Thanks for the comments! I've got several other tree/shrub designs in the works but most of them are quite simple and probably won't need a tutorial.

After my Island of Gorr build in Guilds of Historica, some showed interest in how I put the palms together. So I finally found some time to show you how to grow a Masa Palm. Masa Palm by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr You will need the following pieces: Masa Palm Parts by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 1: You need a solid foundation for the palm to grow roots. Masa Palm Step 1 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 2: Determine how tall you wish your Masa Palm to grow and add the trunk to the foundation. Masa Palm Step 2 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 3: I think the pictures are self explanatory Masa Palm Step 3 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Masa Palm Step 3 Complete by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 4: Attach the palm piece you put together in Step 3 to the palm trunk. Masa Palm Step 4 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 5: Attach palm leaves to parallel sides of the 6x5 plant leaves piece. Masa Palm Step 5 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Masa Palm Step 5 Complete by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 6: Attach another palm leaf to the "jousting" pole. Masa Palm Step 6 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 7: Attach more leaves. This can be tricky as you are wedging the leaf connection stem into place. Masa Palm Step 7 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Masa Palm Step 7 Complete by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 8: Just like step 5 but only one to attach here on the longest point of the 6x5 plant leaves piece. Masa Palm Step 8 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Step 9: Attach the remaining 3 palm leaves to the underside connections of the 3 corners of the 6x5 plant leaves piece. Masa Palm Step 9 by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr Also here is a picture showing the connection points on the 6x5 plant leaves piece. Masa Palm Connection Points by Masa of Kaliphlin, on Flickr If you liked this design, be sure to check out Guilds of Historica as there are a lot of great techniques and builds posted there instead of the regular Historic Forum.

Actually, I it was mostly Avalonian's voicing this opinion Avalonia has mod power. How can that fail? -
Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces (Community story build) Cha

Once you know the ingredients you must find (which I will inform you further in my next MOC), you will have a month to post your MOC. However if everyone gets their MOC done and posted earlier, we will start the next segment of the storyline earlier. -

Funny story! Also nice use of the clear bricks to use as the border to "contain" the sea. -

Didn't understand at the time when I posted there that it was one of several choices, I thought it was sign-up for the whole community effort... Dragonfire, on 08 August 2013 - 06:13 AM, said: Can I sign up for this if I have already signed up for Masa's quest? The Answer: It is totally acceptable for you to participate in more than one of these storylines. In fact you could sign up for all 3 if you know you have the time to build for all three. The only thing I would like to remind you here especially in the "retracing the steps" story line, is that once you get a quest, we will be depending on your MOC to continue the story. So I will also add if you signed up for the "collecting the pieces" quest and have time to participate in only one quest but upon reading one of the other two storylines, you prefer to switch, this is totally acceptable as well. Just be sure to let me know. On a side note, I have got everyone's hero minifigs completed but still haven't had time to photograph the second group yet. -

Posted 17 April 2013 - 03:35 PM "Switching guilds is not prohibited, but it is somewhat frowned upon. If you have not competed in more than one challenge for any one guild, I would guess the issue would be even less. In other words, you can switch if you really want to, but those who are highly affiliated with one guild may receive more backlash for switching." By ZC -
Excellent build for such a small scale! Even the first pic without the Photoshopping looks good!

Not sure if the AAG is united still either. I think even Legonardo was banished from Antyria.... -
Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Mike S replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
I propose for us to present a list of Kaliphlin members who we all would be confidant to represent Kaliphlin interests within the "core". Then the present "core" can pick from this list whomever they are the most comfortable with. Either this or the present "core" consulting our opinions on who they have in mind to represent Kaliphlin. -
Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Mike S replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
Concerning Avalonia, there really isn't anything we can do except talk. Concerning leadership of Kaliphlin, I think what is being considered leadership is a representative in the "core" who make decisions for chapter 2. Unless of course Kaliphlin wishes to waive its right to representation... -
Indeed Thanks SK for the challenge and I was sad I didn't have the time to participate.

Mike S replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Sounds like a plan if we had reason to destroy Avalonia.... Thing is we don't. Masa seeks only the peace for Avalonia and thus backs Antyria's wish of becoming a neutral state, a buffer zone between Avalonia and Kaliphlin. -

Raising the Dead – Collecting the Pieces (Community story build) Cha
Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Sorry I got Djun and Lukan mixed up. Lukan I have everything but the head. For Djun, I have the legs and helmet but in brown, missing the leg guards which is fine because he will be sitting but the head is substituted for sure and probably the torso as well. -

Mike S replied to Mike S's topic in Guilds of Historica
If I have any daylight left by the time I get home tonight, I'll try and get the second group photographed and uploaded although unfortunately I think both Djun and Lukan's heads will have to be substituted. Also not sure what torso Lukan has but if it is an older ninja, I will have to supplement that as well. -
Nice gardens! Good to see more Asian style builds.
