  1. just one comment - I do not remember that claas uses portal axles on any harvester, so I would prefer that you use those parts for front axle http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92909 and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=11950
  2. yes, but when he uses custom part housing for differential it could be good to use small portal axle hubs...
  3. You red my mind, if you ask me there could be just one driven axle, but new suspension parts are just what we need since there are so many great truck bulders who need only propper suspension to reach perfection with their MOCs (and I can use them for my MOCs; some ammount pf selfishness is in all of us)
  4. If It helps, my plan was to buy Volvo Loader for Parts which happened in august this year. so far I did not took it apart. I always buy sets for parts, but this one remains completed. My recommendation is to buy it, really great for display, one of few sets that IMHO is perfect
  5. It is really cool. Probably the greatest hotrod build from LEGO IMHO. Specially rims from 41999 set give this retro touch. (with 94.3 at the rear and no wings and roof structure could be like rattrod) Great model representing US (cult) car history from Paul as usual.
  6. For me it is great - new green beam 1 x 11, new green 3 x 11 panel, new green http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=42003 (this part in green is something that I need for several years so I hope that LEGO keeps it) and what I've learned so far - when you do not like it do not build it, you'll have a lots of parts. You can always modify it to look like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_919_Hybrid ...but they all are a bit unusual since they are prototypes ;-)
  7. Despite that I'm no fan of pink colors, I admit that this is finally proper portal axle solution. Really good work Michael
  8. Only that 4x4 Volvo models have bigger rear tires on same wheel; please notice front 23,5R25 and rear 29,5R25. IT would be nice that (in near future) LEGO creates bigger tire that fits racing wheel medium
  9. exactly this part in black. Jim, Ted etc I apologize for using image on reply but only text without image requires to much head-scratching for some readers...
  10. There are not only on 42030 set but light bluish gray on 70810 set, but they are meant to be used with LEGO (plastic-like) tires
  11. It's OK with me whatever you make. There is no need to argue about esthetic, beauty was always in the eye of beholder anyway. I
  12. No problem. Just one suggestion red dishes with black wheel
  13. HI, I know that this is only way, but I was hoping that there is some info about some new part, but we will see what is doable. This latest solution is a kind of compromise and could be temporary solution, but have to wait until weekend to try it. thanks
  14. Hi images are here If you have any additional questions, I'll answer
  15. Hi, images are here (when folder will be published) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=539984 I have problem with uploading images to forum so please accept this delay
  16. Exactly, just to be 4 studs long I ...and have identical both ends...sou you can use them only with this part at the both side: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92906
  17. than you live in somewhere in Baden Wurttemberg...even today when someone calls on phone my father and when he is in the bathroom we joke that he is in Baden Baden (you understand that I do not think about Casino). Older models are based on MBtrac 1500 with portal axes (if I'm not mistaken), when we talk about it I can send you photos with lime container block to see what I meant. WhatI wanted to make is wftrax 6 X 6 but have no those wheels http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=41896&colorID=34&in=A I need 4 of them for this model for this model http://www.werner-trier.com/1/wf-trac/4-x-4/ I need only one more of this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=47676&colorID=34&in=A to fit scale of my tractors I need to make mog based on this wheel/tire combination http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32019 on http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=86652 or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32020 Even in Croatia (where I'm from) there are mostly U406 mogs used in forestry, but I saw one mbtrac 800 in the field and one mbtrac 1500 at one electric power plant. those mogs U406 are built with their 6cylinder 5.7l engines for eternity
  18. or to make wheel that has positive offset. another solution would be that this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30374 is modified at the end to have ends like this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=32494 to be used with those parts http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92906 or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92909 despite bad turning angle thanks
  19. Michael, Differential should be in the middle of axle like on real car or tractor, and it should be 3 studs tall (this is no problem actually)
  20. Michael, track for each axle is calculating as distance between middle of left and right tire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axle_track Hope that my link is usefull the only way that I know is to use wheel with negative offset, so pivot point is closer to middle of wheel. Unfortunately LEGO has wheel from 8448 set and futuristic that have zero offset, and current wheels racing have one stud positive offset and wheel racing 62,4 X 46 from 8466 set has 1/2 stud positive offset, by my calculations. Please correct me if I'm wrong only way to make negative offset is like this http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=513018 problem is that it fits only simple axle and not this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=92909 another problem is that wheels contact with axle is only good for display... I hope that now you understand what I think about distance... Regards
  21. Roll cage is great, It tempts me to finish my wftrac asap, even without e-motors...only have to make smaller cvt. Im sure 90% that I'll post photos with my idea tomorrow, so you can use it for mog 406. Btw, 406 is my fathers favorite mog (he worked in Gaggenau in late 60s and early 70s) Kind regards Igor
  22. question; not only for you Michael, but for all of you respected builders - do you know how to make steered driver independent suspension axle that has differential but is more narrow than 18 studs? It must use differential at the center of axle and universal joints?
  23. No I Really meant those 9X9 container blocks, similar to this solution (only use 8448 set wheel or wheel racing medium instead of trans blue container block) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=513018 or give me few days time, I'll make photos and post them here, so you could have (almost) compatible solution that has several advantages - tire is more stiff on this wheel/tire combo - on wheel from 8448 set pinholes are compatible with pins on postal axle housing, you need only to use axle to go through wheel and to use bush 1/2 to prevent wheel sliding on it - since wheel 8448 has no offset (medium wheel has negative offset) you can make steering pivot point closer to middle of the wheel (and make front track 2 studs more narrow) I've waited 2 years to find those red container blocks, so my Claas Axion project is alive again...now I need 4 lime wheels racing small, but that is another story I hope I could help, again if you need some more info please post questions and give me few days to make photos of "solution"
  24. Very good beta model as usual with some 95% accuracy of final product.
