  1. "Ah, I feel much better now! I'll attack the Pirate Raider from the front row."
  2. I don't mind, I'm having trouble getting it right as well as might see. I'm a little stressed at the moment as I'm trying to make sure that I got the rest of the quest prepared before I leave for x-mas tomorrow.
  3. Oh, sorry. I didn't noticed you fought from the back row, I'll fix it. Sir Leo is not in the battle while he raises the flag and will not take any free hits while doing so.
  4. If you flee you will fail the quest. Your objective is to defend the town and if you flee the enemy will quickly break through and invade Tanco, plunder and murder its citizens and destroy the Tomb of Miekhal Lightbringer.
  5. Results of Round Eight of Battle of Tanco The enemy advances to these positions: Ballista vs. D3 - Shield Cronk vs. Mercenary Cavalry W1 - Miss Elgar is stunned Mercenary Cavalry W2 - Free hit on Cronk Mercenary Cavalry V1 - Free hit on Elgar Mercenary Cavalry W3 - Free hit on Cronk Mercenary Cavalry V2 - Free hit on Elgar Blessed effect on Cronk - No heal Blessed effect on Elgar - Heal Sir Leo runs of as fast as he can down the stairs in the catapult tower to find the red flag. Tomas and Sir Glorfindel fires the ballista and hits Infantry company Y, taking out 60% of the reminders of the company. Cronk tries to finish of Cavalry W1 on the wall but misses, he then takes free hits from both W2 and W3, but since he is standing in the back row he has time to block the blows with his shield. Poor stunned Elgar is defenceless as Cavalry V1 and V2 hits him in the back row (8 damage), but the Righteous Light is with him and he is restored 3 health. Sir Leo comes running back up with the red flag just as the next round is about to begin. Two more enemies will appear on the wall next round, Mercenary Cavalry W4 and Mercenary Cavalry V3. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone has acted.
  6. Only those on the wall will receive the free hits. Unless they are all knocked out, then the ballista crew need to abandon the siege weapon and fight on the wall.
  7. Congratulations to the winners, particularly Skrytsson for the double champion win! I missed to vote, but you seemed to do fine anyway!
  8. "If you don't have any flag of your own, there is one down in the basement of the catapult tower." It will take one round to go get the flag and one more round to raise it on top of the highest tower. Please select who will do this and prepare for the next battle round. OoC: Ah, finally! I was worried I would have to rebuild the tavern on fire. And no, you don't have anything else that can be used as a flag (but you could have had one if you had searched places you have visited earlier).
  9. Cronk prays with great faith and turns his face towards the shining sun. When its rays hits the golden flags that are flying upon the battlements the party leader is surrounded by an even stronger shine then his blessing alone gives. It doesn't have any physical effect on the orc though, but he remains standing in the same position like he has seen something that can push his memory in the right place...
  10. The heroes in my quest should maybe think back on what they have learned during the quest. The answer might be there... But of course, if you want to burn down the tavern, go ahead! It might hit you back later on though.
  11. "Yes, there is one over at the town hall. But it's over at the town square, and you can't leave the wall. Besides, it's just a small bell, it won't be heard from far away." "No, Lord Kapriel and his cavalry took all the horses. We do have messenger birds, but surely sir, you know that they don't work that way? You can't tell the birds to fly to Lord Kapriel, they will fly back to their dovecote. We have some birds here that can fly to Eubric and Mermont and some other cities, but that's not where Lord Kapriel is. I think visual communications is the way to go. Why don't you use..." Then the archer took an arrow in his knee and fell down from the wall and broke his neck.
  12. "If you leave this wall undefended the enemy will surely overthrow us and plunder the town. The wall must be defended! I don't know about burning something, how will Lord Kapriel know that the fire means that we are in need of assistance?"
  13. Naawww! How will the heroes in Quest 14 even have the heart to kill the golden scorpion when they find it.
  14. "Uh, I think I will try and heal myself from the back row this round. I wouldn't like getting knocked out twice in a row."
  15. Results of Round Seven of Battle of Tanco The enemy advances to these positions: Ballista vs. F5 - Hit Cronk vs. Mercenary Cavalry W1 - Hit Sir Leo is stunned >Elgar vs. Mercenary Cavalry W1 - Special Damage Mercenary Cavalry W2 - Free hit on Cronk Mercenary Cavalry V1 - Free hit on Sir Leo Blessed effect on Cronk - No heal The ballista arrows flies exactly where it was aimed, but no enemies are found in that spot. Cronk steps up and hits Cavalry W1 for 25 damage, but the mercenary retaliates by stunning Elgar. Two more enemies appear on the wall and gets free hits on Cronk and Sir Leo. Two more enemies will appear on the wall ext round, Mercenary Cavalry W3 and Mercenary Cavalry V2. The enemy: On the battlefield Mercenary Infantry X Strength: 24/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Infantry Y Strength: 24/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Infantry Z Strength: 40/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Cavalry V Strength: 29/50 men Pace: 2 squares/round Mercenary Cavalry W Strength: 38/50 men Pace: 2 square/round On the wall: Mercenary Cavalry W1 Type: Humanoid Level: 8 Health: 10/35 Special: Massive Hit - The Mercenary's hit lands heavy on the hero, causing the stunned-effect. 16. I had a hard time choosing what option I agreed most with on the third question. I had answered "yes" on the second because I do feel that "Friends" is a bit too stereotypical. But I couldn't agree full out on any of the suggestions for how to solve that problem. I think small steps is the way to go if we want TLG to actually succeed in making LEGO a uni-sex toy (again). First, to have something to move towards we need something to start with and there I think "Friends" is just what we need. It's an improvement from previous girl-oriented themes in many ways and has room for more improvements. Secondly, we need both the boy-oriented and girl-oriented themes to move towards less extreme types. Right now I think we can divide LEGO's themes in "very boyish", "boyish", "neutral" and "very girly", e.g. Star Wars - Kingdoms - Creator - Friends. If we want LEGO gender neutral we need more gender neutral themes, the "extreme" themes don't need to go but there have to be more options for neutral and just slightly girly themes. Thirdly, this process is slow and we can't expect to see large changes immediately. But I do think it exist already. Look at how more and more female minifigs are being produced for example. I think TLG is very much aware of that "Friends" is stereotypical and that it is a problem, but that it is a step on the way towards something better. Now, some comments here I find quite strange. For example, some people brings up comparisons of other girly toys and asks why there are no complaints about them. Well, that's an easy answer. There are lots of complaints about them, maybe not in this specific topic but that is because we are not discussing those toys, we are discussing "Friends". Others asks why no one asks the children what they think and seems to have completely missed to read the article it all began with. Asking, interviewing and observing kids is exactly what TLG (or their consults, I'm not sure how they work) has done for a very long time to get to these results. Asking your own kids and back up your statements with their answers will not have the same scientifically value, I'm sorry (not saying it's not relevant though, it is. But TLG has a much more data to derive it's theories from). I checked the box "I have studied sociology" although it's in fact anthropology that is my field, but they are quite similar. Edit: Oh, I see more option have been added to the poll now. Ignore what I said about the limited option then :) And def seemed to have a similar idea on how to solve the problem. I write too slow.
  17. I did miss the question, but I'm to sure if I answered clearly on this question. Yes, Elgar can leave the archers and fight on the wall, and then return to lead the archers the next round. His leadership of the archers works the same way as the operators of the siege weapons.
  18. "That Satyr is a nasty creature, I don't want him to let him get away just like that. Someone should attack him from the back row this round to avoid being knocked out. If it happens anyway, I got a Phoenix Essence to use. I'll continue my attack on Pirate Raider from the front row, unless another plan comes up."
  19. Correct. Also, I forgot that from now on I'm gonna need a Battle order for those who fight face to face on the wall. You will face three enemies on the wall next time, Mercenary Cavalry W1, Mercenary Cavalry W2 and Mercenary Cavalry V1. So, the normal rules applies to those who fight on the wall, the siege engineers can continue as before: Party Leader, choose the order of action. All of you, choose your targets and the row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will get a Free Hit on the party after everyone has acted.
  20. Results of Round Six of Battle of Tanco The enemy advances to these positions: Ballista vs. E5 - Hit Archers vs. C1 - Critical Hit Cronk vs. Mercenary Cavalry W1 - Damage Sir Leo vs. Mercenary Cavalry W1 - Special Damage Blessed effect on Cronk - Heal Sir Glorfindel hurry over to the ballista to help Tomas aiming it. Together they manage to send the projectile straight at the so far unharmed infantry company. The hit is strong and causes much panic in the enemies rows as they are decimated by 60 men. The cavalry company V is advancing towards the wall, but at the close range they are a good target for Elgar and his archers that takes out 20 men. Up on the wall the first enemy appears suddenly and gives Cronk a quick slash with his sword (4 damage)and then stuns Sir Leo with mighty hit. Cronk is restored with 3 health by the power of the Righteous Light. Cavalry V has now reached the wall as well and will begin to scale it. Next round two more enemies will appear up on the wall, Mercenary Cavalry W2 and Mercenary Cavalry V1. The enemy: On the battlefield Mercenary Infantry X Strength: 24/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Infantry Y Strength: 24/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Infantry Z Strength: 40/100 men Pace: 1 square/round Mercenary Cavalry V Strength: 30/50 men Pace: 2 squares/round Mercenary Cavalry W Strength: 39/50 men Pace: 2 square/round On the wall: Mercenary Cavalry W1 Type: Humanoid Level: 8 Health: 35/35 Special: Massive Hit - The Mercenary's hit lands heavy on the hero, causing the stunned-effect. The target loses its next turn. Drops: 20 gold The party: Cronk *Blessed* (Played by CorneliusMurdock) Level 14.5 Knight Power: 25 Health: 22/23 Gold: 181 Inventory: Zoot's Bane (Long Sword) (WP: 11, Light Damage, suitable for Cronk), Sword of Bashing (WP: 5), Mockthrill Shield (SP: 4), Potion (2), Bedroll, Pointy Stick (WP:1), Fire bomb Sir Glorfindel *Blessed* (Played by soccerkid6) Level 8 Knight Power: 11 Health: 17/17 Gold: 71 Inventory: Ringil a sword (hollow blade [potion], Ice Elemental WP:3),Pongcanis Shield (SP:3) equipped, Lion Shield (SP:2), Bedroll, Potion (3)(one in sword), Ice bomb, Fire bomb Sir Leo Aragon *Stunned* (Played by JediAnakin) Level 12 Knight Power: 19 Health: 18/21 Gold: 135 Inventory: Burning Draken Sword (WP:7, Fire elemental), Paladin Shield (SP:5), Potion (2), Bedroll, Shovel, Mead Elgar Gligin *Blessed* (Played by Jedi master Brick) Level 8 Ranger Power: 12 Health: 13/13 Gold: 109 Inventory: Mockthril crossbow (WP:4 Lightning elemental), Smoke bomb, Bedroll, Remedy (2), Orc venom, Potion (2), Ice bomb, Venom Tomas (Played by Captain Tamamoro) Level 14 Cleric Power: 20 Health: 11/23 Ether: 6/19 Gold: 200 Inventory:Shadeaux Staff (WP: 6), Gold Staff (WP: 4), Pongcanis Staff (WP: 5), 2 Potions, 3 Remedies, 2 Bedrolls, 1 Tonics, Bone, Grand Tonic, Fire Bomb, Shovel, Mead, Venom, Smoke Bomb, Topaz Elemental Gem, Smelling Salts, Common Axe (WP:5), Healing Staff (WP:5, healing effect) Siege weapons available to the party: Catapult Power: 80%-20% Range: 4-8 squares Minimum crew: 2 Manned by: Malfunctions: 1/3 Ballista Power: 80%-60% Range: 1-5 squares Minimum crew: 2 Manned by: Tomas, Sir Glorfindel Archers Power: 40%-20% Range: 1-2 squares Commanded by: Elgar
  21. I think it's this one: 42042 Bionicle Krana Holder 3x4
  22. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a full set from Bricklink? I've bought boxes of the latest 3 series, but I'm not sure if I will do that this time as I'm a bit short on money. I think I will try and be patient and wait for them to get to the local stores and feel my way to a full set and some extras. In one of them that I visited earlier this week they had a huge amount of S4 on racks, very good for keeping track of which one you have already checked.
  23. Sweden (EU but not €): Sales tax: 25% on most, including toys (12% on food, 6% on books). $1 US ~ 6.92 SEK (Swedish Krona) A McDonalds cheeseburger = 10 SEK = $1.44 An apple= not sure, 5 SEK maybe = $0.72 Collectible Minifig = 25 SEK = $3.61 10222 Winter Post Office = 699 SEK = $101 10218 Pet Shop = 1849 SEK = $267 Average pay per month before tax is 28 400 SEK ($4 103), while the median is about 25 300 SEK ($3 655). Then 34%-29% income tax is deducted leaving about 19 500 SEK/$2 817 (avarage) or 17300 SEK/$2 500 (median).
  24. Correct, Infantry Company Z is currently on E6. And Cavalry V will be able to hit once more.
