The TRU nearest to me is closing. The sale is 10%-30%. LEGO and most of the good toys are only at 10% off. Not even a sale price. I will wait to buy at 50% off or more. Kind of sad for me. No more exclusive stuff like Vikings or the KK double packs. :'( The upside is that they got in a decent amount of Exo Force just before Christmas. So I should be able to get some good stuff at a nice price.

Anyone recognize where this face is from...?
SuvieD replied to Starwars4J's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I would say a custom Venom Spidey's arch enemy. LEGO has not made a head like that yet. Though if he is in the next film you can bet your bottom there will be one. -
I am sad. I knew the sets would have flesh colored minifigures but until I saw pictures it didn't really sink in. Flesh color figure are still so stupid non-LEGO looking. I will get most of the sets keep the parts from the figures I like and trade off the rest. :'( At first I thought the batmask was too glossy to be the actual final part. It is obviously plastic and not the rubbery stuff LEGO is using in exoforce. I think Bloody Jay is right in thinking the mask is a visor. I hope they mold a smaller head piece for Batman Beyond though the batsuits were always no neck monsters so I think it works for these figures but the sleek and slender Beyond suit would be ridiculous looking. I like Robin and Nightwing minus the heads, the hair from Two-Face and Joker, the new stick Scarecrow is holding and the tommy guns (though I will use them for space lasers instead). I really like the Scarecrow, Killer Croc and Mister Freeze figures and will keep those. The rest I don't care about and will be trading them right off. I am not a fan of the Bat really so I am not really excited about any of the vehicles except the purple motorcycle. I will get a few of those if I can. The black dragon wings I will also keep or get off of BL. If you are looking to get many of the figures let me know in a PM and I will trade you the ones I don't want for sure.

NEW RCX BRICK
SuvieD replied to languages's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That video is amazing. I am not into robots at all but after seeing that I might want to be. Very cool and a good find Miktor -
Bionicle is the natural evoultion of the throwbots which were the adopted technic child. Technic being a part of the LEGO system or "family" since the 70's technically. ;) Bionicle is like a cousin or step brother. To some it is unwanted and to other warmly welcomed into the fold. I dislike the sets based on forced action figure moves. I hate (yes, hate) that my figure has gears inside it just so it can swing a sword thereby limiting the natural movement of the arm. I also dislike the fact that LEGO does not design sets with a "system" of sorts in mind. Parts like the majority of the Rakashi feel inferior in quality and are by far the worst quality color control I have seen in any LEGO product. I don't mind a slight variance in shade at all but the semi-transparent pink feet for the red Rakashi was too much for me. So for my own sake I will list the pros and cons for Bionicle. Pros: -unmatched posability in LEGO and in many cases any toy figure -unique biomechanical look -fun to pose/play with -financial + for TLG -can be used with technic and/or a technic base with system parts added -huge variety in parts and colors not common to LEGO policy toward system sets Cons: -poorer quality color or parts -to few or no connection points to use with system or technic -forced action moves/ limited posability -stale storylines/ characters (though it may be improving) -not made with MOCers in mind (which I had never known LEGO had said until now but I could have told you anyway.) Thus my conclusion. Bionicle is a wonderful opportunity for LEGO to place a competitive product into the hands of youngsters that will further promote the LEGO brand name and inspire creativity and building versus mind numbing in front of a TV. It is also a downfall as there are no steps to ensure long time fans or use of many of the sets/parts and has failed to produce parts with the intent of bridging the system or technic builders to itself. On the whole bionicle is needed for more than one reason. Yet, as long as LEGO continues to make single use pieces, not make more useful parts to bridge the gap between it's other products and alienates the builders who get bionicle for something other than a collectible or action figure it will still be a second or third rate product to the ever expanding well tested and creativity filled system/technic LEGO products.

wanted 2000+ 1x2 redish brown bricks
SuvieD replied to roj2323's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
You could go with the 1x2 log brick. There are three sellers with 2000+ of those in the new brown. You can hope LEGO puts them out in PaB but as i have heard the new brown isn't available in PaB yet. -
Happy Birthday! Hope you got some great new sets.

I like the clawed hands and feet. The color scheme is great and very "phantom" like. The overall thinkness of the legs and arms looks good and even the waist isn't that bad though a little too thin. The shoulder parts just don't look right to me. I would drop those and add a jet pack or wings. Based on personal preference of course.

"You three, run to the Wolfpack tower. Get Lord Lupis. Tell him to release the pack. The kings men are coming." I will not let you stop this merry party! If I get a chance I will picture my Wolfpack also.

I think TT will have to continually triple post, insult other admins and start stealing images of other peoples work before it gets ban time. Hey, where did you say you got that "nice" picture? If I recall . . . ;)

Pictures of UPCOMING Knights Kingdom 2 Year 3 Action Figures
SuvieD replied to sam89's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I will get it anyway. I never keep the sets built as they are supposed to be and I am sure that other than the 10 (yes count them) large castle parts this set is made up mostly of bricks, slopes and arches. It has to have something near 275 pieces. After you factor out all the figures, accessories and the saw launcher it is down to something like 200. Which means one out of twenty is a <insert that tiresome argument> part. The stickers are annoying to no end though. -
Why is everyone so concerned with the Spanish. They are beaten by the weather. I thought this was about LEGO bricks? Anyway, in a few centuries Spanish power will have crumbled and The Beatles will begin taking over the world peacefully.

The nasal avenger is one of the coolest ships ever made. I also like captain Ahnee comics and the comic about 3vil blowing up a Krispy Kreme donut store is hilarious. The big ships are just big to me. I like the funny stuff better.

I am so getting both of those sets. Bionicle- posable figures in awesome colors new weapons awesome parts KK sweet Knights golden armor new dragon head color

It is okay but a sword is for slicing and cutting. You have the shadow knights being shredded apart like they hit with grape shot at under ten feet. Consider toning down the mortal combat exaguration. As far as the intro to a story all I see is a hero (I am guessing he is a hero as he does nothing heroic) runs into the enemy soldiers, turns them into lunchmeat and the runs toward the castle of an evil wizard. Maybe you should consider adding something of a plot or a little extra outside of the mass violence and dark sorcery bit. I like the lightning special effects. The sword is nice.

Here are the questions: In which country do you live? USA Which education did you choose? Why? I am still choosing. I will be attending university now six years after finishing the 12th grade. My plan is to get a major in secondary education and a minor in business. I waited because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and then for a while could not afford to go. Did someone force you to take this education? If yes, who did it? No, most of my family is not educated beyond 12th grade. What expectations did your friends and/or family have about your education? About grades? I was expected to pass and get above C grades. Everyone knew I could get straight A's but I did not want to. Did the above somehow affected your education? Possibly, if my family or friends had pushed me to be more competitive, I would have finished at the university by now. Whether I would have a good job or could use that education is a different matter.

Matt, it looks like a missile fin :oD ;) *yoda* That is what it is. The repair bots are in continual flight when activated. I am trying to decide what colors I will stick with. I have black fins also and may use those. I don't want the robots to look like the human forces. Yellow isn't in either side so I thought it would work well.

In the battle for Sentai Mountain are the brave humans and the fearless robots. Each with it's own agenda. Each having machines of war! The Human Resistance The Robotic Aggressors Which will be able to win, you decide? The humans can't exist with only heroes. So I added in some instructors, a mechanics, maintainance workers, and a little variety to the other figures. I added in quite a few females which is something the series lacks all together and tried to use heads that were somewhat anime in appearance. I think it worked well. No change to the robots. I made some repair droids so that they can fly in and repeair the mecha and vehicles while the standard robots continued in battle. I am not sure if this is the final look for them but it is a good start. Let me know what you think.

Behold the merry men (and women) of Brickwood Forest. Forestmen A score of men are not outfitted in full Lincoln green yet and haven't yet recieved arms (weapons that is). They are new recruits and it will take a while before I make the time to get them ready. When all said and done i should have about 75 or so.

To bad it never works out like that. Good capture of what is going on in the scene. I think I would have used a slightly taller stone building instead but it works well enough as is.
