Hey all, I've finished a new sub-MOC for my SHIP. Any cruiser would need some place to keep some prisoners (if they happened to survive). Rather than the joint-cells of centuries past, it was decided that each prisoner would be kept in a lock-down type cell to prevent planning, or really any planning for hope of escape. As we can see here, the Empire has actually caught someone who deserved it for once! A serial killer who had threatened a local Imperial Governor. The prisoner has been placed in a standard pair of bipedal appendage restraints (hey, you need to be PC when there are so many types of sentient creatures), and is being led to his cell by Brigadeer General Ninyx and a contingent of armed troopers. The containment module: It's fully cell-f contained! :-| As you can see, it's cell number 1, being the experimental version of course. I plan on having 10 of these in the cruiser. The handle is for opening it in case of an emergency. The lock, however, can only be opened remotely from the bridge. Enjoy the light while you can The door slides up and open The inside. It's hard to take a picture of it since it's enclosed... You can see the air/neurotoxin vent in the back. Yes, I said neurotoxin. A gaseous neurotoxin is pumped into the cell once the prisoner is secured to knock them out. No long-term side effects have been observed, but honestly they didn't look all that hard. The gas dissipates readily in an oxygen-rich environment, so the inside of the cell is normally kept to 5% oxygen at most. The gas is pumped in through the back, which I'll get to later. Oh, and you see that little black thing? That's part of a further restraining device. The arm slides down to hold the prisoner by the cuffs. So the prisoner is knocked out, encased in a thick cell, and held in place by his cuffs. Here you can see an opening, that's just a low-tech laser sensor bar. If it's crossed, an alarm will sound. This is another level of prevention to hinder escapes. You also see a few smaller holes in the back, those are sensors to monitor the condition of the prisoner. Here's where the module plugs into the back. This is where it will connect to the SHIP. It is only through this connection that the module gets it's power, and delivery of oxygen and nerve gas, as well as the signal to lock or unlock the module. buh-bye And yes, I'm aware it's boxy, it's meant to be a box. A large, armored box that's impossible to escape from. I wish the pics did this justice...it's not that I didn't want to take the time, it's that I don't know how to photograph something like this :'-( thanks for looking! C&C appreciated

I have to echo asuka's comments here, I love the elegance in the simplicity of your design, *yoda*! There's something to be said for smooth lines *y*

Is that the suit that periodically inflates around some of the joints in order to increase circulation? That still requires a large amount of exercise, it gets tedious. Think of the figs :'-(

Or anti-gravity :'-( Think of their bone density! *sing* I can see this topic of conversation going bad places... 8-|

The Great Jelly Alien Spoof Contest!
Starwars4J replied to Corvus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Whoa whoa, I'm getting confused now and I haven't even entered! So let me get this straight, there is a "whack and jelly" section, a "kill a jelly" section, and a combo section? If that is right, I think just make it two sections...whack and kill. If something overlaps then throw it in both. Why worry about something having twice the chance to win? If it's that good then it deserves it, no? Besides, something split in two is inherently weaker in either than one with focus, no? So there's no real 'threat'...and besides this contest is just for fun! Who cares if there's an increased chance of winning IMO :-D -
Those knee-spikes look too much like from a clone brand to me :-/ And it's by Greg F? No wonder the story has been so shallow :-| The set looks leagues above anything exo-force has shown so far, and all that dark green :'-) Favorite Color On!

He never mentioned being underaged...I've seen plenty of people over 18 who typed that badly.

Are you sure you know which side of that fine line you're on? Listing just the things that need to be fixed is not constructive. Listing why they need to be fixed is constructive. Only saying the negatives, followed by an "I don't like this" isn't constructive. In fact it's mean. That doesn't encourage someone to build bigger and better. Did he try to fix his ship after your little rant? No, he trashed it. That's all your comment did. Next time, find some nice things to say too. If you can't find any, then maybe don't bother posting.

Well the main problem with the "illegal" techniques John mentioned is that they're not nearly as sturdy as normal connections, so you need to be careful not to sneeze around them :-D I'm all for people finding new and creative ways to attach pieces, but using certain techniques which can damage the parts is the same as using custom parts IMO, takes the creativity out of it. My only concern with this is that the "window" isn't really a window, but that's minor.

Oh come on, *yoda* is anywhere someone isn't being nice, and what you said was just cold. You did nothing but tear into his MOC and did NOTHING helpful, and with comments like that why even say anything? You don't like when people tear your stuff apart, do you? So why the need to have this inferiority complex all the time? In all my time at EB I've never seen anyone who just tears into MOCs like you but almost never say anything NICE about anyone's stuff. This just pisses me off.

You bet I do! SpaceKadet said yes?! :'-) :-P

Ah yeah, this has actually been posted and referenced several times already though ;-) Remember to check the search function! Gotta love the ending of course X-D I'll close this to avoid repeat topics

I sincerely doubt we'll get any sort of UCS castle this year or next. It's just not something I think they'd see a big enough market in, and it doesn't exactly fit with what they're doing now. My bet on the "special item" would be a chess set, like the last castle set, but done "right" (meaning knights have HORSES). Bad Guys: Pawn = Goblin/Orc Knight = Troll (obviously no horse on this one...) etc. If a UCS castle ("Castle Corner" is a name I'm all for) were to come out, it would, IMHO, be completely independent of the current castle line. I'd love elves, and I'd place money on them being in the NEXT wave of castle, if there is indeed to be a next wave.

Well IIRC there was an overhaul done awhile ago to not count banned members, so you guys are right in that. Someone could sign up today and be member number 20xx, but only raise the member count to 16xx

Nah, those look like bley kepis to me.

The stars appear to be just a graphic...if you look they seem to come from his "wand". Not printed ;-) Hey! X-D It might be confusing to people if I merge this into another forum, so I'm gonna close this and urge anyone who wants to continue anything said here, to do so in the topic Holodoc linked to with a quote. What a very Elvis-like ending you had! Edit: In retrospect it looks like it may be printed. Blargh.

This is great news for everything BUT castle! :-D Money wise buying a chess set would be much more cost-efficient. For the MM set it's not bad though! The fighter might be more cost effective however...as for city it's a definite buy! Overall more accessories than I was expecting (especially for the sentry!) but still, buying in bulk (chess set) is wiser if you can afford it.

My Lego Workshop Vignette: Sir Nadroj's REAL Lego Workshop
Starwars4J replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Town
So am I, though I've never heard of Jewish being a nationality :-D The truth is I'm half Italian and half Austrian, while being technically Jewish due to my Jewish mother/grandmother, but I'm closer to my italian roots ;-) Nice vig too :-P -

Nice job, I love the way the landing gear looks when it's folded up. Smart use of that cockpit also, you don't see that used too often.

Hm, old entries you say? >:-) But seriously, is this specifically a fighter and racer combination contest, or could you enter a fighter or a racer? Oh, and pinned

Thank you, finally someone around here gets it! :-| X-D

Yeah, the squares are glued on, but that doesn't bother me :-P -
How'd you get this almost 6 years early? X-O :-P Damn, 10 hours and it barely looks started! Ouch :-X
