  1. God are these the only options of this nation? Trying so hard to be polite and civil right now.. :-X Thankfully no, those aren't the only options. However so many comments were made about the current administration, I felt it prudent to bring up the faults of Clinton, who so many US-citizens look back upon as being some wonderful man whose administration was a golden age for Americans, and point out that it isn't true ;-) And thanks for your effort, it makes things much more plesant
  2. I'm noticing a lot of very...well how should I put it, crude statements? Shouldn't the purpose of this discussion be to address issues in a civilized manner? :-| Yes, our country is messed up, but then again if you look hard enough you can find things with EVERY country that are messed up. There's a very important matter that people aren't addressing. The "bad guys", the people who will break into your house, the people who WILL assault you, the people who WILL commit crimes with guns will STILL be able to get them! Most of them do not get guns through legal means! Now I'm CERTAINTLY not a supporter of guns, but I'm afraid merely passing a law banning guns will not cut down on crime. Will it cut down on accidents? Sure it will. But it will also leave a family alone in a house with nothing but a bat against a burgler with an automatic pistol. I just hope everyone realizes that there are points to BOTH sides of any argument. Oh, and Darth Doggfather, just so you know, I'd take Bush over Clinton any day. He messed our country up more than Bush (people in other nations might not know why though, unless they're really into US politics). The case I'll consider moving to Italy will be if Hillary ever gets elected :-X Guns were the worst invention human kind has made so far. Well, besides Megabloks ;-)
  3. Er, one additional comment. The one thing I dislike about the ninja line is that it led the way for future lines (KK2) to be "front-facing", meaning most of the ninja line only had a wall in front, even for their largest castle!
  4. I voted for Robber's Retreat (there's just something old-school about it), and all six *skull* (we really need a ninja smilie...) If you'd like, I'll go in with you on the two sets you're missing for reviews. I loved the Ninja line, I just wish it wasn't so short-lived... Anyway, I have all sets assembled in my room back home. I go home for the week of the 30th, so I can do the reviews then. I also owe sne like 20 reviews...so I'll catch up that weekend :-P Just tell me which you want done.
  5. Hey, the pics are fine and the ship is looking great! The home-made guns really make this a lot nicer, and I see you like greebling :-D You've done a lot to reduce the blocky-ness of this, my only complaint on that would be maybe using some 1xX slopes on the sides of the cockpit to reduce the pilot compartment's blockyness. Great job, are you going to continue with more SW vehicles?
  6. Even Mr Snugglepuff :-D *yoda* NO! >:-( Look he may, but have him he may NOT *wub* :-P
  7. Happy Birthday! Hope you get everything you want
  8. That's an absolutly unbelievable story 8-
  9. Thank you. I never really thought of myself as an "idiot", though :'-) . Perhaps that is something I should investigate. Although it is true that you can usually build a set by buying the specific parts, there is something to be said for having a complete "collection" of actual sets. Seeing as these two are not available in the U.S., I was forced to become an "idiot". Oh well, what can I say? Ciao! And Leg Godt, of course! I can definitely appreciate your point of view. You're most likely not going to open them, and have them as a collector would. All the bricks on bricklink can't buy you a sealed bag :-P I think Nate just looked at it as a parts point of view, whereas you looked at the set as a whole
  10. Welcome to Eurobricks! I'm glad you're letting your son use Lego, it really helps for spatial recognition for when they're older. In fact it's not uncommon to see a few pieces of Lego in my professors offices in Uni :-P There are a few other girls, but as you can imagine it's a bit intimidating for women sometimes when they're the only ones on the forum! It's a bit intimidating for anyone to be in a very small minority, but at least our female population is growing, that should ensure a much more balanced view of things :-) Anyway, enjoy your stay
  11. Hey there, first let me say, not a bad attempt at all! This could have the makings of a great fighter, just a couple of small notes: 1. That's a very interesting color scheme for a Z-95, I guess parts availability? 2. The body of the fighter is very blocky. Remember, the Z-95 was an aerospace fighter, not just space. It does need to be somewhat aerodynamic 3. Try to make your own guns instead of those Star Wars molds. Not only will it look better, but it's more satisfying! Great work, and keep it up. I can't want to see the finished product!
  12. You can always visit MCN, they have threads on how to customize. The closest you could come would be to buy one and make a resin cast. Resin isn't as sturdy as injection ABS though, which is what both Armothe and LA use. To make an injection mold you'd need tens of thousands of dollars of equipment though... ... "Tens of thousands of dollars" :'-( . I wanted to make myself a few 100 shako's for my army (they are so expensive), but I guess I will have to keep on buying them on ebay. Those guys that are making these customized helmets must have lots of money?! Well, if you go to the Minifig Customization Network they will have a link where you can buy Armothe's great helms (along with a bunch of other fantastic pieces!). Right now they're rather expensive though, $3.50US/helm You can get the LA helm at Sith35's bricklink store for $1.50 It's not so much that these people have a lot of money you see. These stores are business for them. Any business requires an initial investment, and they hope to eventually sell enough pieces to recoup the cost of the injectionmolding, and more for a profit. It's really not something that just anyone can do, but if you want you can try resin casting which is relatively cheap, and affordable :-)

  14. September birthdays are clearly the best ;-) :-P Happy Birthday
  15. To me it makes sense. I mean they used a color that they barely used in other sets. Why? If it was one of the more common colors, they'd have plenty of use for it. For an uncommon color like that they'd have no use but to hide it away somewhere.
  16. But that's just the thing, if we took away Star Wars from the theater the remaining theater section would be dead. We get posts and threads for specific themes as we get news of new sets for said themes. When Batman came out the entire forum was filled with Batman threads, but now look, it's dead. These things come and go, and while the theater section would come alive when more licenses came out, they would quickly die again in a month or two. Star Wars doesn't even get THAT many threads. Sure, it dominates the theater section, but it's not like the theater section is insanely active or something. As for the Star Wars MOC subforum...we don't get many (if any) Star Wars MOCs in the first place. If we start adding all these new forums, sub forums, and subsub forums, the place would be so difficult to navigate that forums would be lost, most people wouldn't even know they were there! Not like I'm bashing your idea, I can definitely see where you're coming from, these are just MY two cents, explaining why I feel the way I feel :-)
  17. Nope. You are completely off. Steampunk is set in an alternate Victorian Era, which is in the past. Also, there is already a Space-western theme called Tech-west. to be hoenst, i don't understand any of what you guys are talking about here *wacko* :'-( - what is called steam punk ??? it can be european ??? (i know what steampunk is, but in your wording i can figure out what you are meaning, in relation to this thread) - what is this Tech-West... surly its not an official LEGO theme, maybe a movie, a cartoon ??? - BrickMiner Steampunk is a general term used largely in the Space communities for how things would have been say, 200+ years ago if they had used their level of technology to create things such as planes (nothing stopping them), floating islands (unrealistic), mecha (impossible), etc. It's catagorized by a large use of wood and propellers. It can be European, American, anything! Tech-West, I think Lego2000 meant to say, is a genre of Space/Westers, created by fans, similar to Steampunk in that regard. It's not based off of anything other than a handful of sci-fi films and the minds of fans. 1. Steampunk takes place in the VICTORIAN Era, which was before the dawn of the 20th century, which is about 130+ years ago. 2. Steampunk was not created by the Lego fan community. 3. steampunk is categorized by Ornithopters, balloons, ect. which all have to be steam powered, meaning steampunk creations must show some sort of steam source. 4. Floating ROCKS are not created, but were already there. 1. Steampunk isn't strictly Victorian 2. I never said it was. This is a lego community, I merely mentioned how the term got introduced to Lego ;-) 3. That's why I mentioned that they used the technology of the era... 4. Not true at all. It's quite up to the user's imagination as to how they got there. We all know rocks don't float on their own, so either some inane steam powered contraption is keeping them aloft, or it's some form of magic. Please keep in mind this is all fantasy, there are no strict rules to adhere to (except to keep the level of technology in mind). That's the fun of Lego, you make the rules ;-) Some people take things too seriously :-|
  18. Bricklink would take much longer, and for sets people are willing to spend insane amounts on Ebay...so it's probably your best bet

  20. Are the orange slopes supposed to be computer consoles? If so, do you plan to add decals to them? The white/yellow color scheme is very unique. Do you plan on keeping it, or is that just a temp base? If you do keep it, it could make for an interesting retro feel.
  21. But how much discussion do we REALLY get on other lines? We'd end up with a semi-active Star Wars forum, and a mostly dead theater forum.
  22. Give in to your anger, let your hate flow through you </Emperor> :-P
  23. Yup...if you can really call that "Space"... Before that was Insectiods in 2000, and UFO in '98
  24. I don't think one is needed, I mean the Theater forum is here for all licensed themes, and Star Wars is just one of them. Yes, it dominates the forum, but that happens. Right now Ninja is dominating the History forum, but that doesn't mean we need a Ninja forum ;-) *waits for Brickster/Brick Miner to come in and correct him about that* :-P
