  1. Its a bummer to see you have to leave... but best of luck to you! If he is from where his country tag says he is from, then I don't think he really had a choice in the matter.
  2. Masa, for the side of men. Like the drow, those meddlesome dwarves can prove to be quite a nuisance. Although also like the drow there are a few good dwarves.
  3. Really nice build and photograhy, Behemoth! On the lighter side of things, even if you get negative comments, at least you know people are looking at your builds.... I think this post has one of the highest views and post counts for a build of this size. In fact, now that I think of it, none of my builds ever got 3 pages of comments....
  4. Nice layout! Really like how you made and set up the wine barrels. (We in Kaliphlin however may mistake them for black oil )
  5. A lot of builds in GoH of late! Not going to be able to comment on a lot of them so just want to say here, a lot of great builds!
  6. I really like the colors, curves, and levels you designed into this! Nice job on the tree too! It is really hard to make organic looking trees with Lego but you did a decent job with the few pieces you used. I still wish Lego would come up with a modular tree design.
  7. Nice mod! I like some of the ideas you incorporated. The rotating ticket gate and the parking spaces are nice touches! And the trees look good.
  8. Yeah, Lysus the Leander isn't Puss No Boots.... Lysus looks a bit more inteligent than Puss. Puss' is more like Mater from Cars. But now that you reminded me of him, I decided to use him for another small build that is in the works.
  9. Am I missing the Golden Masks and Leander band? If they survived, they will be sent to the next battle as well....
  10. Awesome build! Great to see Shadowmere starting to take shape in minifig scale! The blood fountain, execution square, shop, and armory are all great details that make the build come alive! Also awesome to see Masa's follower and the Leander represented as well as Beorthan of the Trifork. Always exciting to have some interaction coming together for builds.
  11. I would say that is way too much land for an isolated empire. I know some of those islands are inhabited but not sure which ones. One of the larger outer islands should work well for you though.
  12. Yes my first kid was what got me back into Lego. I hadn't been in a toy isle for years, but when my wife was pregnant with our first child we were looking at kid's stuff and I happened upon Atlantis sets discounted at 50% off. All of a sudden all my good memories of my Lego during childhood returned and I determined that Lego was a pasttime I would share with my son. Not only is Lego fun but it is educational as well and when my son gets old enough, I plan to introduce him to Lego robotics. Thank you all! @Kayne- Haha, I'll be carefull... Well, a lot of people don't realize what an educational and versatile medium Lego is. If an adult gives you too much trouble about liking Lego, just point them to Nathan Sawaya; heck even David Beckham has put a Lego set or two together in his adulthood. As for your map placement, while it may not be taken, I think I remember you wanting an isolated location for your orcs. If so, I don't think along the red river would be the most isolated of places with all the Avalonian/Kaliphlin merchants traveling the river between Eastgate and Avalonia... Other than that I would say it is a fine location...
  13. Well, as long as we have common interests (like Lego) that sort of "connects" us, I think the teen years should not be that bad. From my observations, the parents that have the trouble with their teen kids are the parents that have nothing in common with their kids. But like everything else, there are a lot of random factors involved, so one can only hope for the best. A lot of parents though dread the idea of having two kids in college at the same time...
  14. One of these days I can hopefully find the time to start a thread on the Aslanic Order. I've got stuff typed up and minifigs ready to photograph, just have to find time to organize it all into a proper post. Thank you! Glad you like it! Thanks! If the setting is right, I love reusing those palms.. Thanks! Yes that is a statue of Aslan, the god of the Aslanic faith. There are clearer pics of it in my Temple in Shadowmere build which I think you have already scene. But I will also have a row of similar ones on my Aden's Gate build below the waterfalls whenever I get that finished...
  15. Thanks! It actually is quite sturdy other than the base plates. Thanks! Thanks you and yes they are. Thanks! As always, the Aslanic faith was invited here, so these Nocturnians can't be that barbaric... Thanks! I've got this thing against "naked" baseplates so had to cover them up somehow... Thanks! Thank you! Thanks! The blue baseplates are not really part of the build but used to transport it to the place where I photograph. The orange baseplates are four 16x16's with only a couple 1x2 trans clear plates holding them together so they separate easy if I pick the build up. As I didn't have much time, I didn't remove them when I took the photo as I would have had to replace them to take the build back to the house. Thanks! I think undead are already in afterlife!
  16. Thanks for the congrats everyone! Sleep? The baby came at 2:22 in the morning so didn't get hardly any sleep yesterday. I thought I would get to sleep in a bit today and catch up but my 3 year old son wakes me up @ 7 this morning- "Time to wake up Daddy!" Nah, kids are a blast especially once they can communicate with you. However new baby is a girl so... Anyway, both my wife and I were actually hoping for a girl this time around (especially me since two kids is my limit and if it had been a boy I'm sure my wife would have wanted to try again for a girl)
  17. Baby came this morning so I'm out for at least the next two weeks and then from October on you probably won't see too much of me until the spring (I'll be online still, I just don't anticipate too much time for building), but if you let me know what to build now I can start mentally working out a build to put together sometime within the last two weeks of this month. I can then shelf it for the November 15th or whenever the Sandstorm is set for.
  18. Thanks! Of course you can use it for HSS! Thank you! Glad you like it! Thank you!
  19. While I agree with some of Mccoyed's comments, I would not do this: " I'd do one big infamous GoH build (pick your favorite) from Book 1 or 2 and then throw in some recognizable faces". What you want is a generic representation of the four guilds (possibly Varlyrio as well) like in Ecc's GoH banner add in his sig. Also I would not count this first banner as an entry. An entry would be a finished banner, not a prototype.
  20. Thanks man! Thanks! I wanted to use black but I actually could only find one black tile. Thanks! Thanks guys! I'm sure red would have looked better but unfortunately I don't have any other colors except green and I needed something to spice up the color besides red and black.
  21. The Aslanic Temple built in Shadowmere was quite small. In fact unlike the other temples where the priest's living quarters were quite smaller than the temple itself, the opposite was true here. The Temple was little more than a shrine, while Brother Able's residence was quite spacious in comparison. Brother Able, who also was unlike the other priests himself as he was an Inquisitor, did not expect to have a large following in a place largely inhabited by the dead. But since he had experience with both life and death, Bishop Jamon had sent him to Shadowmere to lend whatever assistance he could to Lord Vladivus and his people. Masa himself made an appearance a short time after the Temple was built and he met with Lord Vladivus to discuss common ground in dealing with the Black Spire. This build actually gave me quite a bit of trouble. I had big plans and then realized that I had next to no black pieces available. The stairs are made up of the black 4x4 plates from Kingdoms chess board. The rest are nearly all the black pieces that I had left. I hate leaving studs so the "naked" black plates left me perplexed for quite a while as I could only find one black 1x2 tile and a couple of other sizes but nothing that would nearly cover everything. So I had to settle for the dark trans tiles...
  22. Nice build! It reminds me a little of one of the buildings from Age of Empires which is a good thing because I loved that game. Also great little story to go along with it as well!
  23. Great idea! And excellent build as well!
  24. Great build as usual! That beak is fantastic and I like how you made the nest!
