Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces (Community story build) Cha
Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Gex, Thank you for your response. I do believe we have all the ingredients needed already being gathered, however I also do believe that Merith may need a hand with "Retracing Our Steps" and Farouk sounds like he would be perfect for the task. If you already have sent someone to help Merith and Farouk is just itching for a task, I have yet to set up an alchemy lab where to mix the ingredients after they have been gathered. It would be of great help to me if he were to set one up for me in a suitable location within Cedrica with quality apparatus. For the peace of Historica, Masa of Kaliphlin -

That is one thing we lack here in the US... the large ferry lines such as Viking and Silja. Here the ferries are much smaller. All this talk here is making me want to go back and visit... -

There is the GFLUG about an hour from me but I got no response back from them. Maybe I will try again.... -
Great idea for an ingredient! I like the opposing forces coming from opposite directions to try and retrieve the ingredient first. Also as far as the build, it was a great touch to have water sunken into the grassy area.

Good idea, I actually had thought of that but then as I've been busy of late, it totally slipped my mind when I posted. Deadline is 30 days from today and once you figure out what your ingredient will be, please mention it in this thread. -

Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces Chapter 1 Part 3

I had started making a list but then I decided it would give you more creative freedom to come up with the ingredient you are to find yourself. So you basically make up the ingredient to find. -

Part 2 and Part 3 are now posted. -
When Masa and Lasvor arrived in Cedrica all the other heroes of Historica had already arrived so they all gathered at Masa's temporary headquarters in Cedrica. This was merely a few rented rooms in the nicer part of the city that had not been damaged during the Revolword War. Masa was impressed by all who had volunteered. "It is with much gratitude I now speak to you," Masa began. "Especially to our brothers from the north, whose number of volunteers for this quest is astounding. Thankfully with having so many volunteers, now instead of each of you having to search for two or three ingredients, you each will only have to search for one." And so Masa revealed to the waiting heroes the list of ingredients needed to make the potion of the Kiss of Life. Out of Character I had thought to make a list for which to assign to each of the volunteers but upon further consideration I thought it would be best to leave more freedom for your creativity. I made a sample MOC of searching for an ingredient in Part 2 to give you somewhat of an idea of what to build. I'm hoping you will be creative here and build some exciting and unexpected MOCs. I'm hoping to see originality, quality and creativity over size. Happy adventuring and building! Deadline is September 21. Also when you have decided what ingredient you are going to build please let us know here in this thread just as to avoid duplicate ingredients.

Masa was nearly ready to start out for Cedrica when he had another visitor. It was quite a surprise for Masa to see an older Mitgardian gentleman standing at the entrance of his tent. "Greetings," Masa said. The old man looked him over from head to toe. "You must be Masa." "Indeed I am," Masa replied. The old man pulled out one of the letters Masa had sent out to the four Guilds of Historica. "My name is Lasvor Nirhad and I'm here to help you in your search for the ingredients." "How on earth did you find me here?" Masa asked. "The letter says to meet me in Cedrica." "I'm a MItgardian so finding you was no trouble at all" the old man stated. "We all are expert trackers. However books and letters have never been one of my strong points," he added a bit sheepishly. "No matter," Masa told him. "It will be good to have a companion for the road and as I plan to collect one of the ingredients on my way, an extra pair of eyes will make it quicker." As the old man was tired from his travel to find Masa, the two decided to wait for the next morning to set out. The path they took was straightforward for as soon as they had reached Queenscross, the northern road led straight to Cedrica. However before they arrived in Cedrica, Masa hired a boat to take them across the great lake to the other side near the Kaliphlin/Nocturnus border. Masa explained to Lasvor that the ingredient he was looking for was a cursed pumpkin and that he hoped to find one in the cursed land along the Kaliphlin/Nocturnus border. After they had gone ashore, they pushed their way through the countryside and soon came upon a pumpkin field. And just as Masa had hoped, they soon spotted the object of their search. WIth one of the ingredients for the potion found, the two made their way to Cedrica to meet the others. [Click here for part 3]

Ok the participants have arrived! Chapter 1 Part 2 will be up shortly. -
Nice build and story! What really stands out to me in this build are the rocks. Nicely done!

This build is epic!

Same here! Nice LDD build though!

This is brilliant! Even though its not your biggest or grandest, this may be my favorite build of yours yet.

Nice micro! My only suggestion would be to have the ground inside the city level with the tops of the cliffs outside the city. Other than that I totally can picture this in minifig size.
