  1. Nice :-| And the UCS AT-ST which was in my TRU. So...I guess they ARE available in stores |-/ However there's no reason to get snippy over speculation... But it was supposed to be a set target to the AFOL audience, right? Hinckley was nice enough to close it, but wow...what a freaking attitude. Did you have a bad day, or are you always this obnoxious |-/ It was really uncalled for IMO
  2. Last warning...no more political commentary on the MOC
  3. Here you go :-)
  4. I mean the gear pillars. Large square pillars doesn't look very realistic :-/ As for the floor hatch pillars, they're more or less place holders. I plan on interconnecting all four of those at the top, as well as connecting them to the walls closest to them for support. What beveled ones? :'-( Damnit, is there a new part? This works just as well though, I'd guess. I mean it gets the job done :-D But if there's a part that does it easier I don't see why not... Yup, the end is the back. The thrusters are going in the back wall of the engine room, I figured it would make the most sense to have the power generators near the engines, no? The fins will connect to the back of the engine room as well, to provide cover for the thrusters. I need to pipe water to the bunks on the second deck, as well as to the command room and galley :'-( Not to mention the bathrooms... It's only a small part, though. There will be a waste disposal unit, as well as a maze of pipes and whatnot. Of course! The pipes and cables won't be that exposed, they'll be in the crawlspace on the sides, but they will be filled with pipes and cables *sweet* I may also have a couple running along the hallways... Well, it's the full size it will be. However as you can see there's barely half the skeleton done, not to mention the plate layer on top, and then a layer of tiles, greebs, and guns X-D Well I wasn't going to show it until it was much more done ;-) But thanks for the comments!
  5. You're making the mistake of assuming that higher sales means it's a better quality product! ;-) Lego sales have increased when they've included those blasted shooting mechanisms, but does that make it better? Lego sales increased when they used more <insert that tiresome argument> parts so that little children can build it faster, is that higher quality? The answer is of course not! These sets with their shooting mechanisms appeal more to the little kids who just want an action figure they can shoot at things with, that doesn't mean they're BETTER. Hell, those squid launcher things sold better than the first wave of bionicle, but does that mean it was a better idea? Of course not, just a silly gimmick. And sadly that's the direction they're headed :-/ As for Bionicle outdoing 2001 story, I don't think anything they've had recently comes anywhere close to the magic, the unknown feeling of the first wave. When things were all about gods and demons, swords and an unknown island. Now they're in a freaking submarine with breathers and bazookas and chain guns :-| clearly appealing to the action-hungry little kids, not to the adult who wants a higher quality product he can MOC with and a deep story that can affect an adult, rather than the shallow crap that's being handed out now... And if bionicle keeps doing into this direction, perhaps it should have died. Things should leave on a high note, not when you can't push the product any longer...
  6. The red vader helm is currently available on Bricklink at five different stores. It's not a prototype, given the huge number that's out there (relative to a prototype), most likely made for a LUG. That said, great MOC! You always manage some impressive castle creations, and this is no exception. That bridge is a thing of beauty, and I love the tower facade!
  7. $36 is a lot to me :-P No idea about other countries, but I'd assume so
  8. I can see you made a few changes, but if you were going for more post-apoc I'd try some more light/dark bley. Also make it more patchwork. A few more greebs would be nice too, as it is, it's very "clean" still, if you know what I mean :-P Like the chains though ;-)
  9. Okay, this sale is through Wal-Mart (yes, yes, BOOOO, hiss) It's at $164.00US! Not bad, that's $36 off! Free shipping to your local Wal-Mart too! Click here!
  10. Well, this forum is here for more than selling, it also is for buying ;-) I'm sure he'd be willing to accept trades too, which someone on BL would.
  11. Asuka and Lt. Col. Thok: Thanks! *sweet* Me too |-/ Sadly they try to charge me for parts on BL! Can you believe that? :-P Basically I need to put out a large order for a few hundred more double-sided click hinges, not to mention the various bley plate sizes! On top of that I need to order several hundred more 6x6 bley plates, several hundred bley 2x2 tiles...basically right now I'm trying to get the basic shape down. After that I'll add the greebs, cannons, etc. Which really sucks since that's the most fun to do! It really didn't look great in the pic, but the dome is looking pretty nice in person! Just really weak, I need to heavily reinforce that thing!! Should provide a fun chance to include a decent amount of very low, body-hugging greebs along the dome though.
  12. So you think it's a civilian set? I just hope it's not a re-release of that blacksmith's house from a few years back...
  13. I think I mentioned that I planned on adding a lot more to the engines...and yeah, that stuff's there because it's just clutter. I would've removed it, but there's nothing it's really blocking...the wolf, for example, I cannibalized for it's pneumatic T parts, and droid arms.
  14. Well, were you going to do this contest before this topic started? Like it's been said before, this isn't about discussing topics, it's about scheduling contests. That's all. This also isn't here to push people to make contests or anything like that :-P
  15. The engine room is a clutter because it isn't finished yet :-P Seriously, there's nothing in there besides the things I specifically took pictures of and pointed out ;-) As for the fins, I'm gonna add something. 99% of what you see is just a placeholder until something else is finished.
  16. What? Am I bumping this thread? Sorry :-$ Anyway I have an update! I've started on the lower deck. Keep in mind, this looks VERY BOXY RIGHT NOW. It won't later, I promise :'-) I need to greeb it up, finish the engine room, do the SECOND FLOOR, put it all together...yeah. It's very basic and still in VERY early stages, so I know it's boxy as-is. I hate boxy ships too, it won't stay that way As you can see here, it's still under heavy construction. I have most of the floor down, with regular air vents along the floor. The sides are still barely there. You can see a 2-stud gap on either side, where various wires and pipes (as well as an access hatch) will go. I still need to add the two turrets into the existing walls. Here's the very crowded engine room, with a close-up of this weird...I guess hyperdrive thingy. I don't know, it does something! Then I zoom in on the budding engine cluster. The benefit of zero-point energy's infinite reservior is that they don't need to be that large to generate large amounts of power This is a side-greeb that I like, and have been waiting to use for awhile. There are two sets of 5 on each side. They function to carry coolant fluids, to naturally let space cool it. Why do the work when space can for you? This is something I like...the water storage and purification system! As you can see there are two towers, one grey (contaminated) and one blue (fresh). Pipes will eventually connect this to every room, allowing the withdrawal of bad water, and so on. One cluster isn't enough for such a big ship though, I plan on including a second set of bley and blue towers. That should be enough, considering water would be under pressure in the first place The gear system. There is a knob in the back which, when turned, will lower the middle of the floor of the hanger (raised in a previous picture). I'm particularly happy with this, and can't wait for it to get finished! I just need to make more...complex support pillars |-/ The dome. This is coming along really slowly, but nicely And finally, the fins that will line the back of the ship, to protect the engines. Can't wait to attack these! They're taller than the main deck (which is 13 bricks high, not counting the additional brick and plate), to allow for the bottom fins which I'll build last. Thanks for looking!
  17. There's also the point of the newer years deviating from the whole mystical thing for bazookas and other crap :-X Not a direction they should have gone in...
  18. The last guy doesn't look as good as your other two. The added plates serve to increase the length of the torso, thus making the legs look even shorter. Also the "holster" up front looks kind've awkward, though I'm not really sure how else to do that. Since you decided to make another topic, I'll close the first one.
  19. Well, personally I think it's okay :-P It's not really a MOC in my mind, more of an announcement for upcoming products
  20. He can sign up for a free e-mail and use that to make his own account
  21. These are absolutely phenomenal! You know how much I love your hair molds, so I won't even go into that :-D Having worked with sculpy and green stuff, I know how hard it is to get the shape you want before it hardens, so the sheer level of detail you've gotten on these two blows me away! The painting is pretty extraordinary too... Both of these are great jobs (even custom hands!), and if this is a sign of things to come, I can't wait to see what else you have in store!
  22. :-| :-P
  23. I didn't say you can't talk about it :-D Just no getting into arguments about "Communism sucks!" "No way! Communism is the best!" etc. The notion of banning lego is still ludicrous...as if that was capitalist propaganda :-|
