1. I have to agree with both of you here. Even though 6242 was more expensive, keep in mind that 70410 & 70412 are meant to be combined to make a similar setup, so the cost is very similar. While the minifigs have radically improved, I think the 2015 fort is inferior.
2. Are you referring to 6241 Loot Island? If so, I'm curious as to your reasons. I never got any of the 2009 sets but comparing the two by photos, personally I think the 2015 Treasure Island trumps the 2009 Loot Island.
3. Along with Treasure Island, I also got the Soldiers Fort set. After building it, I'm not nearly as enthusiastic about this set as Treasure Island. While there are one or two nifty play features, there are also some parts of the build that could have been done better. I will explain further what I think could have been improved in my conclusion. Now on to the pics: The Box Contents Bag 1 Bag 2 Bag 3 Extra Pieces Minifigs All the figs are quite nice and have back printing on the torsos. The lady is an especially nice addition to the Pirates line and one of the highlights of the set. Conclusion The Pros: 1.The jail. Help the pirate break his matey out of jail! Haha, that wall wasn't as sturdy as it looked! 2. Possibly the best piece of the entire set... the Bluecoat Flag! The Cons: 1. The set has a working crane that looks great. While this should have been a nifty play feature, it doesn't work all that well and also is bulkier than it should be. While it hoists the treasure quite well, the treasure is not heavy enough to pull the rope down should you try to lower it. 2. The four pronged lantern piece that is mutually used as a lantern and tree piece only comes in black. While it works well with the lantern, I would have preferred it in brown for the tree. While it is not a bad set, I am a bit underwhelmed. However this set is meant to be combined with 70410 making the fort a bit bigger. Unfortunately I still think that the pirates' hideouts are far more appealing especially when combined. Meanwhile, my son, who is four, has been making good use of the jail, filling it with bad guys and misbehaving soldiers.
4. Thanks! Its awesome to get a response like this. The Order gladly welcomes these exemplary followers of the Aslanic faith and humbly accepts their gifts! If they stick around in Blackrock (formerly Aden's Gate) long enough, they should get a tour of the great tower. But right now it is still under construction even though the Bishop's room was finished early for him.
5. Nice build! I really like the bubbles in the swamp!
6. Treasure Island came in the mail today. My son and I put it together and I took pics as we progressed. I will let the pics speak for themselves. The Box Contents of box Bag 1 Bag 2 Minifigs The minifigs are great! All have backprinting on their torsos and lady pirate has double sided head showing battle expression and happy expression. The "skin" color on her chest and back is off just a tad bit but not nearly as noticeable as the Swashbuckler's torso from the collectable minifigures line. With the red torso, I wouldn't expect it to be any better. Extra Pieces Bonus Instructions Pic We put this set together in 15 minutes or so not including taking the pics. I really quite like the set and I have not a single complaint. The tree pulley to lift the skull is pretty clever. All in all the set is actually more refined in my opinion than most of the sets in the history of the Lego Pirates line.
7. Nice continuation of your story!
8. Excellent build and story!
9. That coat cart of many colors really made me smile. Maybe if IT IS ALL MINE(translated to English) wanted to avoid detection, he should use a less colorful cart.
10. Bricks and pieces.
11. Another suggestion would be to put all the cities in the same list and put (ruins) beside towns that no longer exist.
12. Due to emerging events, the Kaliphlin Council has been called to an emergency meeting in Petraea. I plan to put a MOC together showing the Council gathered. All members' figs in the following pic that do NOT want to be included, please let me know.
13. I see that Siedna has become more patriotic! Once I find some dark blue jumper plates she will be updated...
14. What??? All that work on Sultan's gate only to have to rebuild?!?! Things aren't looking so great for Kaliphlin!
15. The first pic is great! Really looks like a rough terrain! However this kind of build does suffer a bit with closer inspection with the impossible to fill gaps... but I think you did a pretty good job trying to fill them in!
16. Awesome! Good to see Shadowmere getting fleshed out more with more solid structures! That mini model is a nice touch!
17. Awesome wave, water and ice! Also nice teamwork on making the white ships resemble from Slegengr's build.
18. Nice build! I like that you include links to your previous chapters of the story... I can't believe there are so many already! I really like the third picture from the last, it really looks like a display model from that perspective.
19. Looks great! The only thing I would suggest would be to correspond the lettering of the map legend with its symbol in some way. If the numbering is green, perhaps maybe make the legend lettering green as well....either that or put the symbol next to the header of each column.
20. Thank you! Thanks! I'm working on more variety of plant life... Thanks so much! Thanks! The palm is a further adaptation of my Masa Palm... and easier to build... Thanks! Thank you!
21. Thanks! While a bishop no longer heads the Aslanic Order, Lord Kral, the Order's new leader, would be happy to arrange a meeting with the Holy Father. Thank you! Thanks so much! Thanks! Thanks! Lord Kral, Bishop Jamon's successor will do his best to be as revered as his predecesor. But that may prove a hard task as future events unfold in Kaliphlin. Thanks! Haha, Thanks! I was hoping this would be a surprise twist but it also had to be done as I was beginning to feel I had written myself into a boring, howbeit pleasant corner with the Bishop. I hope that some of the following twists I have planned in the Aslanic Order plotline will be just as surprising!
22. Nice build and continuation of your character's story!
23. This looks really cool! Freezing cool!
24. The city gates made me think there was some connection to Sir Glorfindel... Masa's spies may need to investigate further now that you mentioned that...
