging a castle like this would require living off of the same land that stocked the castle with food. Attackers would use up the land around them to provide provisions for themselves. They would burn up all of the trees for fuel, empty villages and towns of their food stores and kill any male threat not located within the castle. Near the castle itself only the rear water door and the front bridge would need a larger group to cut of supplies. Food stores in any castle would most likely not last a year. Seiging is a long proccess unless you wish to lose many men. The castle itself is the only strong defense. Archers will keep attackers away from the moat and bridge but would do nothing against trebs or catapults which would be hurrling rocks and/or fire over the walls non-stop. Under the barrage of only 2 or 3 such machines the attacker could begin digging trenches to drain the moat which would bottleneck the defenders into the only exit which is the bridge. Draining the moat would also cut off much of the needed water. After a few months of such attacks the defender would most likely surrender but if not they would be forced to meet the attacker outside of the castle in an attempt to lift the seige. Which unless they very blessed would most likely fail. You are right in that allies would change such an outcome. A seiging army could never surround a castle and fight back and attack from the outside. As soon as the attacker was ingaged the castle defenders would sally forth and drive a line to allow additional supplies to enter the castle. That is why you defeat the ally first or bribe him. If it were so difficult to seige such a castle why were so many castles overthrown in this period of time? The best method of seige historically is starvation. Once supply lines are destroyed it is usually only a matter of time before complete surrender or death. Outside forces can change the outcome but a good general will have dealt with any such threat before attempting a seige. Regardless, once canons show up not this castle or any other will withstand seige. Just another example why realism in toys is just not as much fun. With fantasy I can overthrow an evil tyrannt with one giant and the knights. Real life war and castles have never been made by LEGO. I prefer that line of thinking myself. Life and people are bad enough, the toys I build with shouldn't have to be.

I lurked from November 04 to March 05 and then joined in March. I wanted to check out the site before I joined. Now I wish I had joined sooner. Though I probably would have argued too much with David. :|
  20. Actually it would be quite easy to seige. Being surrounded by water an army would only have to surround it a varied points and prevent supply shipments from entering the castle. Thus starving the men inside which is actually the easiest and most effective seige tactics. As an added bonus while the men are bottled in the castle a small force could be sent into the countryside to burn, rape and pilage the peasantry. It is much harded to seige a castle built high on a hill. Which is why so many castles were built on them.
  21. I pay $1 or less for bulk figures. How can $6 per figure be good? Dozens of people got hundreds of those clones for free after walmart had a special promotion. That my friend is a good deal. ;)
  22. I prefer the LEGO fanatsy type castles to this type of building. It is large and impressive but it is too real to life to be all that interesting for me. The exception to this are the cathedrals you see at the RLSteine events. The Gothic look is much more interesting. I do want to point out though this is a very good build and detail is fairly high.
  23. Welcome to Eurobricks! Everyone is saying you are an artist. Post something so we can get an idea of your art.
  24. Wow, Grevious and Crispen you two have way to much free time to post all of these huge replies. Why don't you spend more time building or better yet go outside and get some fresh air? Why would anyone want to read all this when they can just look at a picture and get as much detail? Not that I don't advocate reading mind you.
