Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Mike S replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hmmm I just thought of another question. Suppose (this is just hypothetical as I'm not changing guilds and I don't want any other guild's shield) I was a tag freak and wanted to collect shields from every guild. If I moved around from guild to guild for each chapter would I have a chance to get other guild's shields? Or is the chance to reset only this once and not for the other chapters? -
Great entry! A lot of awesome details, especially the waterfall!

Excelent last minute entry! The whole build is great but I especially like the scaffolding!

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread

Thanks for the update! Sounds good to me. But I do have one question. What happens should everyone in a guild choose to be on the same side? Do the other participating members of the other guilds automatically get asigned to the opposition to balance things out? -
Looks great! I really like your ground effect... and the statue is great as well!

Nah, I bet he will read this in a few hours.... -
Well given another month I could probably enter a portion of my Kaliphlin wip. Not sure that would be fare for those that have already built their entries though....

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

I wonder when Si-MOCs will check up on Kaliphlin and give us his thoughts... -
Exactly what I was thinking. I've noticed that you have been building quite a bit lately. While it may seem like a good idea now to build a lot of MOCs, I'm sure it would give you more satisfaction in the long run if you focussed on one MOC until you perfected it rather than rushing a bunch of MOCs. I think you have a lot of good ideas but you just need to focus more on how to improve each of your MOCs before you post them. I had the same problem when I started here, trying to catch up with all the other great builders, I felt compelled to rush build and nearly every build I rushed with could have really been improved if I had taken some time to ask myself what I could do to improve the MOC. Now when I build, I try and take my time, sometimes waiting a few days and looking at my MOC from a fresh perspective and usually I find at least one way to make improvements. Don't be afraid to experement with different pieces for the same use. You might be surprised at how some pieces you never would have thought to have looked good for a certain use actually do.

Wealth may not be any better deciding factor as I'm not sure all characters are wealthy either. I still think that Kaliphlin members who wish to join the council should represent a city/town. If ruling a city doesn't fit their main character, they can always use another character. And if two members want to rule the same pre-set city such as Barqa, etc, they could have a MOC-off to see who gets to claim rulership of the city. -
Nice build and addition to the story!

Nice build! The tree design is awesome!

Some great ideas but I would add that in order to be on the council, the character must be a ruler of one of Kaliphlin's cities/towns. DaMaximus' character would be Lord of Mpya Stedor, Ska's Lord of Eastgate, etc, etc. If a member character isn't currently the ruler of a city, they can always adopt a city to "rule". This way a majority of Kaliphlin locations can be represented in the council. -

His credentials: "1. Mummy said I was the best builder in the world! 2.If you don't help me become king I'll tell Mummy!" Not sure what the Father is dead is though... -

Same here. We Kaliphlins seem to thrive on trade, not war. And I really can't imagine any of us taking the side of the Desert King... -

Thanks guys! I'm going to try to find some time for an intro Ska's and my Kaliphlin collaborative story, so that we can get some activity back here int the Kaliphlin thread. -

This should be interesting to watch. Masa suggests that Avalonia hold a jousting event to determine its next ruler and invite warriors from the other guilds as oponents. That way they can be sure that their new ruler is strong enough for the defense of Avalonia. -
Awesome looking roof technique!

Ladies and gentlemen of Kaliphlin, Do not worry about my absence for I be building what I think will become a popular destination in Kaliphlin. The building is quite slow so it will probably be towards the end of the year by the time I'm finished. I have a few smaller builds planned however for Ska's and my Kaliphlin collaborative. LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Mike S replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Barbarian: Looks like a cross between jungle boy and gladiator. I will be getting at least 1 Scarecrow: Nice usage for the Lone Ranger crow. Will be getting 1 Bavarian Lady: Perhaps my favorite fig of this bunch. Might get 3 or 4 Evil Mech: Cool design but still not interested. Getting 0 Tiki Warrior: Looks a bit more evil than I expected. Will get at least 1 Gingerbread Man: Head looks a bit wierd. Still I will get 1 Holiday Elf: Face reminds me of the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Only thing here I'm really liking is the hat with ears. Getting 1 Yeti: Would have bought one if the head was like the cyclops. Since its not I might get one but I'm not decided. Welder: Even though I'm not a city fan, this is a must have. Getting 1 Constable: Nice. Getting 1 Jazz Musician: Another great fig. Getting 1 Scientist: Not interested other than the blue hands. Mountain Climber: could have been great if LEGO hadn't cheated with the ice pick. Should be called Mountain Miner. Getting 0 Diner Waitress: The color really is not attractive, neither do I like the face. Grandma: Not what I was expecting. I don't like the new cat mold. Getting 0 Lady Robot: Quite possibly the most pointless CMF of any series. Getting 0 -
Nice continuation of the story and depiction of the characters swimming!
