Beautiful, I love how this came out, Darkie. I've always had a soft spot for tall things *wub* But I need to ask, from this picture: I noticed some pieces that I don't believe came in white...were they just rare-colored parts, or did you paint, or did you get recluse to cast some for you?

What a beautiful MOC! But...all those 2x1 plates *wacko* It looks nice but what a tedious task! The attention to detail is commendable.

Welcome to EB, I hope you enjoy it around here

20% of all lego at TrU UK when you spend over

And so was he :-P I think you got confused about what Hobbes' post was for -
Hm...I was just at Target two days ago and bought an Inika and Matoran at a dollar off each, and I didn't even notice! I thought the prices were lower *wacko* Thanks for the heads up, I might head back now X-D

Excellent review, Mister Phes! Very well thought out, and I like the backstory to go with it X-D I'd have to give this set a two, because while it's a nice little set...it seems very overpriced for what you said! The minifig count isn't bad, however the actual set? I'd maybe say it's worth $10...it's comparable to the new Castle set, The Final Joust except maybe your set has a few more pieces. I'd expect the final Joust to sell for about $5US, so I'd give this $10 tops. It's a great little set though, and I love the idea of that bucket raft (nice piece for such a small set), but again the price killed it for me.

Yeah, you were defensive with your attitude when Shine disagreed. Don't act like you can't see it |-/ The whole attitude with "buddy" was really unnecessary and rude.

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well. Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: "First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1) If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2) If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you", and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having an affair with her, then #2 above cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze over." THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A".

I assume it would just be the normal C3PO fig with a white torso, legs, head, and arms. I wouldn't expect anything new if I were you

You know what would be really phenomenal? If one of our many lego ambassadors who kinda promised they'd browse more and be more active in the community would come here with a post to explain the situation or ease our nerves a bit |-/
-
The problem with that, though, is that it would be hard to pick out which villains to minifig-ize. Even with the relatively few number of Batman villains we're having people complain about the lack of certain villain MF (Harley Quinn), so could you imagine when it involves all the enemies of a dozen or so super heroes? *wacko*

Snow Patrol - Run

X-men would be a great idea. Not only the institute, but several playsets from the recent movies...even a brick-built sentinel!

Hm? That picture's to small to make out a difference. It looks like the plain old regular beard in bley to me...

How many copies made of each set?
Starwars4J replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
According to S@H they're just out of stock for another month... -
Hm, since this has a bunch of new information, and the old topic hasn't been discussed in awhile, I'll leave this be for now. I for one couldn't agree more. I remember when I first got my hands on the Arkham Asylum I noticed that the slopes no longer had the texture that I'm used to, but rather were smooth and felt disgustingly cheap. They felt like Megabloks! (er, not that I've ever felt Megabloks... 8-| ) Some others mentioned that this was starting to happen, and that some slopes (60 degree) were smooth, while others still had texture! This quality problem pissed me off like you have no idea >:-( It was, however, the first time the quality issue slapped me in the face. Other times quality could just be slipping and I wouldn't really notice it unless someone said "Hey! Look what happened to their quality!" and showed me how it's somewhat deficient. That time, however, it was not ignorable. I can't testify to the quality of other brands, but I can say that Lego is really starting to disappoint me, as the quality of their sets increase...that means nothing if the quality of their pieces decrease. I see Lego going back to how they used to be, however they can't compromise on quality of sets with quality of bricks, because that's just as bad, if not worse. I would rather pay more for good sets than get stuck with crap :-/
-
They're both phenomenal and better than I could do, but sometimes that's the fun in building. Finding out what works better, and what doesn't, and then throwing apart the bricks and starting again with a better knowledge of what to do and how to do it. Sure it's frustrating at first, but it gives much more satisfaction when you're done-done :-P
-
That was a bit of an attitude, don't you think? >:-( Why are you getting so defensive? Everyone just calm down, people are allowed to believe what they want, and whenever the product comes out and you can see it and build it with your own hands, you'll know for sure. But giving attitude towards other members because they say something that contradicts your opinion isn't a good idea
-
I'd agree, it's just a custom. At least the person isn't ripping people off with a huge pricetag
-
What an interesting design! It looks like an old west ship! This actually could be an interesting subtheme ;-) I can't really see anything too well since the gallery doesn't seem to exist...but I like what I see, though it needs to be finished of course. keep us updated *y*
-
It's a very interesting design and color scheme! I like the clean look of it, though maybe it would get dirty fast in the ocean? :-P Might I inquire about how you made the sail?
-
Could you elaborate a bit on your feelings on the matter, Zaktan? A post with just "Oh..." is just spam |-/
-
I think that sounds interesting, but maybe put some sort of limit on the size? Again, it's hard to really compare a large base with a small one. :-)
-
I'll definitely consider it *y* Does anyone else have any suggestions for attaching the bubble cockpit to the body without compromising the overall shape?
